Race 1: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GRASSROOTS Leg 4 2YO Colts and Geldings **Guaranteed $100,000 Pick 5**
(1) NEW RULES trotted two good miles from outside posts now he draws inside. This improving gelding gets a slight nod in the opener. (7) RESOLVE TO WIN has the fastest mark in this field and he gets regular driver Macdonald back after breaking stride last time. He will be right there if he stays flat. (3) ROUGH TUFF TESTED raced much better in the Grassroots last time and he is another in with a shot in a field with a few options. (2) LAVA FIELD is another that has improving form that merits a close look tonight using.

Race 2: 2YO Fillies NW $10,000 LT
Tough race here; I'll side with (6) ARRHYTHMIC DREAM who comes out of a slow race at Ocean Downs where she raced okay but moves into the Moreau barn for this second start. (10) HORIZONTAL comes into this debut off two good winning qualifying efforts but she draws worst. You don't see many 2YO debut winners from post 10 at this track, but this one is in with a shot. (7) SPLASH OF PINK has paced sub-28 kickers in every start but she hasn't been close enough at the 3/4 to make an impression in the lane. She has upset potential tonight. (2) WINDSUN TIARA is one of only two winners in this field and she picks up Macdonald for this. She should be in the exotics mix.

Race 3: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GRASSROOTS Leg 4 2YO Colts and Geldings
(4) BUSTING WITH PRIDE made a huge move to break his maiden in the third Grassroots leg and this peaking gelding will be a Pick 5 single for me tonight. (3) FANTASTIC MVP was a distant 3rd to the choice last time but he looks logical to complete the Exacta tonight. (7) MR EXPERIENCE exits a fast mile and e should be closer here; using underneath. (5) HAMILTON DE VIE flashed speed and tired in his debut. I imagine he sits and rallies now; using underneath.
Race 4: 2YO Colts and Geldings NW $11,500 LT - Pick 4
(9) WATCHMAKER flew late to win his debut and this field is no tougher; call to repeat. (7) BETTER OPTION had some late pace last time but he was out of position. He gets Henry back and he is worth using here. (3) SERGEANT SLAUGHTER is showing progression and he is another in with a chance in here. (4) GILLIGANS HOOLIGAN’s second qualifier was much better than his first attempt. He can be in the exotics mix on debut.
Race 5: 4YO and Younger NW1 or $7,000 LT
(4) CHOCOLATE PARFAIT trotted a terrific back 1/2 on debut and he will be tough to beat here if he gets put into the race earlier. (1) TYMAL TWYLA raced well in her debut and even better next time out. The bigger track should play to her good late kick; using. (8) JACKED had a bit of an adventurous trip when 2nd in his debut at Grand River. He picks up Henry here who was named on two others and he is in with a shot. (5) MASSIAH closed a gap late last time and he can hit the ticket tonight.
Race 6: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GRASSROOTS Leg 4 2YO Colts and Geldings - Pick 5
(6) DARBYSHIRE broke last week but he was 2 for 2 with Macdonald in the bike previous to that miscue and that teamster returns tonight. This colt draws best and he gets the nod. (4) FLOYD THE FREAK comes out of a fast race and my gut tells me he will be more aggressive in this spot tonight using. (7) CRUISING TOM finished just behind Floyd The Freak last time and he gets McClure back now. He is another multi-race ticket option. (8) GLENFIDICH likely rallies late for a share.
Race 7: 2YO Colts and Geldings NW $11,500 LT - Pick 4
In a race with no standout, I'll take a swing with (5) GANDOLF THE BLACK, who gets a much better post tonight and Macdonald in the bike for the first time. (1) DICE R OUT is the obvious danger coming off a solid debut and drawing better here using. (2) BETTER B SIRIUS has been right there in two straight and he figures to be one of the main threats again tonight. I'll use him in the late multi-race tickets. (9) THERSOMTHINGGOINON looks good enough to take a small share from out there.
Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GRASSROOTS Leg 4 2YO Colts and Geldings
This Grassroots dash should be a battle between (8) NOTHINGBUTADREAMER and (3) TAKE ON ME. Nod to the former who has shown better late kick recently. (9) ALL STAR YANKEE is improving and he is in with an upset chance here despite drawing widest. (2) WATCH A PRO is another improving sort that can land in the exotics here.

Race 9: 3YO Fillies Grassroots starters NW $41,000 in 2022
(8) SAINT ANTONE had lots of trot late last week, she was just too far back. She should be closer by default in this field that has two fewer starters and I will stick with her. (3) ANGELONIA comes off a strong two move effort where she took her first win of the year and she is the one to beat here. (2) HALO ITS HEAVEN made front, yielded, took a shuffle, then came again. She is another that is an obvious threat here. (1) CALM COOL COLLECTD should get a trip near the front and take a share.
Race 10: NW $5,600 L5 or NW $15,000 L10 AE: OPT CLM $30,000
This is a race that should be dominated by the two class droppers (6) KAMERAN HANOVER and (7) FREE WILLY HANOVER. Slight nod to the former who drew better. (8) THE PRINCE also drops and he got bet a little last week vs. better and flashed speed. He will be a better price and is worth using on late multi-race tickets. (1) MACHO MARTINI is starting to look like a reasonable facsimile of his former self but he is no lock in here and I think he gets overbet. I will try to beat him. (2) MISTER OF ALL showed speed and tired last time vs. lesser. He likely sits and rallies for a slice tonight.
