(1) P L RACHEL tried Golds after two improved starts and it didn’t go well, but she is one of the best ones on paper in this Grassroots race and I’ll give her a slight nod. (2) SUE ANNE broke at the start last week after leading Gold fillies to the stretch call. She is the likely chalk here and she should be right there if she stays flat. (9) HER CURRENCY is the third filly with a recent Gold line that figures in here and her most recent start was good where she finished 2nd from the worst post in a Grassroots event at Grand River. (5) EXCITING MIA is a good one to use in the bottom of the Tri and Super.

Race 2: CLM HDCP $15,000 to $18,000 for NW $44,000 LT

(6) SAULSBROOK BOOMER raced okay off the claim despite missing a week, flashing speed from post 10 and hanging around for a check. He moves to the best post now and he gets top billing. (7) SUNSHINE LOVE comes off the best race of her life, but she is 1 for her last 37. What price would you take? (1) HUGH HEFF is getting closer and Bossence had a good week last week; price look. (9) TRIDENT SEELSTER takes frequent shares, and he can sneak into the Super here.

Race 3: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS SEMI-FINAL: 2YO FILLIES

(8) WEST RIVER IVORY is getting hot at the right time, coming into this semi-final off a sharp maiden-breaking score; call to repeat. (4) FLIRTY DANCER is 3-for-4 in Grassroots races and she is the obvious one to fear here. (3) BIRTHDAY MONEY is another who has a good record in these races this year, but I prefer to use her underneath in this spot. (5) ABIKADABRA was good in her last start but also easily handled by the choice; small share predicted tonight.

Race 4: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS SEMI-FINAL: 2YO FILLIES Pick 4

(6) MAKE OUT WITH ME finished 2nd to a filly that fired a 25 4/5 kicker to pass them all and previously won a Gold race in the summer. She should be tough in here. (7) WICKEDWOMAN DE VIE was 3rd in the same race and it’s hard to leave out a sharp Gallucci filly in races like this. (8) HOW MUCH comes off a solid effort and she is another that could do here with the right trip. She might be able to find some good cover this time starting from an outside post; using. (1) PASTA DELIGHT is around the money every week and she should be part of the Tri or Super.

Race 5: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS SEMI-FINAL: 2YO COLTS & GELDINGS

(4) WAYS AND MEANS doesn’t lose in Grassroots races it seems and he gets top billing in this semi-final. (3) SALEM SEELSTER put the trotting hopples back on and qualified swiftly for this race. He should be the main threat if he stays flat. (6) ALEXANDER just broke his maiden in a Grassroots race, and he has only missed the board once this year. He figures to be in the exotics mix. (1) R NO MERCY is another with only one win that has been consistent all year and he should get a good piece of this.

Race 6: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS SEMI-FINAL: 2YO FILLIES Pick 5

(8) BONITAS BEST BET is strong racing on the lead and Roy should be a good fit for her here; top call. (5) GRANNYS WATCHING fired two fast kickers in a row and her good late speed could lead to an upset here; using. (4) TRIBAL DANCER comes off a two-move win where she took a fast mark, and she could be raging in the pocket when they turn for home. She is another in with a chance. (7) IDYLLIC DELIGHT can close for a small slice in this spot.

Race 7: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS SEMI-FINAL: 2YO & GELDINGS

(8) STORMONT CHEERIO trotted a big back 1/2 in an improved performance last week and I’ll take a shot with him here at what should be a good price. (1) NZURI gamely broke his maiden, and he should be right there again tonight in this semi-final. (6) NORTHERNCHANCELLOR gets major post relief here which should lead to a better result. He’s not out of this. (3) BRUTALIZER can sit a trip and land in the bottom of the exotics.

Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS SEMI-FINAL: 2YO COLTS & GELDINGS Pick 4

(7) MCWICKED TIME is getting hot at the right time, and he should be the one to fend off tonight. (8) D A MCDREAMY was picked off right on the money by the choice and he will likely be the one to catch again here. (5) CENTURY KOMODO has a big late kick on his best day. Keep an eye on him with another eye to next week’s final where there will likely be lots of action and plenty of pace to chase. (3) VIS A VIS BLUECHIP tripped-out to win last time. I prefer to use him underneath in this spot.

Race 9: 5YO and younger NW1 or $7,000 LT

(6) TYRONE BOW TIE should have a big shot vs. this suspect group if he stays flat this time. (10) GLENFIDICH is 1-for-23 but he rates highly in here, even from post 10. (2) HP JONI MONI will likely get an aggressive steer from Roy, and he is another in with a shot here. (4) QUEEN INDEED floated for position, sat, then closed for 2nd in a decent effort. She may not offer much value, but she certainly is possible here.

Race 10: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS SEMI-FINAL: 2YO COLTS & GELDINGS

(2) T H MCMURRY is very hard to beat at this level and he should convert here at a miniscule price. (8) UNRIVALED HANOVER finished closest to the choice two starts back and he looks next best tonight. (5) STONEBRIDGE THRILL’s good late kick should get him a share in this spot; using underneath. (10) ENFORCER was second to the choice last time, but he draws worst here; small share predicted.

Race 11: F&M CLM HDCP $15,000 to $18,000 for NW $20,000 LT

(4) MISS MAYCEE and (3) BARSTOW BELLE both raced decently vs. similar here last week and they will likely fight it out for the win. Slight nod to the former who raced better that night. (2) SNAKE EYES HANOVER faces much easier here but comes off a scratch due to injury. I wouldn’t take a short price. (1) J M OUTSPOKEN will likely flash speed from the inside and stick around for a small slice. (5) PROUD OF MY ROOTS can close for another small slice in this spot.
