Race 1: 2YO NW1 or $5,000 **Gtd. $100,000 Pick 5**
(4) GUNG HO was impressive in defeat last week, pacing a 53 4/5 back 1/2 uncovered in defeat and he is the clear top pick to kick off the Pick 5. (6) CENTURY J ROCK had a tough trip combined with an equipment break racing in the slop in Clinton. That race is a toss. He can be an Exacta factor here. (1) BETTER B SIRIUS should sit close to the pace tonight and land a share. (7) BACK POCKET MIKI flew late last week. He can sneak into the bottom of the Tri or Super tonight.

Race 2: 2YO NW1 or $5,000
(7) CARDIO MUSCLE will likely be chalk here after placing in a Gold race last time at Flamboro. She has a good chance to convert. $100,000 Lexington buy (6) WHIZZER WALLEE looks ready for a good debut race and he will be part of my Pick 5 ticket. (2) MISS EXPO is from the first crop of a stallion who won his first four starts and a Grand Circuit final here at 2. She is related to several winners including Saundra, who was a Gold winner here at 3 this year. She is worth a look on debut. (5) FRENCHY HANOVER was okay in his second start and she got a needed clean line. She is in the exotics mix.

Race 3: 4YO and Younger NW1 or $7,000 LT
(8) HEART OF DIXIE is 0 for 9, but he is fastest in here and he should get the job done tonight. (1) BETTER SUNSET was the leading driver's pick over the choice and in a race like this, that's enough for me to include him in the Pick 5. (2) HIDE YOUR MULA's final 1/4's have gotten faster every race. He is a sneaky use for me in here. (4) WATCHOUTFORTROUBLE hasn’t been beating much at Kawartha Downs, but there are no world beaters in here, either. He isn't out of this.
Race 4: NW $10,000 L5 or $24,000 L10 or NW5 LT - Pick 4
(3) WHITE TIGER was absolutely flying late last week but unfortunately for him it was Pemberton in front of him as they neared the wire. He looks good here and I expect an aggressive steer. (8) UNEVERGONNAGETHIS is obviously fast enough to win this, but he is a Gold horse racing between stakes starts. What price will you accept? (6) FREE WILLY HANOVER gets needed post relief here and he should get better position early which should lead to a top 3 finish for him. (2) MUSCLE FASHION is capable of better than he showed last week. Consider him for the bottom of the exotics.
Race 5: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GRASSROOTS Fifth Leg 3YO Colts and Geldings
(8) TYMAL TIGGS drops out of Golds to try Grassroots here and he is going to need to compile points in a hurry so an aggressive try is very likely; top call. I have to think that (2) ARMSTEAD COLE was short the way he backed up after setting easy fractions last week. Maybe that race was a tightener that he needed coming into this Grassroots start; using. (6) WARRAWEE XALT is getting faster at the right time and he is another live option for multi-race tickets.
Race 6: NW $3,000 L5 or $8,000 L5 AE: Starters for a purse of $10K or less L3 or OPT CLM $20K - Pick 5
(9) MR CONTESTANT faces much easier here and he gets Filion back. He should head to the front leaving the gate and lead these on a merry chase. (6) AUSSIE LOVER left for position but then stayed in and rallied late. He had missed a month then, now he comes back in a week. He has upset potential here. (3) MIDNIGHT MIRACLE comes off a good try at Grand River and he fits okay here. He can share. (5) WISHYOUDTELLME does better when he leaves fast. Maybe Sorrie will use his good post tonight and get position; price look for the exotics.
Race 7: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GRASSROOTS Fifth Leg 3YO Colts and Geldings - Pick 4
(8) RESOLUTE BAY has caught fire recently and Macdonald has been a good partner for him. He should prove tough to beat in here. (7) ARCHERY SEELSTER just took a slice in a Grand Circuit race and he figures to be the main threat here. (9) RADIO LAB produced a decent closing effort and stayed flat now I think he gets more aggressive; price look for the exotics. (2) ROYAL CHAMPANE likely sits a trip and takes a small share here.

Race 8: 2YO Fillies NW1
(4) COMPASSROSE DE VIE flashed some good late speed last week and I'll give her a slight nod in a wide-open race. (3) HELLO LIFE is a debuting Darling homebred that looks live; using. (5) HAVING A PARTY seems to be coming around quickly for the Gallucci barn and she is another in with a shot here. (1) TALK CURDY TO ME is another debutante that could make some noise on debut here.
Race 9: NW $20,000 L5 or $37,000 L10
(6) PEMBERTON's win last week is much better than it looks on paper considering how long he raced uncovered in the back 1/2. If he is "back" he will jog on these tonight. (2) HP MAMA B is the obvious threat dropping out of the Earl Rowe if there is going to be a threat. (7) PIKACHU HANOVER comes off a nice effort at the top level and he should be in the exotics mix. (8) DREAM NATION should improve on the drop and take a share here.
Race 10: Pop Up series starters AE: Starters for a purse of $11,000 or less L4
Good betting race here to finish off the late multi-race bets. (1) ANDY OVER has been sharp and consistent for several weeks and he could get the best trip here; slight nod. (3) VILLEFRANCHE AS set some big splits and held the choice off last week and she should be the one to catch again. (7) RED OVERBACH has been on fire beating sophomores but the main focus of this race is likely to keep him fit between stakes starts so I wouldn't take a short price. (9) TEXACO MAN is around the money every week it seems; price look for the exotics. (4) MYSTIC rarely misses a check racing in Pop Up company; using underneath.
