Top Pick Stats: 69/211 (-$134.00) Best Bets: 7/19 (-$9.10); Spot Plays: 3/19 (-$23.80) Best Bet: ONE BELLE (Race 2) Spot Play: BET NINTEEN (Race 10) Early Pick 5: 4,5,6,10/6/4/1,5/3,7   $3.20 Late Pick 5: 1,5/2,8/4,7/2/5   $1.60 Race 1: 2 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: NW 1 RACE OR $8,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (6) HOT COUNTRY was well bet on debut but got a conservative steer and could only manage a minor share. Look for J-Mac to be a little more aggressive with the post relief and take a step forward tonight. (5) L P BAY made a strong first over bid but was ultimately turned away. He raced well to hold second and is a logical use on all tickets. (4) RAUCOUS found his best stride in the late stages and took a clear step forward. He draws well and can hit the board. (10) STONEBRIDGE MAC was fired to the front in his debut and drew away to an easy win. He may have no choice but to blast out from post ten if he wants to get in contention. He will need to find more in the late stages but will be a good price. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: PURE IVORY: 2 YEAR OLD TROTTING FILLIES. LEG 1. (6) ONE BELLE was a wrapped up winner on debut after making a move to the front in the second quarter. She makes a logical jump to a stake and should have more under the hood if necessary. (4) IN SESSION used an extended outside move to grind into the race and finish a very good second. Her trip could be similar tonight. I would expect another good effort. (3) MEME QUEEN has raced well in her two career starts but was not able to make up the necessary ground against seemingly better fillies. No relief tonight. (5) I TAKE THE CAKE makes her second start with trotting hopples and should be forwardly placed. She will be fighting for a share. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at 1/ST BET PRO!] Race 3: PREFERRED 2. (4) OSCEOLA feels like he is sitting on a win in the regular Preferred, but getting away from the likes of Logan Park and Fashion Frenzie certainly doesn’t hurt. He should be aggressively handled and make the most of the drop. (2) QUEBEC HANOVER was a solid third behind two top trotters and has been extremely sharp as of late. Leading driver James Macdonald gets the call tonight and should have him in a spot to do well again. (3) DRAWN IMPRESSION is the other main contender if you think she’s going to fire on all cylinders. I do wonder, though, what trip the connections want to get her after her parked out journey in the Hambletonian Maturity. (1) MASSTERCRAFT has versatility at these upper levels which is a bit uncommon. He won’t have to pass many horses to land on the ticket. Race 4: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER NW $15,000 (ON SIRED $18,750) LIFETIME. AE: 3 YEAR OLDS N/A $2,985 P/S IN 2024-2025. (5) DANCININTHEFIRE continued his strong form when shipping in from Pennsylvania. He followed Backup Plan the entire way around and finished a very nice second. He should be forwardly placed again and can get the job done tonight. (1) LYONS DUKEY pulled off the upset on debut when he swept past the field with a fast final half. He is the least experienced by far in this group, but an effort like that has to be respected. (2) D A SUPER GLO should get into the race no matter what trip he gets. I focus on that more than the improving times, because Mohawk is a drag strip right now. (8) SHINING MOMENT looked set to take a big step forward in his second start off the bench, but made a break. I’m not sure what trip he gets tonight. Race 5: NW $17,000 LAST 5 OR $27,250 LAST 10 STARTS.  AE: OPT. CLM. $70,000. AE: NW $170,000 LIFETIME. (3) NASEY drops back to the optional 70K claiming level where he was a winner just two starts ago. He should be right there in the late stages once again. (7) ROBERTSON DE looks like a type that might be a slight step below these, but it’s only his fifth start back since February, and he hasn’t thrown in a clunker yet. He could step forward again and offer strong value. (2) SID THE KID needs to find his form again, and could do so when dropping in class. He should be floated out for position and finish well. (8) PERFETTO gets Jody Jamieson in the bike tonight who could give him an aggressive steer. It worked extremely well back on June 9. Race 6: PURE IVORY: 2 YEAR OLD TROTTING FILLIES. LEG 1. (5) WISHUPONASTAR DEO took care of business in her latest after moving to the lead. She has solid speed on both ends of the mile, making her a filly that is hard to ignore. (1) CALYX was a strong winner in her second morning prep under no urging from McClure. She’ll need to navigate the rail where she broke from the week before. (2) PRESS ON BALLYKEEL just missed after blasting to the lead from post nine. James Macdonald picks up a live catch drive tonight on a filly that is improving. (3) FLY THRU TIME should be much closer to the leaders tonight. She can pass rivals and pick up a share. Race 7: WINNERS OF 3 BUT NOT MORE THAN 6 OR $80,000 (OS $100,000) LIFETIME. (2) FADEAWAY HANOVER held rivals off after making a brush move to the front. He trotted a very strong three quarters, but nobody was going to catch him that night. He adds Lasix and has every chance to triple up tonight. (8) MYRETIREMENTDREAM continues to battle week in and week out. He retains Jody Jamieson who should have him on the move in the early stages. (9) EMOJI HANOVER takes a drop from big time stakes company, and finds a field that isn’t the most consistent when it comes to winning. She could be the one to take advantage if she fires her best, but the wide draw makes that an even bigger question. (5) MYFRIENDJOSE broke at the start in his latest, but he had been racing well before that. Look for him to rebound and get a piece at a price. Race 8: NW $6,000 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $30,000. AE: N/A $1,875 P/S IN 2024 OR 2025. (7) SOUTHWIND DOMINO is sitting on a win with how he has performed in his last few starts at Mohawk. He just missed last week and now picks up Louis Roy, who is quietly having another excellent driving season. (4) PESO HANOVER has just one win this season but has only missed the board three times. He brings a strong effort every week and now races off the claim for the Auciello barn. I would expect an aggressive steer and strong finish. (3) P L RAINBOW DASH does her best work in the late stages, but that style is hard to turn into wins against classy trotters. She could step forward again with this drop in class. (1) EDEN ONTHEHILL is another class dropper who doesn’t win much. He has decent staying power from week to week and should be fighting for a share. Race 9: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD LEG 3: 3 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $900 CDN ($700 USD). (2) CHANTILLY is finally back after two sick scratches. Her qualifier shows that she is no worse for wear, which is trouble for the rest of this division. (5) PERFECTLY CHIC held her own from post nine against classy mares, and was a winner in the last Gold when Chantilly scratched. She could make the exacta pay $6.00 instead of $5.00. (6) WICKEDPACE was a very strong second behind Miki And Minnie in the Jerry Silverman Memorial at a huge price. It’s those two battling for the exacta spot in my opinion. (1) OUTTATHISWORLD DEO hasn’t fired her best shots in Gold races, but could pick off a couple rivals in the late stages and grab a share. She paced a wicked final three-quarters last time out. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: CLAIMING HANDICAP $8,000 TO $11,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000. (5) BET NINTEEN got the job done in his latest after many weeks of knocking on the door. He should be forwardly placed when returning to Mohawk and can repeat. (6) BEACH COWBOY was another winner in his latest who should be forwardly placed tonight. He fits much better at this level. (2) THATSWHATISAID N could capitalize if the leaders duel. He has been much better as of late. (1) FISCAL POLICY was overbet two starts ago and once again couldn’t get the job done last time out. He is an underneath use until he shows that he can win this year. Race 11: 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES: PROSPECT STARTERS. (3) NOT PASSABLE has found a spot where she can shine, and it’s the Prospect Series. She is the one to beat after two straight easy wins. (6) KAYLAS INCHARGE has one recent start in the Prospect Series, and it was a dominant score. She picks up James Macdonald tonight and leaves from a perfect post to earn a strong finish. (1) TYMAL EMERALD made a strong move in the third quarter to put herself in contention and held on for second. She can pass rivals late to hit the board. (2) ROYAL SAUCE has hit the board in two Prospect tries this season. She should be forwardly placed and grab a share. (9) VOWEL FOR VANNA could easily hit the board if she is fired off the car, but the post makes it tough. She can round out the Hi-5.
