Race 1 – F&M NW $3K L5 or NW $7K L10 - $50K GTD Pick 5
(5) SHES LIGHTS OUT was better last week and the way the track has played mostly to the front-end types the past week, she may wire these. (1) BOURBON SEELSTER comes off a good try and she should be the main threat. (2) SHEZAREALDEAL is capable at this level and she can go better here. (4) TAKEYOURBREATHAWAY drops but her typical style produces few wins. She may be best used underneath.
Race 2 – OSS Grassroots 2YO Colts and Geldings
(7) QUICK TOUR motored home to win his lone qualifier. I’ll give him a slight nod here over (2) TATTOO ARTIST who may go favored off his sharp qualifying win for a barn that sends them ready. (1) DAY DELIGHT should improve here with a start under his belt; using underneath. (3) PRESS TIME is worth a look at a price off his most recent qualifier.
Race 3 – F&M CLM HDCP $10K to $15K
(6) TWENTY THREE RED comes up tagged here vs. a field she should handle, and I’d be surprised if there weren’t multiple claims entered on her. (5) LEAVING A LEGACY raced better last week and she should be an Exacta factor here. (3) XELENE BAYAMA returns quickly after failing at 2 to 5 odds at Grand River. I’ll play against her in this spot. (7) ALWAYS A ROSE faces tougher, but she is sharp and worth a look for the exotics.
Race 4 – OSS Grassroots 2YO Colts and Geldings - $50K GTD Pick 4
To me, this race is completely wide-open. I’ll give (7) LAST THREE the nod based on his solid finish in his lone qualifier. (1) USURPER goes for connections that win early and he should be a threat. (5) FRONTIER CRUISE is sent out by a barn that has been doing well with their rookies. I’ll toss him on multi-race tickets. (2) CENTURY GRIZZLY was much better in his second qualifier and he is in with a shot, too.
Race 5 – OSS Gold 2YO Colts and Geldings
(2) SIRJAMESTHEGREAT was much sharper in his second qualifier and he should be on go for his initial start under the lights. (4) WIND BLOWN was well-prepped in the Maritimes and he should be a threat at first asking. (11) BET ON A DREAM showed little as chalk in his debut but he could get a good trip here and surprise. (9) IRISH PRINCE could get sent on a speed mission by Roy here; beware.
Race 6 – F&M NW $6K L5 or NW $13K L10 AE: OPT CLM $15K
(6) THE GIRLS OF IMAGE paced two miles in a row of 1:51 flat. A third mile paced that fast would be good enough to win here. (1) FOLLOWTHEWIND N is logical on the class drop coming off a decent first up effort; using. (7) MANHATTAN AGAIN also drops, and she should wake up in this spot. Note McClure won with her racing in a similar class on April 12. (2) WHISTYS PARADISE steps up off a tripped-out win. She is likely a fringe player here.
Race 7 – OSS Grassroots 2YO Colts and Geldings
(8) COLIMA made a couple of moves in a good try in his June 28th qualifier and he gets the nod here. (7) BROOKDALE OLLIE paced a solid final 3/4 in his only local qualifier and he looks well-prepped coming in from the Maritimes; using. (6) SOCIAL THEORIES had a start and he goes for a barn that has clicked with some longshots in two-year-old races already. Sharp improvement could be coming with this Bettors Delight colt. (3) CAPTIVATE HANOVER goes for a barn that is sharp in these types of races; consider for exotics.
Race 8 – OSS Grassroots 2YO Colts and Geldings – Late Pick 4
(7) DONTBLVMEJUSTWATCH was a strong second to a very sharp winner last week in a perfect primer for this stakes debut; top call. (1) MAYHEM HANOVER will take plenty of action off his fast June 28th qualifying win and he may be the one to beat. (6) JOURNALISTIC showed good late speed in both qualifiers; using underneath. (4) ACROBAT HANOVER should be in the exotics mix here.
Race 9 – F&M NW $25K L5 or NW $175K LT AE: OPT CLM $60K
(5) SANDBETWEENURTOES took a new season’s mark last week and she looked like her old self which should spell trouble for her rivals here. (1) JUST HER LUCK was odds-on vs. the choice but she had no answer for her in the final 1/4. She can tag along and complete the Exacta here. (2) SUNDAY AFTERNOON tries hard every week and she is an exotics factor here. (3) ANDERSON SEELSTER steps up off a career-best score, but these will be tougher.
Race 10 – NW3 (F&M 5) or $40K (F&M $50K) - Can Am Pick 4 Leg 1
(7) FINGALS WAVE was second to one of the best sophomore trotters in the country last time and he looks best here. (4) CHEATALOTPOV is in good form but he frequently gets overbet. I’ll use him underneath here. (8) OKEANOS will be coming late for a share, most likely. (1) GRACEFUL can compete for a check if she stays flat this time.
Race 11 – F&M NW $15,100 L5 or NW $28K L10 AE: NW $110KLT or OPT CLM $35K
(7) BODICEA caught fire four races back and despite facing elders here in what is clearly a prep for an upcoming stake, she should beat these if she gets put into the race at any point. (4) CENALTA CALL GIRL has been really good on the B tracks lately and she could add some value to the exotics here. (6) MACHNHOPE couldn’t catch a loose leader last week but that was a good effort; using underneath. (3) REIS STAR CROSS can sit a trip and come on late for a share. (9) BETTER DECISION N comes off a nice effort and she can close for a smaller share here.
