Top Pick Stats: 176/534 (-$194.70) Best Bets: 19/48 (-$22.80); Spot Plays: 9/49 (-$52.50) Best Bet: COLD CREEK PANTERA (Race 2) Spot Play: FLORIDA GUY (Race 5) Early Pick-5: 1,2,5/6/3,8/6,7,9/7   $3.60 Late Pick-5: 1,4,7/4,5/5,7/5,6/9   $4.80 Race 1: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES: PROSPECT STARTERS NW $10,000 LAST 5 STARTS. (1) SWEETEST TRIX was rolling on the front in her latest but jumped it off. She was able to get away on the lead from the rail where she leaves from tonight, so that isn’t a worry. J-Mac returns to the bike, and I’ll count on him working out a winning steer. (2) DEMIROSE was a solid third in her career debut. I would expect her to improve in her second career start, and especially over the Mohawk oval where she qualified in a decent time for this group. (5) THE GOOSE PRINCESS showed sneaky ability in her miles when racing from further back, and it looked like she would have a chance to put it all together last week, but she jumped it off. Louis Roy picks up the lines tonight and could have her rolling early. (3) JUST CALL ME BELLA is the only filly here who has a win under her belt. I would look for her to work from off the pace and get a share. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $8,500 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.  AE: 3YO N/A $1,515 PS IN 2025 (6) COLD CREEK PANTERA saved all the ground in his latest and passed rivals to snag a third place finish. That’s two efforts in a row that I thought were good. He faces an easier bunch tonight; I would look for a big effort to be put forward by this son of Panther Hanover. (8) PARLAY KING produced a wicked back half out of seemingly nowhere to pull off the upset two starts ago. Grassroots competition was a bit more than he was likely ready for, but he makes sense on the drop in class. (2) CORPORATE BUSINESS is a solid, grindy type at this level who is always putting himself in contention with overland trips. He is a logical use on exotic tickets most weeks. (3) BUSINESSONTHEBEACH debuts for the Justin Turcotte barn and gets the leading driver on the circuit for his first trip around the Mohawk oval. He is a bit of an unknown commodity who I’ll slide in underneath. Race 3: 2 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: NW 1 RACE OR $8,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (3) JOSES TRIPLETS was a bargain purchase at the Harrisburg sale, but made his mark right away with a strong back half to dead heat for a win at Vernon Downs. He ships into Mohawk and should improve under solid connections. (8) LEGENDS RULE was one I took a shot with on debut. His August 15 qualifier was visually impressive to me. I thought he paced home fine after getting away at the back, and is certainly not a horse I’ll give up on after just one start. (7) ARTILLERY SEELSTER has the speed and talent to put together a winning effort, but he showed his quirks again last week when going wide on the final turn. I’m not willing to put him on top as the potential favorite. (6) FULL OF COLORS set decent fractions when cutting the mile in his latest and ended up finishing third. He could be dangerous if he finds a helmet to follow. I’ll use him underneath in a competitive event. Race 4: NW $1,500 LAST 5 STARTS OR NW OF $7,550 LAST 10 STARTS AE: OPT. CLM. $12,500. (6) PILLOW THIEF was a dominant winner in his latest when dropping to this level. He draws a perfect post to be forward from and picks up J-Mac. Despite last week being just his first win of 2025, I would expect a double up. (9) HP RUN DETECTOR is slowly but surely improving with each recent start. He should be much tighter tonight than even a few weeks ago. The post will only add value. (7) GIVE ME KARETS K has been putting up some good races from off the pace. There is always a chance that the front-end speed falters in the late stages at a level like this, which could set him up perfectly. (2) FASTNET ROCK was a decent third place finisher in his latest, and now picks up Tyler Borth for his third start off the claim. He could get more out of this son of Archangel and pick up a share. Race 5: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (FM 3) RACE OR $8,500 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. AE: 3 YO N/A $1,315 P/S IN 2025. (7) FLORIDA GUY produced a visually impressive rally in the back half of his career debut. He came from double-digit lengths behind and rallied into contention, swinging wide and passing everyone at a huge price. He picks up James Macdonald for his first trip around the Mohawk oval. I’ll take a swing. (2) LAND THE PLANE was just a little too far back in his career debut after being floated out, but he was still able to make up plenty of ground and finish a strong second. I would expect improvement in his second career start which could be enough to land him in the winner’s circle. (9) HADLEY was a game winner two starts ago in a race where she made two moves. Despite the wide draw, I think she will be pointed forward and produce another good effort. (1) ITS NOT MY VAULT tried the front when leaving from the widest post but faded in the late stages to finish fourth. The rail draw should allow her to try and find a live helmet this week, which could vault her into contention. Race 6: 3 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: GRASSROOTS OR PROSPECT STARTERS. (1) DAY pulled off the slight upset in her latest after trotting a strong back half. Her loyal backers were rewarded after a few weeks of torching money. She is in better form right now, and the Blais barn continues to roll. (4) CALL ME PARKER had to work from farther off the pace last week, which resulted in him closing well again, but only for a share. He draws a perfect post to be forwardly placed from this week. (2) GETTHEGREEN has back class from his freshman season, and has a mark this year that would roll over these, but he has been inconsistent to say the least. I’ll let him beat me at a shorter price than he’s worth. (7) FAST SNAP has the versatility to make him worth a look, and the addition of Lasix could help him out. He is worth using on exotics tickets. Race 7: FILLIES & MARES CLAIMING $8,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (5) MY ONLY SUNSHINE rolled on the front end last week, which coincided with her adding Lasix. She raced just fine three starts ago at Mohawk, and is a logical candidate to double up. (4) DEL DIGGITY continues to show she has a nose for the wire, and the wins have come with different styles in recent weeks. She is having another excellent season. (6) CENTURY LUNAR is showing slight improvement in her last two efforts and reunites with J-Mac, but is yet to win this season. Watch the tote board and will pays with her. (2) KATYS DELIGHT is hit and miss at this level, but has shown decent closing kick at Mohawk in the past and could be moving well late to get a piece. Race 8: 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES: PROSPECT STARTERS NW $10,000 LAST 5 STARTS. (7) STELLRMANIPULATION gets a solid drop from Grassroots competition, and clearly has the speed to roll over this group if she gets any kind of trip. I don’t think she is any kind of stone cold lock, but I do think she has the best chance to win. (5) TWIN B BODACIOUS is having a very strong season at three, including six wins. She has come up short in two straight Prospect starts, but is knocking at the door, and picks up Doug McNair tonight who should have her on the move in the early stages. (6) WICKED CRUIZER can be forgiven for her latest effort where she was parked for the mile. She was a strong second two starts ago when forwardly placed, and I think those same tactics could be in store tonight. (8) P L SUZIE has a strong move to her, but it needs to be timed right, and for my money, it’s too much of a risk. Especially because she can easily get away last and be closing for a share. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: 3 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: PROSPECT STARTERS. (5) THE MAGIC MOMENT returned to the Guillemette barn last week and pulled away with ease as a big favorite. He showed big pop two starts ago at Mohawk when pacing a back half in 53 seconds. The white hot son of Control The Moment makes a lot of sense here. (6) FIVE STAR LOU is excelling at the Prospect level, and gave a decent account of herself when shipping into Mohawk and racing against faster horses. I think Jamieson gets aggressive and gets her a good trip. (4) THAI TOUR has been doing decent work from off the pace and picking up shares, but the key is picking up James Macdonald. I think he could get more out of this colt and add some value to exotics. (1) INTUIT BIG was closing very well in the stretch, and it looked like she was going to go by, but she came up just short. I would expect her to be outsprinted early and look to make her closing kick work, but the amount of second place finishes in recent weeks gives cause to pause. Race 10: CLAIMING HANDICAP $8,000 TO $11,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000. (9) PICK A GENRE was hammered in the late stages of the betting and showed why. He streaked away to an eight length victory in last week’s Pop-Up Final. I’ll go back to him after that blowout. (2) TRIDENT SEELSTER managed to hold onto third in that same race and is another veteran who is having an excellent season. He retains J-Mac and can produce another good finish. (6) BET NINTEEN came up short as the big favorite last week but raced well. I would expect Roy to have him forward again. He can hit the board. (7) HES SWIFT tired badly after making the lead in that Pop-Up Final. A return to the Poliforni barn could see a rebound for a share. (5) THATSWHATISAID N gets away from the rail which should give him more trip options. He can round out tonight’s Hi-5.
