Race 1: 2YO Fillies NW1 or $7,000 LT **GTD $100,000 Pick 5**
(8) ALWAYS WATCHING was solid last week and probably a bit unlucky to get picked off by a horse that stayed buried and found room in time down the lane to get past her. She has a good shot here as the likely chalk. (1) WILDCAT VICTORIA is showing improvement and she could give the choice a race if she is in striking range at the head of the lane. (5) AILEY HANOVER wasn't disgraced in Grand Circuit competition last week and she finished 3rd in a similar class here in late July. She should get a good piece of this. (6) PREMIER BETTINA could leave quicker this time from the track's best post and she is worth including in Tris and Supers.
Race 2: 2YO NW $15,000 LT
(2) EIGHTEEN WHEELIN was in an impossible spot at the 3/4 last week after encountering road trouble and he rallied well in the stretch. He gets his nose back on the gate here and I expect a much more aggressive steer. (6) PUBLICITY SEEKER already has a maiden win and he should contend getting class relief here providing he trots the whole mile. (7) HESOHOT HANOVER has developed a nice closing kick and he is hard to leave off Tri and Super bets. (10) ROSIES WAR BONDS is in solid form but I don't love the second-tier post for him; using on the bottom only.
Race 3: 2YO NW2 or $35,000 LT
(2) MR CHARISMA has done well to take a couple of checks racing against much tougher. He should beat this group. (7) FLASH CUBE also raced well against better company recently and I imagine he will get an aggressive drive this week; using. (5) KOMODO BEACH parlayed an aggressive Harris steer into a win last week but this is tougher, and I'll use him underneath. (4) BIG BANG BANG’s Grassroots efforts were good, and he is another one that is in the exotics mix here.
Race 4: NW $3,000 L5 or $7,000 L10 - Pick 4
(4) WORTHYOURATTENTION’s late kick should play better in this field where the closing 1/4 isn’t likely going to set any records. I'll call her to roll past them all late. (1) ALEXUS EH is worth a look on the barn change to Auciello alone. (3) MAJOR MUSCLE improved when dropped to this level and a first win of 2020 may be coming in this spot. (2) GREAT MAGIC is another who races better at this level who is seeking his initial win of the season still. I prefer to use him underneath, however.
Race 5: NW $3,300 L5 or $8,400 L10
(5) BIG BANG BOOM double drops and likely pops in this spot. (3) DOWN ON MY LUCK gets McNair back for this and he could trip out racing in the choice's pocket; using. (10) LEGAL BETTOR should find this company more to his liking but from post 10 I can only use him underneath. (2) JKNR LIKETELL is sharp and worth a look for the exotics.
Race 6: 2YO NW1 or $8,500 LT - Pick 5
(5) RAU RU has been competitive in Grassroots events and I would think that veteran teamster Macdonell will get aggressive in this spot; top call. (2) P L OLIVER shows flashes of improvement and moving inside gives him a chance here; using. (4) BEEF N CHEDDAR should be closer here, but I think he's best used underneath. (6) DOWNERS DELIGHT is another that has been hinting at improvement who can add some value to the exotics.
Race 7: 4YO and Younger NW1 or $7,000 LT
(2) MEADOWBRANCH NOBLE will likely get bet heavily here moving inside seven post positions following a good effort and he should be tough to beat. (8) REGAL SEVEN is likely to set sail for the front again but I don't imagine the choice will allow him to have control for very long; Exacta factor. (1) HONE THE TONE moves inside following a decent opener and he is worth a look for the Tri. (6) TITANIC KATE should be passing a few of these late in the mile; consider for the Super.
Race 8: F&M 4YO and Younger NW1 or $11,000 LT - Pick 4
Tough race here; I'll give (2) J M BETTING HEARTS a slight nod based on recent form. (7) DOUBLE PLAY raced well until mid stretch when he got funky-gaited when the backfield arrived to challenge then broke stride. He should be a player here, but I wouldn't take a short price. (6) ADMITYOUREWRONG was decent last week and she's another in with a chance in a race that will likely be decided by trip. (3) RECKLESS FOOL gets Roy here and her win at Kawartha puts her in the picture. She's another to consider in a wide-open race.
Race 9: NW $5,000 L5 or $10,000 L10
(6) GRACEFUL gets a barn change to Moreau and she picks up Filion to drive in a spot where she looks like a decent fit and she gets my nod. (5) DREAM NATION should get a better trip here after being overland a long way last time. Getting his nose back on the gate is a plus; using. (9) PINK PISTOL got a clean line following a break now she gets to drop in class; Henry speed blast coming? (7) MARQUIS VOLO looked like he had a nice wide rally going when he broke last time. He has had gait issues in the past, so I'd demand a price.
Race 10: 2YO Fillies NW2 or $36,000 LT
(4) COME ON SUN is in excellent form and she has a good chance here if she gets put into this race early. (3) JOLIETTE HANOVER was freshened after breaking stride long before the start at Grand River. She is clearly the fastest filly in here when she is 100%, but I'd take a close look at her in the post parade before plunging. (6) RENDEZVOUS stayed in and it worked because she was loaded late and rolled by for the win. She is worth a look here. (8) CHIEFS DREAM GIRL is in great form, but she could be dropping back and looking for cover here with the Grassroots semi-finals coming up; using underneath.
Race 11: F&M 4YO and Younger NW2 or $15,500 LT
(5) RUBY ON RAILS was as good as advertised in her Mohawk park debut and she looked good circling the field with ease; call to repeat. (3) DOCS HARMONY fits this class like a glove, and she should be the one to catch and beat. (2) ROSE RUN VICTORY was hammered at the windows when dropped to this class last week, but she spent too much time waiting for cover to follow. She is in the exotics mix here. (7) PATRICIA MAE has been producing good speed both early and late and she should be in this High-5. (8) MS MACHINGBIRD can pass some of these late and she may sneak into the High-5 at a big price.
