The first crop of Captaintreacherous was well represented at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Saturday night in three divisions of the Eternal Camnation for juvenile pacing fillies and three divisions of the Nassagaweya for rookie pacing colts and geldings.

Captain Crunch got the ball rolling in the first C$92,127 division of the Nassagaweya with an eye-catching 1:52 score, his third straight in as many starts. From the Nancy Johansson stable Captain Crunch scored for driver Scott Zeron, going wire-to-wire. Goldberg closed well for second, with Lyons Johnny JNR a distant third.

"He's well-mannered," said Zeron, "I just sent him to the front to get him out of the way."

Captain Ahab remained unbeaten in the second C$92,127 Nassagaweya division, but there were moments he looked vulnerable. Andrew McCarthy guided the Captaintreacherous-sired colt off a second-over trip but had to fend off a menacing Lyons Night Hawk in the 1:51 4/5 mile. Sports Teen finished third in the mile. Tony Alagna trains the winner of five straight.

"He does love passing horses," said McCarthy.

"He's a very gifted colt," said Alagna.

Star Party spoiled the Captaintreacherous party for at least one race as he captured the final C$92,127 Nassagaweya division in dominant fashion. The son of Bettor's Delight, sent postward at 1-5, romped in 1:52 2/5 for driver David Miller and trainer Casie Coleman. The multiple Ontario Sires Stakes Gold division winner made a blistering move to the front on the backstretch and never looked back. Stag Party passed the wire first for the fifth time in as many starts with his lone blemish being a disqualification.

Key West gave Captaintreacherous's trainer Tony Alagna a victory in the first C$84,116 Eternal Camnation division. Brett Miler sent the filly by the first-crop sire to the front and, although she needed urging, got her home in 1:52 4/5 ahead of Ideation Hanover and Queen Of Pride.

"I knew I made a mistake when I pulled to go to the front," Miller said following the victory. "But she dug in."

Key West, a 1-5 offering, won for the third time in five career starts.

The Alagna-Captain team doubled up when Tall Drink Hanover rolled home effortlessly as the 1-9 favorite in the final C$84,116 Eternal Camnation division. Tall Drink Hanover tucked early and then hustled to the front for driver McCarthy, romping home in 1:52 4/5, well ahead of runner-up Kylie Seelster and Blossom Onthebeach.

It was the third straight victory for Tall Drink Hanover, a filly from Take Into Account purchased for $35,000 at last year's Harrisburg auction.

The Sportswriter-sired Quebec Blue Chip got the benefit of a heady Jody Jamieson steer to capture the second C$83,115 Eternal Camnation division, going wire-to-wire and holding favored Odds On St Lucie at bay during a stern stretch drive. Dave Menary trains the first-year filly with five wins in seven tries and earnings in excess of C$200,000. Prescient Beauty rallied late for the third spot.

"I got to steal the second quarter," said Jamieson, who got a 30 1/5 quarter en route to the 1:53 2/5 victory.
