(7) SWEET DEISEL exits a tougher class where the leader dominated from the outset and the rest could do nothing but follow along. He was visibly accelerating at the wire, and he gets Macdonald here. An aggressive try is likely this time; top call. (6) INSTANTANEOUS paced a first-over 26 4/5 third 1/4 when claimed last week and he still held for a share. He draws best now, and he could do here if he can find some cover; using. (8) HES SWIFT never gets bet, but he is clearly improved since being claimed by Polifroni on 4/22; price look for the exotics. (4) HEAD HONCHO figures to get a solid pace to chase and he should be closing to land in the bottom of the Tri or Super.

Race 2: 5YO and younger NW2 (F&M3) or $20,000 LT

(4) ARMORED DOVE flew late to win at a big price with the trainer driving now she gets a catch driver. I’ll give her the call to repeat here. (5) STONY BURKE won as expected at 1 to 9 when he dropped out of Golds last week and he is the one to beat here, but this is a tougher field. (3) SWEET VALLEY is the third one in here that comes off a win and she has done nothing wrong so far in her short career. She is another one in with a shot that merits a look for the early Pick 5. (1) WEST RIVER IVORY drops out of the Grassroots, but I don’t love the rail post for her. She likely closes late again for a small share.

Race 3: Pop-Up series F&M CLM $8,000

(7) DEL DIGGITY is sure to have several claims in on her again as she excels in these series. Beat her to greet the cashier. (6) TIMEWAITSONNOONE got beat at 1 to 5 last week, but that was a fast race, and she looks like the main threat here racing off the Moreau claim. (1) ACEFORTYFOUR DAISY will likely sit another good following trip here and stick around for a slice; using underneath. (5) ITALIA SEELSTER rarely misses the top four. She should be part of the Super.

Race 4: 4YO and younger NW1 or $7,500 LT - Pick 4

(2) LOTTO MAX took a lot of action on debut, and he closed furiously up the pylons late to get the job done. Off that impressive first effort he gets the call to repeat. (7) BETTORSTOPMENOW raced okay when beaten 2 1/2 lengths by the choice in that race. He could add some value to the Exacta here. (1) DAB OCOLOR was 2nd in a fast Grassroots race in London, and he has hit the board in five straight. He is hard to leave off Triactor tickets. (3) DEUCE HANOVER can improve here after getting a clean line down last week; price look for the exotics.

Race 5: 5YO and younger NW1 or $7,000 LT

(3) MISTER BANJO is by a nondescript Ontario sire that has only one foal that has won in three small crops, but this colt qualified well for veteran trainer Budd, and he interestingly attracts Macdonald who also drove him in that qualifier. There are no killers in here and I’ll land here. (4) HEAVENS COUNT comes off a strong effort where he was 2nd to a 1 to 9 shot. He is the obvious one to fear here. (9) ARCADIA SEELSTER is racing well for Team McNair who have been heating up recently. He can land in the Tri here. (5) GEORGEOFTHEJUNGLE likely sits in mid pack and stays for a small share.

Race 6: Pop-Up series F&M CLM $8,000 - Pick 5

(5) KINKAID SELESTER raced tough on the engine to win in the opening leg, and he races for Waxman off the claim now and keeps Roy in the bike; call to repeat. (1) BROOKDALE SEB was airborne late to get up at a big price and equal his lifetime mark. He could repeat if there is any front end battling here. (3) STATE OF PLAY had little to offer last week racing off the Smith claim but he drops now, and this race isn’t going to go in 1:50 3/5. He should improve sharply here but I’m not inclined to take a short price. (4) JOURNALISTIC was battled into defeat last week but I don’t see him getting an easy trip here; using on the bottom.

Race 7: 4YO and younger NW1 or $7,500 LT - Pick 4

(7) SPINDOCTOR HANOVER paced an incredible winning mile at Truro on 6/2, parking most of the way pressing the leader first up and putting away the leader in the lane. He is a big gelding that should benefit racing over the larger Mohawk surface, and he moves into the leading trainer’s barn here; top call. (3) STAY COOL HANOVER raced well in defeat to the colt who is picked to win race 4 tonight and he is the obvious one to fear. Macdonald chose him over the choice and one other in here. (10) B SONNY paced a big kicker to get up for a share last time and he would be rated higher here if he didn’t draw the 10-hole; using underneath. (1) MONTREGO is worth a look for the exotics going for Team Cullen in this spot.

Race 8: CLM HDCP $14,000 to $20,000

(2) HIGHLAND BEACH BOY paced a 53 3/5 back 1/2 in defeat racing off the Lester claim now he doesn’t have to face J J Tommy who beat him in his last three starts. He stands out here and he will be a single for me. (1) BRING YOUR FIRE is another that raced well off the claim, and he can be an Exacta factor here in this short field. (6) MACH IMPACT is in easier here and he should improve enough to land in the Tri this time. (4) BETTORHOLDONTIGHT requalified okay for this, and he can close for a share if he stays pacing this time.

Race 9: Pop-Up series F&M CLM $8,000

(3) ROYAL REGATTA isn’t as sharp as he was when he ripped off a long winning streak in the spring, but he was okay last week, and he can improve in this second start for Moreau; slight nod. (4) MALVOLIO is another that can be better here racing off the Lester claim tonight. He is the other one that I’ll use on late multi-race tickets. (1) PAPIAMENTO frequently takes smaller shares. He is a good one to use on the bottom. (6) THE DEVIL YOU KNOW will likely leave for position and hold onto a smaller share again.

Race 10: NW $2,000 L3 AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. AE: N/A $1,520 P/S IN 2023-24

(1) STORM TROTTER was locked up tight in the pocket for the entire stretch drive last week because (7) MISTER MAGIC kept coming first-over and the leader never left the pylons. I’ll give the former the call to turn the tables tonight respecting that the latter comes off one of the more impressive winning miles of the year. (10) BRACE FOR LANDING takes a big drop here and he should wake up with a better performance; using. (5) ANGEL OF MY DREAMS closed well to take a small share last week and I expect more of the same for her tonight. (3) ARCHIMEDES is a good closer that can be part of the exotics if he stays flat this time.
