Spot Plays – 1- 1 / $3.60 (+$1.60)
Best Bet – A ROYAL LINE (6TH)
Spot Play – HEAVENSDOOR HANOVER (2ND)
Pick 5 – 1,4,6,8/8/1,7/2,3,4,5/1,5,8 = $19.20
Early Pick 4 – 2,3,4,5/1,5,8/8/7,8,9 = $36
Late Pick 4 – 7,8,9/5,7,8/1,9/2,4,7 = $54
Race 1 – 4YO and younger NW1 or $8,800 LT - **$50,000 GTD Pick 5**
(8) EATAAMSBETTERSHARK qualified well enough to suggest that he could be ready for a big debut effort and having Roy driving may signal intent. I’ll take a stab here in the opener. (6) LOBEL BRUISER gives mixed signals because he comes off a super effort in defeat but now has missed three weeks. He could get overbet here. (1) BEE TWO BEE had an excuse last time. He is worth a Pick 5 look in this field. (4) GOING FAST has improving form and he should be in the exotics mix here.
Race 2 –4YO and Younger NW2 (F&M3) or $20,000 (F&M $25,000)
(8) HEAVENSDOOR HANOVER tried to leave last time, but several others to his inside were also on ‘go’ at the start and he was forced wide. He put in an excellent effort considering his trip and he has a better chance to clear these; top call. (5) GO TIME tried her luck in the Breeders Crown and she wasn’t disgraced. She should contend here. (2) BEADS raced in the final of the Breeders Crown and broke stride. He obviously has the speed and talent for these, but I can’t take a short price after his gait issues resurfaced. (1) MATTYS SMILIN is good enough to come on late for a share against these despite missing 2 1/2 weeks.
Race 3 – HARVEST SERIES – 1ST LEG – ONT SIRED 3YO COLTS AND GELDINGS
(1) OKEANOS has faced better and he returns much quicker this time and he should be tough if he stays within range of these. (7) P L MATT had a good tightener for this. Expect a more aggressive try this time. (2) RED HOT TORCH should be well-placed early and that gives him a good chance to share in this short field. (3) ORLYS PRIDE ships in and gets Roy to drive so he could be on blast leaving; using on the bottom.
Race 4 – CLM $15,000 For NW $48,000 LT - **$50,000 GTD Pick 4**
(2) NO TIME AT ALL and (4) ST LADS CASH finished close together in the fastest recent mile of any of these and they should battle for the win here. Slight nod to the former who may get the jump on his rival. (3) MACHO POLO can be a speed threat here and if he gets a breather, he may be hard to catch. (5) GO RRRILLA is worth a look for the exotics off the fellows claim.
Race 5 – F&M NW $6,000 L5 or $13,500 L10 or NW $85,000 LT AE: OPT CLM $15,000
(5) HELLO LOVE drops, and she stands a good chance to pop vs. these. (8) BIDFORA HUG is sharp and she also drops. I think she contends here despite drawing poorly. (1) BETTER SINGLE comes off a sharp effort and she should be coming again late for a slice here. (6) CHARMBO BRIE is one that has outrun her odds a few times in the past. Consider using her on the bottom.
Race 6 – HARVEST SERIES – 1ST LEG 3YO COLTS AND GELDINGS
(8) A ROYAL LINE faces much easier here and Henry should be looking to blast and send him right down the road. (6) MEEAS DREAM was no secret here last week, taking plenty of action both early and late and he should pose a threat here. (4) WHILE YOUR UP continues to race close but he is stuck on one win. He gets a notable barn change here. (1) ARCANUM figures to pass a few of these and take a share.
Race 7 – FILLIES AND MARES PREFERRED – Pick 4
(9) DOUBLE A MINT has had an excellent campaign and that the Mares Preferred isn’t run every week may be helping keep her fresh as we approach the end of the year; slight nod. (8) KENDALL SEELSTER is an obvious contender coming out of the Breeders Crown Final; using. (7) SANDBETWEENURTOES looks next best and she should contend for at least a share here. (5) LYONS HEDGEABET is quite sharp, and she should make her way into the Tri and Super in this spot.
Race 8 – NW $6,000 L5 or $13,000 L10 AE: OPT CLM $20,000 – 1 3/8 Miles - #10 and #11 are Trailers
I suspect that (7) WHAT A RUSH – who always seems to be going forward, but sometimes only gradually – will like this 1 3/8 miles distance so I’ll land here. (5) ZEUS LIGHTNING could clear here and take these a long way on the lead; using. (8) WHAT CHAPTER has a similar profile to the choice, and I think he will like the added distance, so I’ll use him in this Pick 4. (1) BANK GUARD steps up off a narrow win but he should race near the front here which could be the place to be; using underneath.
Race 9 – NW 4 (F&M5) or $42,500 LT
(1) JUMPSHOT gets a barn change to Moreau here and he exits the OSS Superfinal so there are reasons to expect sharp improvement; top call. (9) ROYAL ESTEEM just took a new life’s mark and he is likely the one to beat here. (5) WINGS OF SPEED produced an impressive late brush to win last time. He isn’t out of this. (6) SOUTHWIND CASHA should leave hard for position and stick around for a share.
Race 10 – NW $3,000 L5 or $7,000 L9
(2) SLY ELEANOR N makes her third start back here and she is more than capable in this class. I expect sharp improvement here. (4) KAYS SHADOW drops back down to her best level here and she should be one of the main contenders racing near the front. (7) ARTISTIC MADISON also drops, and she fits well vs. this group but she has only recorded two wins so far this year. She can win but don’t take a short price. (8) WHISTYS PARADISE should pass a few of these late and make it into the Super. (9) MAKE MINE MOCHA faces easier here but from this post she likely finishes on the fringes.
