(6) TWENTYDOLLARDOLLY made a move down the backstretch when a horse in front of her got steppy, and was still able to track down the leader in the lane. She should prove to be a real threat on debut. (7) WATCHMEPARTY has a race under her belt, and a quick one at that. We’ll see if it’s repeatable or if she has the punch. (4) TREACHEROUS NOVA has just the one morning prep under her belt but she was moving well in the final quarter. She could get a piece tonight.

Race 2: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 1. 2 YEAR OLD TROTTING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).

(3) PEACHY DEE just missed on debut but it was a professional looking mile that she should build on. (4) GREEN SILVERADO seems like the main rival here. She opened up early in her last morning prep and didn’t let up. (2) SPOILED TO A T is progressing fine and actually got the nod from Mark Mac. She could get a piece on debut.

Race 3: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES: NW 1 RACE OR $10,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.

(5) TYMAL ROCKSTAR handled the rail in her debut and trotted a good mile behind Twin B Kingsley who tried a Gold the other night. (2) STOCKS AND BONDS was able to just beat out Market High in her last qualifier and looks ready for a good mile on debut. (8) TIC TAC FASHION is another Rick Zeron trainee who looks ready for a decent debut showing after two qualifiers. What trip she ends up with is the main concern.

Race 4: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 1. 2 YEAR OLD TROTTING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).

(3) DROMOLAND CASTLE looked much better in her second qualifier behind two fillies who tried a Gold on debut. The progression continuing likely makes her a big threat. (4) STORMONT MAGENTA pulled off a slight upset in her debut and looks like a filly who should get along with any driver. (1) SOMA doesn’t seem like she quite has the potential of the top two but I think this will wind up being a great spot for her throughout the season.

Race 5: FILLIES & MARES, 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $10,500 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $10,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.

(5) WILD ROSE HANOVER will have it all set up for her eventually. She trotted a nice mile last week but nobody was catching Stormont Shanlyboy. (2) ARKONA SEELSTER has just missed in each of her last two tries against maidens. It wouldn’t shock me if she got the job done either. (3) IN SESSION is hard to back on top given how frequently she doesn’t finish her miles.

Race 6: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $37,500 LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. AE: NW $5,750 L4.

(8) TREASURE THE DAY should be blasting from the outside. If that’s the case, he likely takes this field a long way. The question is if he can finish it. (2) HAPPY IN CONTROL likely needs a setup but could use his late kick to upset if the leaders falter. At the very least, he should add value to exotics if he gets involved. (5) ALLTHERIGHTPLACES adds Lasix after an improved effort in his latest. He could play spoiler here but needs to stay out of his own way.

Race 7: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 1. 2 YEAR OLD TROTTING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).

(3) DREAMTRADE finds a soft group for her debut and should be expected to improve for top connections. (8) ITSOEASYBEINGREEN could take this field a long way if she decides to go forward in the early stages. (5) DIAMONDOFDNORTH has a race under her belt and is continuing to progress. I don’t think she has the punch to hold off rivals, however.

Race 8: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $10,500 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $10,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.

(3) MASSCHETTE appeared to be sitting on a win after some decent efforts and finally put it all together last week. I think he shows us more tonight. (7) PETE GREEN trotted a decent back half in his first start on the big track and appears to have some potential. You have to swallow an obvious hurdle but there’s not much to beat here. (1) THRUFIREANDFLAMES returned with a fine effort at Sarnia where he took some air on the outside. I can see him getting a similar trip and earning a piece.

Race 9: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 1. 2 YEAR OLD TROTTING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).

(5) BEBA BLUE CHIP looked very professional in her second qualifier and edged away from her rivals without urging. (4) HOUSTONWEAVAPROBLEM was in a better spot last week and took advantage with a nice rally in the stretch. I would expect her to work out a similar trip. (2) THE WONDERFUL GIRL showed good speed on both ends of the mile on debut and gets a big post switch tonight.

Race 10: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $8,000 FOR NW $4,200 LAST 4 STARTS. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE.

(6) SKYLAR dropped into this level last week and cruised at odds on. He races off the claim tonight and looks to do the same thing. (1) HASSELHOFF posted his seasonal mark at Mohawk and is another who has been facing tougher. I think he comes up with a good effort tonight. (8) YVC ON THE HORIZON is versatile and should have a chance to hit the ticket no matter what trip he gets.
