(8) SEVEN SUMMERS has won two of three with 28 3/5 kicks home in both wins. I’m expecting aggression from this wide draw again. (1) TWIST OF TABBY is another that is sharp right now but ships in from Georgian to the big track. She needs to be faster to beat this group. (6) BRONZER is lightly raced, coming off a distanced line on 9/5. Prior line on 8/29 plays much better here. (2) VANJIE BLUE CHIP is grabbing checks at this level with solid position early for top connections.

Race 2: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 5. 3YO TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS

(1) GRAMBLING HALL got a late start to grassroots action but has a win and needs points here to secure a spot in the semifinals. He broke stride in latest and now draws inside. (4) SATURDAY has four overnight wins in five starts. Last was swift and he’s the one to beat. (2) WHEELZABLAZIN is another that has been sharp with three straight wins at three different tracks. This is a class test. (7) THE CANAM BANKER has been competitive vs Grassroots types but is off form currently.

Race 3: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $8,500 LIFETIME

(4) MELS LEGACY was bet in latest but tired off a quick pace. This race should be more reasonable early. (7) STAY COOL HANOVER has seven shares in 15 races. He is speedy early but soft late. (2) MINOTAUR ships in off a win at Grand River and picks up JMac to drive. (1) BETTOR BE EARLY has shown a good late kick in his past races but usually only for shares.

Race 4: CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $41,750 LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. AE: NW $15,850 IN 2024

(3) KEYSTONE DORAL showed up here 9/5 off two straight wins and crushed at 4/5. Short odds are looming again on this one. (1) DAY TRADER won $66,000 last year and took money vs these on return 9/5. He could be more fit now. (4) SOLID NINE HANOVER chased choice in latest but couldn’t catch late. He needs more to challenge that one. (10) BERENS WEAPON has eight wins this year, but will likely be far back from this post.

Race 5: 2 YEAR OLDS, NW 1 RACE OR $8,000 LIFETIME

(2) GETTHEGREEN has tried Stakes so far and has two seconds in four starts; lacks early speed but can out-finish this group. (3) TACTICALLYSPEAKING shipped out from NJ in latest and kicked home in 28 1/5. He should improve after that start and needs to be used in multis. (1) THAT DUDE gets a positive driver switch here to JMac after three wide trips in a row. (7) P L SAPPHIRE has shown speed from wide draws; needs more late.

Race 6: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 5. 3YO TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS

(2) HUNGRY HILL was racing well at The Red Mile vs Stakes types. He acclimated well here 9/5 and will should improve. (6) SID THE KID is right there vs these every week. He was too far back on 9/2. (7) ROYAL DUHARAS has won two straight at the level and was not favored in either start. He must overcome post. (3) ELEGANT RESOLVE has made a lot of money for a horse with one win. Should be moving forward late.

Race 7: POP UP: CLAIMING $8,000. ALLOWANCE FOR AGE. LEG 1

(1) CHOREOGRAPHER returns to a track where he’s won many races. He has three wins and a second in his last four and the speed to control this race. (2) FEISTY LIKE FIRE chased that one 9/7 from a tough spot. Big track should help his kick, and Roy drives. (7) DAPPER FELLA is having a nice year out of town and beat the choice on 8/27 at Georgian. (9) MACH SILVER is a speed type that has won six of eight starts this year. This race and post are tougher for the 11-year-old.

Race 8: POP UP SERIES CONSOLATION: FILLIES & MARES: NW $18,000 IN 2024 (MIN 10 STARTS). AE: NOT AVERAGING $1,400 PER START IN 2024 (MIN 10 STARTS

(1) STONEBRIDGE DRAMA has been ok in this Pop Up series grabbing checks with early position. I think she trips-out here from the rail. (2) DUCHENNE won $95,400 last year but 2024 hasn’t been quite the same. This could be a wake-up spot. (6) PAM was wide and too far back in latest. If she uses the speed she did two back that would serve her well here. (3) SHES LAWLESS adds Lasix after a line that looks like she would benefit from it on 8/29.

Race 9: POP UP: CLAIMING $8,000. ALLOWANCE FOR AGE. LEG 1

(2) FERN HILL BREEZE comes out of faster races than most of these and gets the top driver here. (9) BRIGGS has won three of four, and seven total races this season. He needs to use that speed from this draw. (5) MACHO POLO showed speed in latest and just missed. A similar trip in this race makes him dangerous. (3) DREAMY FELLA is getting checks out of town at this level.

Race 10: POP UP SERIES FINAL: FILLIES & MARES: NW $18,000 IN 2024 (MIN 10 STARTS

(7) SILENT CROSSING was sharp two back when able to use her speed. Rail was no good for that style on 9/5 but she should be out early here. (9) BETTER BE DONNA N showed her class in that race and was able to win up front. Choice has post edge here but she’s capable vs these. (10) CHELSIS CHOICE woke up at 41/1 on 9/5 with a big kick. Her style makes it tough from this draw but she will be coming late. (4) GETTING EUCHRED was a horse I liked in latest but she tired from the quick pace. McNair could look for a trip now. (3) JIMBELINA won leg one of this series and draws well here. Another that could be involved in early proceedings.
