Looks better than many here. (8) TYMAL LOVERBOY has three checks in three starts. Moves outside but has the ability to get away from the gate. (7) LOCKDOWN ROMEO is another that’s raced even so far. Barn produces improvement.

(3) BADDITUDE has four straight wins at Grand River at the 15K claiming level. Big track now could derail streak, but is in by far the best form of these. (1) HURRIKANE MSRODINE made a move here 7/28 at big odds but faltered. This is a better spot. (6) SPORTY LIL VIXEN is having a nice year and now tries the big track. Her style is to sit from off the pace and make one move. (2) BROOKDALE GRACE has been racing against the choice from tough posts. 7/12 line plays well if she gets away in a forward spot.

Race 3: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 3. 2 YEAR OLDS

(2) NORTHERNCHANCELLOR was a sharp winner at big odds 7/30. 7/15 line here wasn’t bad from wide draw. (4) GRIFF improved in second qualifier for sharp barn. Tried the front in slow pace and held on to be second. Speed could come again. (5) ALEXANDER was supposed to win last two but didn’t. He’s involved early but can’t seem to pass the last horse. Can win but odds low again. (6) SALEM SEELSTER has been favored in last two but busted in both. Qualifier was a blowout win.

(2) ALMOST THERE BOSS is facing tougher at Grand River and holding his own. Has been in claimers in the past; won five last year. (6) SHARKY won here last year, adds a tag now and draws perfect. Two- and three-back lines put him in the mix; 7/25 kicked home in 27 2/5. (9) PASSIONATE PRINCE is facing open claimers and getting minor checks. Likely needs a trip but should be a price. (1) FEISTY LIKE FIRE shows speed most weeks but can’t seem to hold. Barn capable of moving horses up.

Race 5: PURE IVORY FINAL: 2 YEAR OLD TROTTING FILLIES.

(6) COOL MA BELLE looms large after facile wins in both legs of the series. Draws better than those spots and should be up close again. (3) COLD SNAPS comes out of a fast mile where she was alone again. Will face more pressure here with the choice in the mix. (2) STUBBORN CHEE has two busts in two starts. She’s been well backed in both. Maybe barn can figure her out for Final. (10) DRAW THE LINE has two sub 28 kickers in two starts. I’m expecting her to sit and hope the chalks hook up here.

Race 6: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 3. 2 YEAR OLDS Pick 5

(5) STORMONT HAPPY DAY has raced well in last two; near miss 7/24 vs chalk; last at Georgian he was in the mix early. (6) CHARMBO TITAN is third up for McNair after improvement in start two. I think he leaves again here and did kick a 28 3/5 here on debut. (1) DEVILS KISS looks similar on paper. Decent try first start then second at Georgian in start two. Another to use in multis. (7) THE CANAM BANKER debuted with 1:57 2/5 blowout that led to Gold tries. Gait woes lead to drop and hope for rebound.

Race 7: MILLARD FARMS FINAL: 2 YEAR OLD TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS.

(2) SEND IT IN HANOVER has three easy wins so far and a post edge over main rival. Short price coming but looks like a multi-leg wager single. (9) TOP MAST was favored over that one on 7/20 but was second best. Stuck outside here which hurts his chances. (3) ROYAL BELUGA had trouble 8/3 and finished up well. Probably third choice here looking to build off that line; needs more to beat top two. (7) FLIGHT LANDING has chased the choice in last two and hasn’t disgraced. Needs a setup for better finish.

Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 3. 2 YEAR OLDS Pick 4

(1) R NO MERCY gets another rail draw looking to improve off the two seconds in three starts. Toss Gold line and he looks tough. (2) COME ON STANLEY just missed here on debut at this level. Pilot returns after even Georgian try. (4) ROYAL DUHARAS drops out of two Gold tries where he made minimal impression. This is a better spot but more speed is needed. (6) HILARIOUS ARCHIE needed first start and stayed flat, raced even. New pilot now looming for more aggression.

(2) DICE R OUT is another adding a tag looking for a wake up. 7/11 line was solid but hasn’t done much since. (1) HURRIKANEKINGCARLO adds Lasix after even try Monday. Barn excels with claimers and he has early speed. (6) KING JEWELS has six wins this year with three in last five. Closer is sharp and is in play with any trip.

(5) COMPASSROSE DE VIE is the hot horse coming into this with three wins in four starts at the level. Big track only question here. (1) SHEPLAYSFORKEEPS lacks a win this year but has plenty of shares. Barn is high percentage for a reason. (4) SNAKE EYES HANOVER ships from NY and adds a tag. Change of scenery could help her get involved. (9) GOING YARD is another shipper that gets a trainer change. Needs a wake-up but not the toughest spot.

(6) BEEF N CHEDDAR has five straight exacta finishes climbing the ladder. Has been excellent since 7/9 claim. (2) NO TIME AT ALL is no stranger to winning with eight in the last two years. Gets speed to chase here while facing a different bunch. (10) SUNSHINE LOVE adds Lasix and adds a claiming tag. More a “share” type the past few seasons. (7) HELLO ROCKY gets back to the big track where he won six last year and 69k; three of last four are hard to explain. (4) ABC has been flashing speed with Sorrie driving. Should grab another check.
