Woodbine Mohawk Park: A great eight for MacDonald on Monday night

James MacDonald set a new Ontario Jockey Club/Woodbine Entertainment Group record for wins by a driver on a single card by taking eight of the ten events on Monday night at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
MacDonald teamed up with trainer Harry Poulton for three of his victories as they combined to take the fourth with Looks Like Moni [1:53 4/5], the sixth with Resolute Bay [1:54 2/5], and the ninth with Locatelli [1:50 4/5]. Locatelli's clocking also equaled the track and Canadian record for an older gelding trotter.
The remaining triumphs for MacDonald came in the second with White Tiger [1:53 2/5] for trainer Domenic Gladu, the fifth with Pointomygranson [1:51 4/5] for trainer Chantal Mitchell, the seventh with P L Opportunity [1:55] for trainer Matthew Dupuis, the eighth with Quan Blue Chip [1:52 3/5] for trainer Garry Merner, and the nightcap with Never Mind N [1:55 2/5] for trainer Carmen Auciello.
