This is an easier spot for (3) TOP SHELF and I think she gets more aggressive from her inside draw. I'll stick with her. (7) AVAS ANGEL BABY was even in her debut mile which included a 27-flat kicker. She gets the leading driver now and she should be a threat. (6) ROSE RUN YVETTE is one of only two winners in this field and she finished ahead of the top two choices last time. Her speed makes her dangerous. (1) QUITE BEACHY should be good for a share starting from the inside tonight.

Race 2: Winners of 4 (F&M5) but not more than 6 (F&M7) or $80,000 LT AE: 4YO and 5YO to be claimed for $60,000

Tough race with a couple of sophomores in here with intent questionable. Expecting improvement in the second start for Montini from (3) MRMAYOR HANOVER I'll give him a slight nod. This is a field that (6) GAINES HANOVER should beat, but he has missed more than three weeks and I could see him closing well but too late. I'd be careful here. (1) MIDNIGHT MIRACLE can fly late when she stays covered up to the 1/8th pole and she could nail these with the right trip; using. (2) BELLA CAVALLA showed a new dimension last week, blasting off the gate for the lead. She is sharp and she should get another good share tonight.

Race 3: 5YO and younger NW1 or $7,000 LT

(2) BELLA DAMA was going to win or finish a close 2nd last week if she didn't jump it off at the top of the stretch. She may have been affected by the wet track that night. I'll give her the nod here. (5) P L QUINELLA had the trainer in the bike for four of his last five starts and in the other race, he had broken equipment. He could turn things around in a hurry tonight with J Mac taking the lines. (7) ARCHANGELS GLIDING qualified okay for this, and he is worth a look for the exotics. (1) TYRONE BOW TIE is another that should be in the exotics mix in this field.

Race 4: 2YO fillies NW1 or $5,000 - Pick 4

(1) SHORT CHANGED had little chance in both of her first two starts but she did show a good closing kick. This is a spot where she could break through at a price; top call. (5) ABIKADABRA comes off a solid Grassroots try, and she should have a good chance in this spot; using. (6) THE RIGHT TIME takes a big drop and Borth will likely put her in play this time. She is another in with a shot. (7) C KAN TROT will likely use her speed to get position early then stick around for a share.

Race 5: 2YO colts and geldings NW1 or $5,000

(9) HEDGE FUND WIZARD’s debut over this track where he finished 4th in a Gold is good enough to win this race and he gets top billing despite drawing widest. (3) ROYAL BELUGA was also good on debut in the Millard Farms elimination. He will be a threat here if he can stay flat. (6) SPIROS is another one coming off a break in stride that can be in the mix in this spot if he behaves. This race could turn into a war of attrition with the result being dependent on which ones stay flat. (4) NZURI can close for another small share in this spot.

Race 6: 5YO and younger NW1 or $5,000 LT - Pick 5

(2) BETS SHOW OFF drops to a logical spot vs. maidens after taking a share in a fast Grassroots race in Ottawa and he is the one to beat here. (7) HIGHLAND HOT SAUCE came up against a razor sharp The Serpent last week and he could do no better than just chase that rival home. He looks like an Exacta factor right back. (6) P L QUARANTINE’s good debut at Kawartha makes him interesting for the exotics here. His 1/2-sister P L Portia has seven wins in 29 starts to date. (4) MATTS GEM should be good for a slice if he stays flat.

Race 7: 2YO fillies NW1 or $5,000 LT - Pick 4

(6) HIT THE BANK shows Gold lines that suggest that she will handle these easily if she stays flat. (2) P L RACHEL produced a nice late kick in her second start, and she should be the main threat to the choice if there is going to be one. (1) WEST RIVER IVORY is in the mix in every start, and she has enough gate speed to get position early then hang around for a share. (3) QUEEN CABAL raced against a winner who came right back to win a Grand Circuit elimination for fun. She could better this placing.

Race 8: 2YO fillies who are Grassroots starters in 2023

(7) R LIZA is undefeated racing against Grassroots types, and she gets the nod here to keep that streak going. (5) RHYTHM OF LIFE trotted an impressive winning mile to break her maiden last time and she should be the main threat to the choice tonight. (2) TWIN B FLING has done nothing wrong in any of her three starts. She is another in with a chance. (1) FLIRTY DANCER is better racing from behind and I think she closes for a share here.

Race 9: 2YO colts and geldings who are Grassroots starters in 2023

(4) WAYS N MEANS will likely have the lead to himself again tonight and he could prove tough to catch. (5) LOOKPROUD looked good rolling past his rivals to take a Grassroots win in his second start and he should be the one to fend off late here; using. (3) ROYAL DUHARAS appreciated the drop from Golds to Grassroots and he made two moves to win, but I prefer to use him underneath here. (1) R NO MERCY should be good for another share off a following trip here.

Race 10: 2YO colts and geldings NW1 or $5,000 LT

$165K yearling (3) TIMEISONMYSIDE gets J Mac back and meets a field that he should be able to handle in this third start. (5) FIREARM shows some of the fastest kickers and his late speed should play in here; using. (2) PIRATES SHADOW hasn't raced in more than a month, but he looks like one of the best ones in here; exotics factor. (4) JIMMY JETS draws inside for the first time, and he is bred to be better than he has shown so far; price look. (7) BET ON SUNSHINE could sneak into the bottom of the exotics with McNair taking over tonight.
