Top Pick Stats: 40/146 (-$128.60) Best Bets: 5/13 (-$5.50); Spot Plays: 2/13 (-$15.60) Best Bet: ILLICIT BEHAVIOR (Race 6) Spot Play: STONEBRIDGE BLUFF (Race 4) Early Pick 5: 2,8/1,4/1,8,9/3,8/3,8   $9.60 Late Pick 5: 3/7/6,8/5,8/1,7,9   $2.40 Race 1: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES: NW 1 RACE OR $8,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (8) TWIN B FIERCE grinded out a second on debut behind a runaway winner. McNair’s pick looms large. (2) BRIANS HALO should appreciate the drop from stakes company. If she shows :54 speed again, she likely wins. (3) EASY STATION made amends in morning prep two and looks to step forward on debut. (6) ALL BETS ON KELLY showed her greenness early and late. I don’t have as much confidence in her stepping forward. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $8,500 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (1) SOLO C P continues to improve with every start made this season. He is sitting on a win against this short field. (4) PIER HO EMERALD could add some value to the exotics if she sits close. Her one move could be used to poke through and surprise. (6) TRIX UP MY SLEEVE got the perfect kind of trip for an inexperienced horse. Another step forward puts him in contention. (3) SUPERGIRL MOLLY continues to torch money but at least showed some late interest in what looked like a staggerfest in the stretch. When she puts it all together, I won’t be cashing. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at 1/ST BET PRO!] Race 3: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 1. 2 YEAR OLD TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD). (8) GREAT TRICKSTER was given every chance on debut and responded well. Another forward trip puts him in contention. (9) HOT COUNTRY was a solid second behind The Green Gazoo who I like later in the card. He will need to be forward from this post. (1) FIRST CLASS MASS should be expected to show more on debut for top connections. Another race where J-Mac’s is listed on a few. (3) L P BAY hung around for a piece in a short field. He can do the same tonight. Race 4: 2 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: NW 1 RACE OR $8,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (8) STONEBRIDGE BLUFF showed some ability on debut and should have a chance to show it again tonight with a forward trip. (3) SWEET LOVIN LOU cruised in his second morning prep after a pocket trip. He has not been fully unleashed yet. (6) LDS HUNTER lost his cover but didn’t pace a bad mile. He should be catching the eye late. (5) KAPTAINKRAVE paced fine on debut but will need to be closer if he wants to challenge for a higher finish. Race 5: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 1. 2 YEAR OLD TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD). (3) MIKE ME UP has progressed in each morning prep and has learned different styles. He should be a factor right away. (8) CRUNCHINTHEODDS has enough late ability to contend if close. Borth could oblige on the drop. (4) GREEN NINETEEN has just one even morning prep but seems pointed here for a reason. Bax freshmen always merit respect. (1) I DRINK SHE DRIVES hasn’t shown much in two morning preps but many usually don’t. He should be coming from further back. Race 6: 2 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: NW 1 RACE OR $8,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (3) ILLICIT BEHAVIOR looked extremely strong when winning his second qualifier with no McClure urging. His price will be right. (7) DAD was impressive as expected on debut but got picked off late. He is the one to beat on paper. (4) TWIN B CABO would have been a major contender on debut but was scratched sick. We’ll see how far that set him back. (6) CRAZY TRAIN was overmatched in the stake on debut, but the drop will help. Race 7: POP UP SERIES FINAL: FILLIES & MARES CLAIMING $8,000 FOR NW $5,000 LAST 5 STARTS. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (7) GRAND CIRCUIT has stamped her authority on this Pop Up group with two runaway wins. She races off the claim again and is the one to beat. (3) KATYS DELIGHT produced a decent late rally in her latest and nearly got second. She could wind up best of the rest at a price. (8) HILLBILLY JET was no match for Grand Circuit in leg two. She can sit a good trip if aggressively handled again. (1) ACE FORTYFOUR DAISY is 1-for-1 off the claim after a first over score. The key for the bottom two is where Macdonald goes. Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 1. 2 YEAR OLD TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD). (6) THE GREEN GAZOO tracked down qualifier rivals impressively and looks to have plenty more. (8) THE CONQUEROR was making up ground in the late stages and could benefit off a forward trip. (1) JETAIR has looked solid in both morning preps but will need more late. Could have more when following a helmet, but we don’t know yet. (9) BRYDGIE was even on debut and now draws wide. Jamieson could be forced to go forward. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $30,000 (OS $53,500) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (8) SHES LAWLESS was behind dull cover before tipping wide and still closed for second. An aggressive steer could be in the cards tonight from the outside. (5) KIERA SEELSTER tried two moves in a fast race. Look for a rebound effort against this group. (3) GRANNYS WATCHING gets her nose on the gate in what is just her second start since April. The upside is there assuming she steps forward. (6) INUKSHUK SALLY threw in a clunker last week, but was off nearly a month coming into that effort. What version do we get tonight? Race 10: CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $75,000 (OS $90,000) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (9) ABOVEMYPAYGRADE missed by inches in his latest.  I’ll give him one more try tonight, hoping that he passes a couple in the early stages to set himself up. (7) WORLD REVIVAL could add plenty of value to exotics if he stays in form. Will also be looking for a live helmet. (1) SHREDDAR may not be as pressured from the inside and could find himself with a cozy trip. (5) BEACH CRUISER got a slick steer from James Macdonald en route to a repeat win. I’m against at a short price. (8) ARTSALIVE adds Lasix after an even race. Will need to show more late.
