Garnet Barnsdale|Jun 29, 2020
Mohawk Logo 1.5

Meet Stats: 53 -167 / $311.00 (- $23.00)
Best Bets: 8-16 / $30.00 (- $2.00)
Spot Plays: 6-16 / $45.10 (+ $13.10)
Best Bet:
STRAVINSKY (6TH)
Spot Play: FINAL CLAIM (9TH)
Early Pick 5: 1,5,6,7/1,3,5,8/2/1,9/3,4,9 = $19.20
Late Pick 5: 7/3,5,8/3,5,7/3,4/2,3,5,8 = $14.40
Early Pick 4: 1,9/3,4,9/7/3,5,8 = $18
Late Pick 4: 3,5,8/5/3,4/2,3,5,8 = $24

Race 1: NW $6,700 L5 or $15,000 L10 AE: OPT CLM $20K **GTD $75,000 Pick 5**

(1) HEMI SEELSTER takes a mighty class drop here and I expect Zeron to send him on a speed mission. He gets the nod over (6) MISTER MAGIC who continues to hold excellent form and is the logical alternative. (7) LAPPED BY LINDY qualified well over a track rated one second slow and if Auciello has him figured out, he could pop here. (5) WESTFIFTYSECOND's good closing kick wasn’t too effective when the leader was taking a new life’s mark and powering home in 27 3/5. He is another that's in with a shot here if the choice falters.

Race 2: Two Year Olds

(5) IMASHARPDEALER dropped substantial time in his second qualifier and he is by a young sire who has produced a few promising trotters already. I’ll land here in a race where really anything goes. (8) MUSCLE JACK, a $32,000 Lexington Sale buy, looks ready and he could offer a solid price leaving from the outside; using. (1) WALKONTHEMOON has done nothing wrong leading to his debut race here and he's another that I’ll use in this early Pick 5. (3) ARCH HALL finished well in both qualifiers and he could be sitting on a big debut effort here. It makes sense to price shop in this race.

Race 3: F&M NW $3,000 L5 or $7,000 L5

(2) GOODNIGHT IRENE's most recent race is considerably faster than any of her rivals here and she will get hammered at the windows here but she should prove tough to beat. (6) BETTIM VICKY should move up here going for Moreau but she would need to drop several seconds to take the choice down. I’ll use her underneath looking for some Exacta value. (5) BIDFORAHUG should be passing mares late again and she should be part of this Tri. (7) SPRINGBRIDGE SASSY appears to be coming into form but she frequently closes from far back; using underneath.

Race 4: 3YO Fillies NW1 or $7,000 LT Pick 4

(1) DOCS HARMONY was airborne late but shaded on the wire by a rival that simply got a better trip. She gets the nod here over (9) BIG MYRTLE who should be the main threat despite drawing widest. (6) P L NELLY should improve with her nose on the gate. Give her a price look for the exotics. (5) HAPPY LOOKER is on a roll but these are tougher and I see her finishing on the edges.

Race 5: NW $11,000 L5 or $22,000 L10 AE: OPT CLM $30,000

(4) O NARUTAC PERFETTO was all business from the 9-hole last week now he steps back up to a spot where he may revert to his typical stalking style and get a trip; slight nod. (3) HOCKEY HANOVER will likely look to control this race on the class drop and he will probably be the one to catch at the head of the lane. (9) MAJOR MUSCLE couldn't get to Bautista last week but that wasn’t a bad effort and he is worth a look for multi-race tickets despite drawing widest. (6) B YOYO will likely get bet again but I prefer to use him underneath here.

Race 6: 4YO and Younger NW2 (F&M3) or $20,000 (F&M $25,000) LT Pick 5

(7) STRAVINSKY looked fantastic in both wins since moving into what is by far the circuit's hottest barn and a three peat looms here. (4) HEAVENSDOR HANOVER gets off the 9-hole for the first time since starting back and he could provide some Exacta value here as three-year-old filly (6) SPIRIT OF DEO will take a lot of play underneath the favorite and she has much bigger fish to fry this summer I'm sure. (10) SAVINI should get a decent following trip and he can sneak into this Super.

Race 7: NW $3,200 L5 or $7,000 L10 PICK 4

(8) SAGEBRUSH SID comes into this race off two good qualifiers and it appears as though he benefitted from the break. I'll give him a slight nod in a tough race. (5) ISLANDSPECIALMAJOR got back on track at Georgian and on his best day he would be very hard to beat against these; using. (3) ROOTIN TOOTIN paced a big third 1/4 then understandably stalled. An easier trip puts him right there tonight. (7) OSBORNE SEELSTER should be good for another small share vs. these.

Race 8: Two Year Old Fillies

(5) GAME OF SHADOWS was impressive winning her June 18 qualifier and she appeared to save her best pacing for the final 1/8th of that mile. She should be tough in here at first asking. (7) SPORTS DUCHESS's 26 flat kicker catches the eye and she is on my late multi-race tickets. (3) LADY ARTHUR goes for a hot barn that excels with young stock. She isn't out of this. (2) SPORTS CHECK looks next best. I'll use her on the bottom of Tris and Supers.

Race 9: NW7 (F&M8) or $120,000 (F&M $175,000) LT

(4) FINAL CLAIM moves into the Baillargeon barn here and the horse that beat him in his June 23rd qualifier has already won in the top class at Georgian Downs on Sunday night. I'll give him the nod over (3) C T CONABRA who is improving and chased a very good sophomore trotter around this track last time. (7) H P BRUXELLES steps up in class but she is going well and she should offer a solid price here; consider for the exotics. (2) BUCKEYE STARLET couldn't advance first-over last week simply because the leader was trotting too fast. She wouldn’t be a shock in this spot.

Race 10: Starters for a Purse of $9,000 or Less in One of Last Three Starts

(2) THE REV gets post relief and McNair back and a slight nod from me in a wide-open race. (8) GENERAL JOY A will get plenty of play off his two good starts at The Meadowlands and if he can clear before the 1/4 pole, he may not be caught. (3) JOE KING's 1:54 qualifying victory was the fastest win of his career and that makes him worth a look in this spot. (5) ST LADS THRILLER seems to fit well here and he is in with an upset chance. (1) MOONWRITER can get a good following trip and take a share in this spot.
