Garnet Barnsdale|Jun 22, 2020
Mohawk Logo 1.5

Meet Stats: 37 - 115 / $232.90 (+ $2.90)
Best Bets: 6 - 11 / $19.60 (- $2,40)
Spot Plays: 4 - 11 / $25.30 (+ $3.30)
Best Bet:
BUDDHA BLUE CHIP (6TH)
Spot Play: SHEER ENERGY (7TH)
Early Pick 5: 1,3,7/6/4,6,10/5,6,7/3,5,7,9 = $21.60
Late Pick 5: 10/2,6,10/1,4,5,6,7,9/4,8/4,6,7 = $21.60
Early Pick 4: 5,6,7/3,5,7,9/10/2,6,10 = $36
Late Pick 4: 2,6,10/1,4,5,6,7,9/8/4,6,7 = $54

Race 1: F&M NW $3,000 L5 or $7,000 L10 **GTD $75,000 Pick 5**

(3) ST SOMEWHERE shows a race six starts back where she dominated at one class higher than this one. She should wake up with a much better effort here. (1) CIRCLE THE PAIGE also takes a class plunge to this bottom conditioned level and she should be heard from in this spot. (7) BURN MY VILLA was 2nd to a big chalk who was repeating as a winner last week. She figures on recent form; using. (9) SPRINGBRIDGE SASSY is one that might sneak into the Super at a price late.

Race 2: F&M 4YO and Younger NW2 or $20,000

(6) GP DREAMIN's strong late kick enabled her to get the job done in her sophomore debut and she looks good to repeat here. (5) KOMBUCHA had a rough trip in that race and she has a better chance here to upend the choice as she moves off the nine hole. (4) TH PRESENT can improve here exiting a tough race; using underneath. (2) LMC BUMBLE BEE was produced out of the pocket by at the perfect time by Roy to break her maiden. I'll use her on the bottom in this tougher spot.

Race 3: Claiming $8,000

(10) DOVUTO HANOVER faces easier here and I wouldn't be surprised if he makes a backside brush on the backstretch that he rides right to the winners circle. (4) OUTLAW GUNPOWDER is streaking for a hot barn and he is a Pick-5 must use for me. (6) ON CRUISE CONTROL took a costly shuffle last week and he is another who could take this race if he gets a better trip. (5) EMPTYTHETILL is sharp and versatile, but I prefer to use him on the bottom in this spot.

Race 4: 4YO and Younger NW1 or $7,000 LT - Pick 4

(7) D PROCRASTINATOR tried to leave from the worst post last week, was forced to tuck, took a shuffle then re-rallied. A speed approach could work better here from an improved post; slight nod. (5) LEXUS MARKUS raced evenly in a. race won by a 77 to 1 shot that trotted a 25 4/5 final 1/4. He should go forward tonight. (6) ROCKADERO is showing improvement and he is one that is likely to pop soon; using. (4) WINDSONG PATRIOT will get bet again in a race where he holds no apparent edge. I'll try to beat him out of the multis.

Race 5: F&M NW1 or $7,000 LT

(5) DOCS HARMONY is related to several that have done well in their debuts and I won't hold it against her that she was well-beaten by last year's O' Brien winner Alicorn. I'll take a swing with this Mach Three filly that goes for a hot barn. (7) SURE DO LOVE YOU, a $150,000 Lexington purchase, is a 1/2-sister to several good ones, including 1:49 pacer Miso Fast. She looks ready to roll. (3) BEACH BOUTIQUE looked good flying late on the end of her last mile and she is another who could do here with the right trip. (9) COUNT TO THREE is going to get rolled early by Henry one of these weeks and when she does, she may not be caught. Tab her as a possible price play here.

Race 6: Starters for $12,000 Claiming or Less in One of Last Three Starts - Pick 5

(10) BUDDHA BLUE CHIP is too good right now for me to try to beat, so I won't. He's my single to kick off the late Pick 5. (2) MISTER GODRO was 2nd to the choice two starts back and moving inside he has a good chance to complete this Exacta. (3) CROCADILE CANYON couldn't do much racing first up against the choice last time but he figures to hit the board here. (8) E L WILD SPIRIT will be passing horses late again. Use him in Tri and Super bets.

Race 7: 4YO and Younger NW2 (F&M3) or $20,000 (F&M $25,000 LT) - Pick 4

(2) SHEER ENERGY's seasonal bow from a second-tier post was okay and moving to a spot on the gate with that race under her belt should result in immediate improvement; top call. (10) GAMBLIN ROAD wasn't far back in a decent effort and he's the other one I'll use in Pick 4 and Pick 5 tickets. (6) SAVINI is 1 for 20 but his last two are decent and he figures here for at least a slice. (4) HP MUSCLE DANCER is worth a look for the exotics on connections alone with the barn being so hot since racing resumed.

Race 8: Starters for a Purse of $9,000 or Less in One of Last Three Starts

(5) ALWAYS N THE MONEY gets Cullen back and a probable favourable pace setup here; price play. (6) CASIMIR RUMRUNNER was a clear second to a strong winner last week and he should be prominent throughout here. (7) AMERICAN WIGGLE couldn't seal the deal at 1 to 9 in Ottawa but that was a fast race and getting Filion here won't hurt; using. (9) RACEMUP could blast right to the front here with Henry at the controls and he is another possibility in this contentious dash.

Race 9: Claiming $15,000

(8) SOMBRE was a strong winner vs. similar last week and he gets the call to repeat although he may be odds-on in this spot. (4) SEVERUS HANOVER has a much better chance with his nose on the gate and he is the most logical upsetter. I'll use him in the late multis. (7) SPARE SEED - a distant 2nd to the choice last time - figures to get another piece of this. (2) JOHNNYS REVENGE should sit a good following trip here and come on late for a share.

Race 10: NW $3,000 L5 or $7,000 L10

I'm going to try (4) BLACK SMILE here on the Budd/Henry connection alone in a race that is a complete head scratcher to me. (6) SILVERHILL BLAZE takes the biggest class drop so I guess you have to use him. (7) DREAMY FELLA rolls by them all late a couple of times/year. This might be one of those times. (10) OSBORNE SEELSTER would be rated higher if he had his nose on the gate. Consider for Tri and Super bets. (5) ALI raced okay from the 10-hole last week and he should get a piece of this.
