Race 1: F&M 4YO and Younger NW2 or $30,000 LT **$75,000 Guaranteed Pick 5**
(1) DOCS HARMONY faces tougher after breaking her maiden last week, but she could get another good pace trip with a few of these potentially using this race as a springboard to their next stakes engagement; call to upset. (2) MIA CULPA has looked great in her past two starts while powering up in the lane and she is a must-use for me here. (3) GREYSTONE NATALI O knew what to do with her good trip last time as she powered by the leader late. She is another possibility in a contentious opener. (7) SMILING DIALING should find this company more to her liking, but I'm not sure she'll get the trip she needs, and I wouldn't take a short price.
Race 2: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GOLD 2YO FILLIES
(3) SPORTS CHECK was an upset winner at first asking in fast time and she looks good to repeat here. (1) BETCHULOVEME was flying late and she should be the main threat. (4) CITY BY THE BAY is worth a look for the Tri coming out of a nice qualifier where she was fast late. (2) RING OF KERRY is out of a damn that was tough as nails and she could better this placing if she gets a trip at first asking.
Race 3: NW8 or $120,000 LT (F&M $175,000)
(8) GRANDMA HEIDI brings excellent form north from New Jersey and she moves into the top trainer's barn. She should be tough to beat. (1) PIKACHU HANOVER comes off a lifetime-best score and he should be the main threat. (9) STEUBEN HANOVER obviously fits here but starting from the 9-hole and coming off a race where he broke several times makes me use him underneath only. (3) P L MATT should be closer early this week and that makes him an exotics threat.
Race 4: F&M 4YO and Younger NW2 or $15,000 LT - Pick 4
(2) MAJOR BATTLE was shut off several times in the lane on June 25th when she appeared to have plenty of late pace to offer. She gets top billing here. (6) BELLINI SEELSTER was close at long odds last time and she gets consideration here based on her improving form. (7) KAT should enjoy leaving OSS Gold company here and an aggressive try is likely; using. (10) BETTORTHANBOBBI motored home in 26 2/5 in her first try over this track and she is another with improving form that must be considered here.
Race 5: NW $11,000 L5 or $23,000 L10 AE: OPT CLM $30,000
(10) MISTER MAGIC has been on fire and he took a new life's mark last week. He will be hard to beat if he gets a reasonable trip. (4) SUPERLATIVE closed from an impossible spot and she should get positioned better this time starting with his nose on the gate; using. (6) U NEED STONES qualified well with Henriksen at the controls and he drives here. That makes him worth a look. (1) O NARUTAC PERFETTO is in solid form now and he should make the Super ticket at least.
Race 6: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GOLD 2YO FILLIES - Pick 5
(1) GAME OF SHADOWS cut a 58 middle 1/2 in her debut that seemed to leave her a bit flatfooted when the backfield assault came at her. She can make amends here. (6) BET ON BECKY was an impressive debut winner and she should be the main danger here. (4) SCARLETT HANOVER is a $45,000 Harrisburg Sale buy who is a 1/2-sister to the good local pacer Sweet Ana Hanover. She is worth a look for the exotics at first asking. (7) SPORTS DUCHESS finished just ahead of the choice last time and she should contend for a share here.
Race 7: NW $17,500 L5 or $28,000 L10 or NW 8LT or NW $125,000 LT AE: OPT CLM $40,000 - Pick 4
(7) EXEMPLAR has never been better, and his barn has been heating up recently. He gets top call here. (9) DANCER HALL is capable at this level and he should offer an overlaid price from post 9. I’ll use him on multi-race tickets. (5) DUNBAR HALL tried to rally from third-over, but the late pace was too strong. He should get put into action earlier here; using. (2) FREE WILLY HANOVER makes a great living by being consistently around the money and he should be in the mix here again.
Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GOLD 2YO FILLIES
(7) BEST HEAD WEST produced a good late kick in her debut after starting from the second tier. With her nose on the gate now, a Henry speed blast could be coming. I'll give her the nod over (3) POSTSCRIPT, who brings a fast qualifying win taken over a sloppy track to this debut. (5) SAULSBROOK EASY outraced her odds in her debut and she can take a share here, too. (6) HALLEYSLITTLECOMET goes for a barn that often sends out sharp young horses; consider for the exotics.
Race 9: PREFERRED HANDICAP
(8) P L JILL trotted a big mile last week only to be picked off late by the surging (6) HEY LIVVY, who has never been better. I'll give the nod to the former who is returning to a 7-day cycle here but use both in Pick 4 and Pick 5 tickets. (7) MUSICAL RHYTHM surprisingly was no match last week, but he can never be counted out and a bounce back effort is likely here. (5) MARION MARAUDER probably needed last week's race and he is another who should improve in this spot.
Race 10: NW $3,000 L5 or $7,000 L10
(3) THE REGULATOR drops off an improved effort, gets a driver switch to Hudon which indicates more aggression is likely and he has a mark of 1:49 4/5 taken here last year staring us in the face. I feel a big mile coming from this gelding tonight. (2) LYONS PEGASUS, also facing easier, should wake up in this spot; Exacta factor. (1) DRACHAN HANOVER showed big speed early last time then stopped. He can last longer here; using underneath. (10) DREAMY FELLA can pass a few of these late and take a share. (8) CINNABAR DRAGON should blast for position leaving the gate and hang around to take a share.
