Garnet Barnsdale|Sep 05, 2023
Mohawk Logo 1.5

Top Pick Stats: 408 - 1197 / $2,122.40 (-$271.60)

Best Bets: 65 - 115 / $227.30 (-$2.70)

Spot Plays: 21 - 115 / $134.10 (-$95.90)

Best Bet: T H MCMURRY (7TH)

Spot Play: FRENCHY HANOVER (2ND)

Early Pick 5: 2,5,6,8/1,8/6,7,8/5/4,6 = $9.60

Late Pick 5: 2,4,5/8/4,5,8/1,5/1,4,5,6 = $14.40

Early Pick 4: 5/4,6/2,4,5/8 = $1.20

Late Pick 4: 8/4,5,8/1,5/1,4,5,6 = $4.80

Race 1: 2YO Colts and Geldings NW1 or $5,000 LT **Gtd. $100,000 Pick 5

(8) E L TITANIC took a ton of action last week, but he never really got going until it was too late. Getting off the rail and facing a suspect field could be just what he needs to turn it around here; top call. (6) BEAR NECESSITIES got a needed clean line, and he produced a sub-28 kicker. He is another that figures to be closer here; using. (2) PERFECT LANDING fits well vs. these and he could be a speed threat. He is another in with a shot. (5) MYFRIENDJOSE is yet another that got a needed clean line and closed some ground. This will be a spread race for me.

Race 2: 5YO and younger NW1 or $7,000 LT

(1) FRENCHY HANOVER had trot in the lane last start, but he never got clearance to use it. McNair will likely look to control this race; top call. (8) GLENFIDICH got a good trip and closed some ground to shade the choice and he looks like the main threat here. (7) HP JONI MONI stayed flat and kicked well and he can get a good trip here too if he stays trotting; using underneath. (5) CONNOR can close for a share if he stays flat this time.

Race 3: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 5: 2YO PACING COLTS and GELDINGS

(7) UNRIVALED HANOVER was no match for Gold-dropping TH McMurry last time, but he looks best vs. these; top call. (8) SINATRA HANOVER is razor sharp and he shoots for a threepeat here. He can take air and keep coming and he is the main threat. (3) CENTURY KOMODO has a big late kick, and he could do here if he is a bit closer at the 3/4 pole; price look. (6) LIKE A GLOVE has done nothing wrong so far but he may find the top choices too tough tonight; using underneath.

Race 4: 2YO fillies NW1 or $5,000 Pick 4

(5) DRAW THE LINE led to the 3/4 pole in a Grand Circuit final and she should handle this field of maidens without much trouble. Debutante (9) MASS MONEY showed enough in her qualifiers to suggest she can contend at first asking; Exacta factor. (1) MUSCONE was flying late last week but she draws poorly again. Another late charge for a slice is likely. (2) DONNA HANOVER can improve drawing better for this second start. Consider for the bottom of the exotics.

Race 5: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 5: 2YO PACING COLTS and GELDINGS

(4) D A MCDREAMY shoots for his fourth straight Grassroots win, and he was the easiest winner in leg 4. This looks like a race that will come down to him and (6) MCWICKED TIME. The latter impressed pacing a sub-28 third 1/4 on route to an easy win last time and he is improved and dangerous. (7) SOUTHWIND CIRCUIT has been in the mix in every start, and he should be part of the exotics tonight racing from close range. (8) PIRATES SHADOW is another that should be in the mix for a small share.

Race 6: 5YO and younger NW1 or $7,000 LT Pick 5

(2) CACTUSTOTHECLOUDS gets a barn and driver change here in a spot where he has a chance to be the boss; top call. (5) MONI ALL DAY comes off a strong qualifier and if she repeats that mile, she can be an Exacta factor here. (4) QUEEN INDEED shows some good miles in the New York Sires Stakes, and she looks fast enough to contend against these. (10) JAYPORT ANNA MAY gets Roy but draws worst. A smaller share is likely her ceiling here.

Race 7: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 5: 2YO PACING COLTS and GELDINGS Pick 4

(8) T H MCMURRY never looked a loser last start when he dropped from Gold to Grassroots, and he should win again here at a very short price. (7) STONEBRIDGE THRILL flew late last time, and he is improving, but he will likely find the choice too tough; using underneath. (4) SPORTS ACTIVATOR has finished 3rd in the last three Grassroots, and he should close for another good share tonight. (1) GREAT BET will probably sit a trip racing close to the front and land in the Super.

Race 8: F&M Claiming $15,000 for NW $25,250 LT

(8) DOLLYDAYDREAM faces easier here and her strong late kick should play well; top call. (5) SUNSET SOPH figures to make front early and take these a long way on the lead. She should be the one to catch. (4) BADDITUDE will probably race close to the front most of the way and stick around for a share. (6) RED SKY TONIGHT raced decently in the Pop Up series and she should be good for a share vs. these.

Race 9: Claiming $15,000 for NW $25,250 LT

(5) HASHTAG WATCH ME shattered her previous lifetime best mark in the first start for Waxman and if he replicates that mile, his rivals will be racing for 2nd here. (1) SHARKY was better in his second start for Barrington, but he draws the rail again which likely means he will be under the gun early again. He is in with a shot, but I'd demand a price. (3) SUNSHINE LOVE, a distant 2nd to the choice last time, can be in the Tri again. (4) HUGH HEFF made a decent late charge to get 3rd last week. He's worth a look for the exotics.

Race 10: 2YO colts and geldings NW1 or $5,000 LT

(1) ICACO HANOVER was a good 2nd on debut, and he has a good chance to convert here. $47K Lexington buy (6) LOU GRANT looks ready for a good debut for Waxman, who has been running hot; using. (5) AT EASE HANOVER was first up in that same race now he draws better. The blazing hot Doc Moore barn has him and (4) ROB in here and both are useable in the late multis. (3) GERONIMO CREEK closed from far back in that race now he draws much better. He should be part of the exotics.
