Top Pick Stats: 136/405 (-$134.40) Best Bets: 16/36 (-$15.20) Spot Plays: 9/37 (-$28.50) Best Bet: MEADOWVIEW ROTHY (Race 10) Spot Play: BEACH CRUISER (Race 5) Early Pick 5: 8,10/3,5/2,9/6/3,4,5 $4.80 Late Pick 5: 1,7,9/1,7,8/4,7/1,5/5 $7.20 Race 1: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $8,500 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. AE: 3 YR OLD FILLIES N/A $640 P/S IN 2025. (10) DRIVERLESS produced a strong effort when shipping in from RIdeau, and that was from a wide post. He draws widest tonight but should be able to be forwardly-placed again. (8) TRUDYBIRD has been sitting on her first career win and is rounding into winning form since the qualifier. She is another early pace presence. (1) HOBNOB HANOVER can usually sustain her outside move to get a piece of the board. She is one who I think could get another win in the near future despite the one-for-45 record. (5) SHESAMANALISHI raced just okay last week but was still able to hit the board. She is a logical underneath type. Race 2: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $60,000 (OS $75,000) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (5) ARDYNE GRAYSEE has ripped off two straight wins at the level since being claimed. She draws perfectly tonight and is likely to be first to the lead. (3) KIERA SEELSTER could have every chance to strike if handled aggressively. Her best recently has come when sitting up close. (4) STAY PUMPED likes to grind into races and could take advantage if the top two duel. Her move tends to work better on the smaller tracks, though. (6) P L RINCHENIA got the job done despite a second tier starting spot last week. She is the wild card in here on her return to the Mohawk oval. Race 3: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES: GRASSROOTS STARTERS (MAY BE DIVIDED BY EARNINGS). AE: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES NW 2 RACES LIFETIME. (2) PATS QUEEN was a fast-closing third after sitting well back at the start. The post relief should help her be closer to the leaders. (9) ELBOWS UP was a winner on debut when racing at Mohawk and comes off a decent effort at Grand River. If forwardly-placed, she should be a main factor. (4) BLUE JEAN GAL pulled off the upset after a sustained outside move. She is logical to come right back if she minds her manners. (5) MAKINA RUN FOR IT hasn't done much wrong in three career starts. She draws a better post tonight and should be a main factor. Race 4: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES: NW 1 RACE OR $8,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (6) BARBARA MAY takes a significant drop from Ontario Sires Stakes Gold Series company. This is likely her race to lose. (3) LILY REIN was a strong second from post ten in her latest. The post relief should allow her to get into the race easier. (2) SEVEN RULES was a winner in her morning prep when returning to Mohawk. She could be a factor if she minds her manners. (8) M E LAUREL qualified decently and is another dropping from Gold company, but a more conservative steer could come to ensure a flat mile. Race 5: CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $68,500 (OS $75,250) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (4) BEACH CRUISER tried to catch the top two in the sprint home, but nobody in the field was making up any ground. This could be the week he gets the perfect trip. (5) ABOVEMYPAYGRADE just got up in the final strides after a pocket trip. He continues to be sharp and deserves respect on most weeks. (3) SPORTY BEE is usually passing horses late when racing from off-the-pace, but a style like that makes it difficult when the track continues to play so front-end favoring. You could say the same for (6) EASILY THE BEST, who can work off a helmet and pick up a piece tonight. ► Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter Race 6: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $8,500 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. AE: 3 YR OLD FILLIES N/A $640 P/S IN 2025. (7) VALIDUS was a strong second behind a pumped-up winner who was making her first start on Lasix. She held off Shesamanalishi for second and sprinted home decently. She can continue to improve. (1) GOAL DIGGER put forth his best race in a while when racing from mid-pack. He should be tighter coming into tonight and can step forward. (9) FATEFUL has shown ability, but the miscues loom large. She stayed flat when qualifying on the big track; She can hit the board if she stays flat. (2) SWEET EMILY T has shown that she can take plenty of air on the outside. If she finds a live helmet, she could close in for a piece. Race 7: 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES: GRASSROOTS OR PROSPECT STARTERS. (7) SUPERGIRL MOLLY was a pumped-up winner when adding Lasix and was wrapped-up in the late stages after sprinting away from rivals. I'll look for her to repeat. (8) P L STEVIE has three wins in her last five starts and now adds Lasix herself. She could easily get another win tonight. (1) TELLERS CHOICE is right back in the box after a decent third in the Grassroots. She has raced well at Mohawk in the past but could be out-sprinted early and left with a less than ideal trip. (9) TH MONICA is another potential early speed horse who got a great drive from Jamieson two starts ago. I can see her hanging on for at least a piece if handled aggressively. Race 8: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $8,500 LIFE. NO ALLOWANCES. AE: NW $2,975 LAST 3 STARTS. (4) KOBRA KATE had to race from well off-the-pace in her latest and closed very well after tipping off cover. Last week's beaten favorite makes a lot of sense tonight. (7) ASHLEES SWEETIE continues to take steps forward and is a horse I won't give up on just yet. She will add value to exotics and the multis if she gets the job done. (1) WHO ARE YOU is the most consistent horse in this field but continues to come up short no matter what trip she gets. (2) MCJAZZ has some decent closing speed but needs to be close enough to the action. She shouldn't be sitting last given this draw. Race 9: POP UP SERIES FINAL: F&M CLAIMING $8,000 FOR NW $5,000 L5 STARTS. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. MUST START IN 2 LEGS TO BE ELIGIBLE TO FINAL. (5) PRETTY MISSY MAY got no respect after her upset win on August 7, so she decided to pull off another one last week. She did much more work last week, leaving out to sit in third and then pulled first-over. She will get some respect this time. (1) FIRST CAST tried to close in on the winner, but she had already gotten the jump. She was better last week and could sit another good trip. (3) LISAS ALL IN rode the rail to a sharp second-place finish last time. She knows how to hit the board. (7) SOLIDAZABRICKHOUSE came up empty after a front-end try. She could bounce back off the claim, but I'll use underneath. Race 10: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $27,000 LIFETIME. AE: N/A $910 P/S IN 2025. (5) MEADOWVIEW ROTHY sustained a first-over move despite not being able to clear the leader and was still battling at the wire. I thought it was a big effort that merits respect tonight. (7) CRYPTO HANOVER had a perfect trip behind my top pick but was unable to get by the leader, who took the group the whole way around. She is likely to be forwardly-placed tonight. (8) FRENCHMONI HANOVER pops up every now and then with a much-improved effort, and you saw it last week. She will need to leave out if she wants a chance to hit the board. (2) ROYAL MOON has closed decently in her last two efforts. She could find a live helmet and get a piece. (9) INTERNATIONAL LOVE was just even last week when shipping in and now draws wide. She can pass a few rivals and round out the Hi-5.
