(6) TOSS OF THE DICE was ambitiously spotted on debut, competing in a Gold event, but took another step forward in the speed department. If he shows that kind of speed again, he should be tough to beat. (2) GREENARROW HANOVER was much more visually impressive in his second qualifier and was closing down the stretch very well. He looks like a type that can improve quickly. (5) TOTALLY ICONIC was up against a pair of tough favorites who were going to be tough to beat. Still, he closed up well to get a check and should be forward tonight. (3) JETAIR gets away from the rail after making a miscue on debut. He can grab a share.

Race 2: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 3B. 3 YEAR OLD TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).

(1) MANFORCE has been excellent outside of Mohawk, and has excuses in his last three trips around the Campbellville oval. He should be able to work out a decent trip from the rail. (3) DAY got outsprinted in the lane, but it was still a strong mile trotted on the lead. He should find this group to his liking and be a major factor. (6) RISING INTEREST will be the one to keep an eye on in the stretch. His closing style leaves him vulnerable as a top pick. (8) WEARING THE GREEN could be aggressively handled tonight which sets up a potential rebound effort. A conservative steer cost him at Clinton as the favorite.

Race 3: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES: NW 1 RACE OR $8,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.

(4) LDS KIMBERLY looked set to put a strong effort forward in a weak Stallion Series division, but made a break at the start. I’ll give her another chance in her return to Mohawk. (6) EASY STATION followed two strong favorites the entire way around in her debut and paced home strong. She could get a cozy trip tonight. (7) LYONS HUNGRY APPLE was a blowout winner in her second morning prep. Does she go forward off the car? (5) ADINA HANOVER went a little wide in the final turn in her latest morning prep and was drifting slightly, but still got the job done. I’m not sure how to gauge her coming into her debut, so I’ll slot her underneath.

Race 4: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 3B. 3 YEAR OLD TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).

(1) CHICAGO HALL has done his best work of late when close to the lead. I would expect a quarter move from Jamieson as he tries to double up. (7) TRIX UP MY SLEEVE is improving with each start and should be in the mix again no matter what trip he gets. (8) ARTFUL DODGER went way too quick last week and now draws outside. Don’t take too short of a price. (4) THE TIME MACHINE is another who likes to be forward and pick up checks. A solid contender every week.

Race 5: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $8,500 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.

(2) GOAL DIGGER had a successful return to the races with a second place finish. He held off the horse who was charging at him to hold that spot. He should improve with more starts under his belt. (3) DULCES SUENOS DEO has shown decent speed here in the past and comes off a fine race at Pocono when up close. He could be forward again tonight. (9) MEADOWVIEW ROTHY made a nice move in the final quarter to grab second in just her second career start. The post is an issue, but similar closing speed can see her pass plenty of rivals late. (4) KAMA has early speed but can’t usually sustain it. He can hold on for a share.

Race 6: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING HANDICAP $8,000 TO $11,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000.

(6) GRAND CIRCUIT was pushed too hard as the heavy favorite in the Pop-Up Final and faded back to last. She deserves another shot on top. (4) HILLBILLY JET took advantage of the weak leader and was able to hold off the closers. It was an excellent drive by J-Mac who has been a sharp pairing with this mare lately. (5) KATYS DELIGHT took advantage of the hot pace and closed to be second at a big number. She is definitely improving. (3) JAZZVILLE is seemingly always in the mix. She should be forward again and battling late.

Race 7: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 3B. 3 YEAR OLD TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).

(5) GO BLUE is extremely logical in this spot, and is finally showing us that he can close out miles. He draws a perfect post to try and do it again. (4) OUTBOUND TRAIN rebounded strongly with a win from off the pace despite favorable fractions up top. He has made that style work plenty of times as of late. (8) SOLO C P beat a weaker bunch in his latest, but it was a strong win that makes him a contender if forwardly placed. (2) ALIMONY MIKE has two strong second place finishes in a row at this level. He should be fighting for a spot on the board.

Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD LEG 2: 2 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $900 CDN ($700 USD).

(3) A CLEAN DEAL took full advantage of the trip she got and outsprinted the rival who was in front of her. She should have every chance to remain perfect. (6) TH CHECK ME OUT got a great drive by Borth who knew he couldn’t sit third while the slower second quarter happened. She raced well but had to settle for second. (2) SHES A BULLDOG was making a menacing first over charge but got steppy and made a break. She is the wild card in this group. (1) JEN TILLY raced great considering she blasted from post nine and was interfered with at the top of the stretch. This Burke filly clearly has plenty of speed.

Race 9: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 3B. 3 YEAR OLD TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).

(2) SUNDAY SHOES was a very strong second in his latest. He has shown some nice ability this season and should be a major contender tonight. (4) ULTRA MYLES couldn’t quite hold on after a speed try but raced well again. He gives the Grassroots another try and should find success. (6) GASLIGHT HALL needs a confidence builder and could find one tonight. An aggressive steer wouldn’t shock me. (7) MR PASADENA can grab a check if he sustains his outside move.

Race 10: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $8,500 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.

(5) WHO ARE YOU paced home extremely well in her latest and appears to be sitting on a win. Not many of these have shown they can sustain front end speed. (7) SARA B DELIGHT can get into the race in multiple ways but hasn’t gotten the job done yet. She should be right there again. (1) WICKED WORDS gets major post relief after a speed try. J-Mac could get her a cozy trip with a quarter move. (4) ITLL BE ALRIGHT is one who will use early speed but needs to sustain it. (2) GUCCI SEELSTER can step forward in her second start since the qualifier and grab a piece of the Hi-5.
