Woodbine Mohawk Park: Armbro Flight final won by Hey Livvy

Hey Livvy and driver Trevor Henry moved sharply to the front past the quarter-mile marker and cut the rest of the fractions en route to capturing the C$220,000 Armbro Flight Stakes final for trotting mares on Saturday night at Woodbine Mohawk Park in a 1:51 2/5 mile.
Hey Livvy left well from the inside, with Swedish import Felicityshagwell jetting past her entering the first turn and Plunge Blue Chip rolling up on the outside. Atlanta, the 3-5 betting favorite, made a break just past the start and was never a factor. With the quarter timed in 27 3/5, Trevor Henry put
Hey Livvy in motion, and she quickly took control and went on to cut solid fractions of 55 2/5 and 1:23 3/5 before turning into the homestretch.
Hey Livvy left her rivals in the dust in early stretch and though Felicityshagwell made up some ground late to make things interesting, it was only for second. Plunge Blue Chip held down the third spot late.
Jeff Gillis trains Hey Livvy, who won for the sixth time in 2020, for co-owners Blue Chip Bloodstock and Ellen Ott. Henry also shares ownership in the 5-year-old daughter of Donato Hanover, who has had trouble in the past maintaining her composure.
"I got part of her given to me because I was able to get along with her," said Henry following the race. "She's still pretty difficult to drive, but she's a fast mare."
Sent off at 5-1, Hey Livvy paid $12.70 for the victory.
