Tough race to kick off the Pick 5. I’ll side with (6) AMBERS SHADOW, who may get the best trip racing near the front. (3) WINDSONG PARISIAN made a big move that she couldn’t sustain last time. If she works out an easier trip here, she should be right there. (8) BETCHA BABY is in with a decent shot at a price if she can stay flat this time. (1) BIDFORA HUG is always good for a share at this level.
Race 2 – ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GRASSROOTS – 2YO Colts and Geldings
(2) DAY DELIGHT was dead game in pursuit of the leader last time, but he just couldn’t reach. I’ll give him the nod here. (5) USURPER should go much better here starting with his nose on the gate; using. (9) MY LAND has won all his Grassroots starts, but he may be in for a tough trip here starting from the outside. I’ll use him in the Pick 5 but won’t take a short win price. (8) NATIONAL SPORT missed some time between starts last time. He should be sharper here and he’s not out of this.
Race 3 – ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GRASSROOTS SEMI-FINALS – 2YO Fillies
(8) SCORCHED ROMANCE is getting hot at the best time and she gets the call to notch the threepeat here. (1) YEN is consistent and hard to leave off Pick 5 tickets; using. (5) GODDESS DE VIE was 4 to 5 against the choice and she fell just short. She’s not out of this. (2) MOANA should be coming on late to take another share.
Race 4 – F&M NW $10,000L5 or $20,000 L10 or NW5 LT AE: OPT CLM $25,000 – **GTD $50K Pick 4**
(6) SUNDAY AFTERNOON exits a very fast mile and she lands in a spot where Hudon should send her hard leaving the gate; top call. (2) P L HURRICANE had an impossible trip last time now she gets post relief and she should improve sharply here; using. (1) CATCH AN ACE should come on late to take at least a share. (9) BUTTERMILK HANOVER has improving form. She’s a good one to use on the bottom of Tris and Supers here.
Race 5 – ONTARIO SIRES STAKES SEMI-FINALS – 2YO Colts and Geldings
(10) AWESOMEDABRA took the fastest mark of any of these in her win over this track two starts back and post 10 should add some value; top call. (2) I GOT THE LOOKS is an obvious contender coming off a long trip and moving inside; using. (7) FIT BITT is capable, and his price should be good here coming off a break and a qualifier. (1) KENOGAMI COCO has compiled a great record but she needs more speed to beat these; using underneath.
Race 6 – ONTARIO SIRES STAKES – GRASSROOTS SEMI FINALS – 2YO Colts and Geldings
(6) LOVEDBYTHEMASSES and (5) MAGIC BOB are both undefeated in Grassroots races this year so far, but the former has been faster and gets the nod. I’ll use both in the Pick 4, however. (4) LAVAL TITAN has improving form and he can take a share here. (8) ENDURING STRENGTH should be part of the early pace, but I don’t see him lasting against the top two. I’ll use him on the bottom of the Tri and Super.
Race 7 – ONTARIO SIRES STAKES – GRASSROOTS SEMI-FINALS –2YO Colts and Geldings
(3) MAYHEM HANOVER should assert himself early here and seat the outside speed on his way to a Grassroots semi-final win. (7) NIGHT WATCHMAN exploded to a big Grassroots win last time and Henry has been his best partner. He should be the main threat. Both (9) DELIGHTFUL TERROR and (10) QUICK TOUR would be rated higher if they drew better but the outside draw likely limits them to taking smaller shares this time.
Race 8 – ONTARIO SIRES STAKES SEMI FINALS – 2YO Fillies
(1) BRA IN THE WIND raced better with Cullen driving last time and this race seems to be a prime spot to look for an upset; top call. (4) ZEBS FLUR goes for three straight and she appears to be the one to beat here; using. (6) READY TO DEAL is another with improving form who could upset and add some value to the Pick 4. (9) SHES KADABRA COOL may get overbet here off last week’s win, but she’s not out of this.
Race 9 – ONTARIO SIRES STAKES – GRASSROOTS SEMI-FINALS – 2YO Fillies
(5) SHIRAZ SEELSTER was airborne late last time and almost knocked off the big chalk. She gets the nod here. (6) COQUI COQUI was game in defeat and she gets the best post here; using. (2) LANDRY SEELSTER should get a much better trip here and that puts her in the picture. I’ll toss her in this Pick 4. (8) NEED UR OPINION could better this placing if she works out a decent trip from out there.
Race 10 – ONTARIO SIRES STAKES – GRASSROOTS SEMI-FINALS – 2YO Fillies
(7) MACH MY KISS may get the best trip here tracking a projected quick early pace; top call. (8) KAT barely held on at odds of 10 cents to the dollar last time, but she has shown she is capable of racing much faster and she is still a threat here. (2) CAPISTRANO comes off a sharp win and she is getting hot at the right time; using underneath. (10) SO DELIGHTFUL should be a price here and she can hit the ticket.
Race 11 – F&M NW $15,000 L5 or $33,000 L10 AE: NW $138,000 LT or OPT CLM $35,000
(9) BETTER BE DONNA N was third vs. Mares Preferred types last time and she should be tough in here despite the post. (5) COUSIN MARY paced a 26 3/5 second 1/4 in pursuit of the lead last time and she understandably tired. She can go better here with a less aggressive steer. (3) MANHATTAN AGAIN is capable at this level and she could pick up the pieces if there is any mid-race battling. (10) WINDSUN GLORY also drops, but post could be an issue here; using on the bottom. (7) LYONS HEDGEABET flew home to take a new life’s mark, but she loses Tetrick here. I’ll use her underneath.
