(6) GREEN POINT had a rough trip in OSS Gold company at Rideau, and she projects to get a better trip racing on or near the lead here; slight nod. (1) FRISKY BEAVER was flying late last time. Perhaps trainer Auciello has her figured out; using. (8) LUS ILLUSION is on a good roll now and she is a danger here despite her post. (3) BLUEWATER BEACH should get a decent trip here; consider using underneath.
Race 2 – WILLIAM WELLWOOD MEMORIAL – Elimination – 2YO
(7) BEYOND KRONOS brings a three-race win streak north and he should be tough in this spot. (6) PORT PERRY did all the work then lost in the last stride to the pocket-sitter who slid up the pylons. He should be right there again. (2) BACK OF THE NECK’s only losses came to undefeated Real Cool Sam. Here’s another obvious contender. (1) SAVINI should get a better trip here; consider at a price for the exotics.
Race 3 – SIMCOE – 3YO Fillies
(6) EVIDENT BEAUTY catches the Hambletonian Oaks winner (2) WHEN DOVESCRY in a spot where the latter hasn’t raced for a purse for more than a month. That may tip the scales in favor of the former. (1) SPECIAL HONOR was 2nd to a win machine in her most recent start. She could take this if she gets some racing luck. (4) SOUTHWIND CASHA looks next best; using underneath.
Race 4 – F&M 4YO and Younger NW1 or $10,500 LT - **GTD $50K Pick 4**
(6) ALLY ELIZABETH comes in off a sharp front-end try and seems to hold a tactical edge on main rival (5) BETSEA. The latter could get overbet here off her last start. Price should be your guide in this dash. (7) GIRL WITH ATTITUDE brings some good form in from out of town and she could provide some exotics value here. (8) REGIL ELECTRON finished fast last time without threatening. She could close for a share here.
Race 5 – WILLIAM WELLWOOD MEMORIAL – Elimination – 2YO
(4) CAPORNICUS and (7) SYNERGY will likely battle it out in this elimination and I could see the former riding in the latter’s pocket to the lane then pouncing. Both should be used in multi-race wagers, however. (6) MOON BRIDGE was a sharp winner in his lone start over this track, but this is tougher. I’ll use him underneath. (2) BLUE CUPERTINO has been right there in every start. He has some upset possibilities here if he trips out following the two choices.
Race 6 – SIMCOE – 3YO Fillies
(4) THE ICE DUTCHESS is the most accomplished filly in here. If she stays flat, she should be tough to beat. (1) MISS TRIXTON – fourth in the Hambletonian Oaks – should be close enough early to fill out the Exacta here. (3) HAVEONEFORME has had an excellent campaign so far earning close to $250K. She merits a look for the exotics here. (7) BRIGHT EYES M should be passing some of these in the back 1/2; using underneath.
Race 7 – F&M 5YO and Younger NW4 or $64,000 – Pick 4
(2) SWEET DIAMOND was unlucky last week, getting nailed by a filly who sat inside the entire mile until she escaped in the last few strides to get up for the win. She gets top call here. (6) BE BEST wasn’t far behind after setting the early pace in the same race. She should be a threat again. (4) SPRINGBRIDGE SASSY should be closing late again for a share. (7) MARY GOODNIGHT is an interesting shipper who gets Roy here. I’ll use her in Tris and Supers.
Race 8 – SIMCOE – Three Year Olds
(5) GREEN MANALISHI S is the class of this field and he will take beating at a short price. (2) ALL WRAPPED UP has been dynamite in his last four starts and he could provide a serious challenge to the choice here. (3) SOUTHWIND AVENGER is always around the money but I prefer to use him underneath in this spot. (6) UNION FORCES disappointed as chalk last time, but he could rally for a share in here now that he had a race over the track.
Race 9 – Fillies and Mares Preferred
(2) YOUAREMYCANDYGIRL was vicious last week, kicking home in 52 4/5 to win easily. Anything close to a repeat makes her very tough here. (4) KISSIN IN THE SAND has raced well here, but she may need to step up her game to beat the choice. (1) DOUBLE A MINT brings it every week and she should get a piece of this. (3) SEASWIFT JOY was no match for the choice last week despite getting a leisurely opening 1/2; for the bottom of Tris and Supers.
Race 10 – F&M NW $7,000 L5 or $14,000 L10 AE: OPT CLM $18,000
(2) WINDSONGMAGNIFIQUE should get a much better trip drawing inside here; slight nod. (1) CATCH AN ACE figures on paper, but she couldn’t seal the deal last week at odds of 1 to 2 racing in this class. What price will you take? (6) SUNDAY AFTERNOON is capable of better and a speed try may be coming on the slight class drop. (3) ROYALTYWESTHO should sit a good trip here then rally; using underneath. (5) BUTTERMILK HANOVER can rally late for a share here.
