(5) POSEIDON SEELSTER sat last of 10 at the 1/4 then passed them all in a feat rarely seen on this track, let alone in a debut race for a two-year-old; call to repeat. (9) EXAMINER HANOVER’s 1:52 3/5 mile vs. Gold company stacks up well here and he is a must-use for me. (6) MY LAND was impressive winning his second start and he’s another in the mix in this contentious opener. (4) USURPER paced a strong mile in defeat last time, and he should hit the Super ticket here.
Race 2 – NW 3 (F&M 6) or $46K LT
(7) MISS JUBILEE HILL is probably unlucky to still be sitting with no wins this year considering some of the good miles she has trotted recently. She can beat these with a reasonable trip. (4) HEY JOCK trotted a big winning mile one class lower and he should be a big factor right back. (2) PRESTO CHANGE O easily won a class lower then faced Gold company in two straight. She fits much better here and is another that can win this dash. (6) GOLD EDITION’s good early speed should put him in position to get a nice following trip here; consider for exotics.
Race 3 – Fillies and Mares Preferred
You would have to see it to believe how fast (2) DOUBLE A MINT bridged a 6 1/2-length gap in deep stretch last week after taking a shuffle around the far turn. She is clearly very sharp right now and a threepeat looms. (5) SHOWER PLAY AND (4) KENDALLS SEELSTER waged war on July 12th and both eventually paid the price. Then the latter paced a 26 1/5 third quarter last week which may have led to her undoing late. Obviously, either could win this with the right trip. (1) WITCH DALI is likely to be coming late for a small share here.
Race 4 – F&M NW $3.200 L5 or NW $7K L9 - $50K GTD Pick 4
(4) SHARKS SUMMRSHANDY made up a lot of ground in the back 1/2 of a race won be a very tough repeater and this spot looks way easier; top call. (6) NAUGHTY LADY B races better at this level and she should be heard from here. (9) OUR VACATION drops and if McClure puts her into play leaving the gate, she could wake up in a big way. (5) SOUTHWIND ION beats claimers last time but in this tougher spot I’ll use her on the bottom.
Race 5 – F&M NW $15K L5 or NW $28K L10 AE: NW $128,500 LT or OPT CLM $35K
(2) BETTER BE DONNA is on a roll and I’ll give her the slight nod over the class-dropping (5) ALEXIS FAITH who was an easy winner in a higher class the last time she dropped from the Preferred level. (1) BETTER DECISION N steps up off a loss but that was a good effort and she can contend for a share here. (7) PARISIAN BLUE CHIP should be closer in her second start back from a break; consider for exotics.
Race 6 – F&M NW $25K L5 AE: NW $175K LT or OPT CLM $60K
(4) JUST HER LUCK is one of several class droppers in with a shot here. I’ll give her a slight nod in a tough race. (5) AZURE SEELSTER win two straight before getting forced up to the Mares Preferred level. That last line should inflate her price and she is capable. (7) SANDBETWEENURTOES has options starting from the outer post here and she too is capable at this level. (3) AMERICAN SARA should improve enough to hit the Super ticket here.
Race 7 – F&M NW $6,200 L5 or NW $16,600 L10
(5) THRILLONTHEBEACH makes big speed and sustains it when Jamieson drives. She can take another here. (6) FRANSCHOEK can be a big threat here if she can avoid taking a shuffle this time; using. (3) MISS MADY is in very good form racing in this class and I expect another good try here. (1) MAKE MINE MOCHA drops and gets Roy. She can improve sharply in this spot.
Race 8 – NW $3K L5 or $7K L10 – Pick 4
(4) ENCHANTED MISSION made a big move at a huge price last week and won easier than it looks; call to repeat. (1) MISTER OF ALL is the kind that J Mac trips out near the front and pounces late with; using. (5) NOTHING BUT MUSCLE’s 1:55 1/5 qualifier puts him right in the mix here and I’ll toss him on my late Pick 4 ticket. (3) POLLAR HALL should get placed near the front early and he can hang around for a slice.
Race 9 – NW $11K L5 or $22K L10 AE: OPT CLM $30K or NW $75K LT
(3) SPORTSLINE meets no Tyga Hanovers here and he should get back to his winning ways. (1) FAST N FIRST was close to the classy Bronx Seelster last week. If he can land in the choice’s pocket at the start, he has a chance to upset. (2) BR EZLIKSUNDYMORNIN has been racing great out of town, but this is tougher; smaller share predicted. (5) PRO BEACH is likely to take another slice in this spot.
Race 10 – F&M NW $10K L5 or $22K L10 AE: OPT CLM $25K – Can Am Pick 4 – Leg 1
(2) MANHATTAN AGAIN steps up again looking for three straight wins but if she produces the same kind of effort again, she’ll have a good chance of converting. (6) SKATER CHICK exits a fast race where she was game in defeat vs. a very tough rival; using. (7) KLOOF STREET drops again and she’ll be dangerous here if she can work out a slightly better trip. (1) OUTLAW IMAHOTVIXEN should close for another small share vs. these.
Race 11 – 4YO and Younger NW2 or $25K LT – Can Am Pick 4 Leg 3
(8) CAPTAIN NASH drops back to non-winners of two where he has already won, and this spot is much easier; top call. (5) BETTER UP tried to sweep the field last week in a good try. A better start should put him right there with THESE. (2) COTREZ THE KILLER re-rallied late at a big price last week. I’ll use him underneath again in this spot. (9) JOE SIX PACK raced better last week and he’s worth a look at a price here. (4) PERKINS gets McNair for a return drive; he can get onto the High 5 ticket here.
