She had to go wide around some scattered rivals that was a result of a filly putting in a bad step, and she recovered nicely to be 3rd. She draws the pole position and could work out a good enough trip to find her way into the winner’s circle here. (7) MY GELATO left out hard from the 10 hole, then was forced to come first-up against a dominant winner in her latest. She was used a couple of times in that effort for the first time all season, and that should bode well for her from a fitness standpoint tonight. She draws better and she can have a better result, so long as she works out an easier trip. (3) KOBRA KATE failed to hit the board in her latest try. She started from pp9 in that contest and got interfered with early, and was pacing okay late in the mile. We’ve seen some strong efforts from her and this is one that could put forth a good showing with the right trip; using.  (9) CHARLOTTE STATION is making her sophomore debut off a freshman campaign that saw her go winless in six tries. She qualified vs. some very nice fillies but she has just one lone qualifier gearing up for her sophomore debut. She draws outside but can make some noise in here if she’s tight enough. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: CLAIMING HANDICAP $8,000 TO $11,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE (8) BET NINTEEN was aggressively handled from the outside and tired to be 3rd. He draws outside yet again but in a field of eight, might not have to work as hard to make the front, which should allow him to work out a more favorable trip. I’ll give him the nod to rebound. (3) HERESTHATMANAGAIN looked good out there in the post parade and it resulted in a strong showing, as he picked off rivals to score late. He draws inside and can work out another favorable trip this evening. (5) BETTOR THAN PRIDE was aggressively handled in his latest and he hung around for a 2nd place effort. He draws well here and should be pointed forward yet again, making him a threat. (4) FOREFATHER hasn’t found the winner’s circle in 13 starts this year. He can be a threat if the pace scenario works out in his favor, and can grab a share late. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $8,500 LIFETIME (7) DELON comes off a pair of qualifiers, including a dominant score in his latest as he gears up for his career debut. He will pick up the services of James MacDonald for this contest and is one that could be tough to beat if he can replicate that qualifying effort; top call. (6) SOUTHWIND CASPIAN will make his sophomore debut after a rookie campaign that saw him go winless in eight tries. He took on stakes company for most of those efforts and put forth respectable efforts in those tries. He draws pp6 and will be the biggest threat to the one above. (5) FISHERMANS BLUES has hit the board in four of seven tries this year and draws well enough where he can grab another share. (8) THE GOVERNOR finished 3rd in his latest effort and should have every chance to hit the board again. Race 4: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $8,500 LIFETIME (10) ALL MY WISHES will be set to make her 3YO debut. She is coming off a 4th place qualifying effort and was moving well late in that mile. It might be a tough ask having to start from pp10, but this is a filly that possesses gate speed, and could be a factor if she’s put in play. She’ll offer up a price and I’ll give her the nod here. (1) DEDICATION is coming off a pair of qualifiers as she gears up for her career debut. This daughter of Big Jim got a bit green at the top of the lane when she started drifting out, but straightened out when asked for some reminders by her pilot James MacDonald. She looked a little green on the front and can be competitive vs. this group at first asking. (3) YS FLOWERNUMBERTEN finished 3rd in her most recent. She has hit the board in four of her six tries this year and she should be among them late. (2) GUCCI SEELSTER landed in this class last time and had equipment issues; worth another look. Race 5: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $8,500 LIFETIME (8) SUPERGIRL MOLLY will be making her sophomore debut off a pair of qualifiers. She trotted well to be 3rd in her most recent and got picked off by a nice filly in her first one. She draws outside here and will have to float out early of the gate if she wants to contend, but she did qualify well enough to give her a nod vs. this group. (5) SHESAMANALISHI was a runner-up finisher in her latest try by a filly who just burst through with good trot. This daughter of Green Manalishi is inching closer to a trip to the winner’s circle and it could very well come here. (3) YS QUEEN BETH is coming off a 4th place qualifying try as she gears up for her 3YO debut. She finished up nicely in that morning prep and draws well for this effort. She can grab a big piece. (2) ANGELIC finished 3rd in her latest effort. She worked out a nice trip as she has in her recent efforts, but is tough to love as a win candidate. She can hit the ticket. Race 6: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING HANDICAP $8,000 TO $11,000 (8) WIFEY SAID SO is coming off an effort where she was strong in defeat in her latest. She took constant pressure for the entire mile and still hung around to grab the place spot. She draws outside but she will be pointed forward in this effort, and will likely be the one to catch in this spot. (1) TAMARA HANOVER was moving best of them all last week in a 5th place effort. She has had difficulty pacing over some of her recent tries and is one that is sitting on a big effort, but she is still a risky proposition from a trust standpoint; using. (4) JAZZVILLE capitalized off a good trip in her latest for an easy score. She is always a danger when she has fresh legs late and can benefit from having speed to chase here as well. (3) DOLLYDAYDREAM was a nice winner in her latest where she swept the field at Flamboro Downs. She faces tougher company but can grab a piece. Race 7 : FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $8,500 LIFETIME (6) P L SAPPHIRE is coming off a pair of nice qualifiers as she gears up for her first start of 2025. She was winless in nine tires as a rookie but should have every opportunity to break her maiden here; picks up the services of Bob McClure. (2) BANKS A MILLION was a distant 3rd in her most recent to a dominant winner. She left out for early positioning and was denied the front by a dominant winner. She had to take a hole to be 3rd and finished in that same position when it was all said and done. She can take a step further here. (7) GREEN MANS JOY worked out a tough trip from pp10 in her latest. She draws much better here and should have every chance at securing a good piece. (9) LONG LEGS draws outside but she can close for a share late. Race 8: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $8,500 LIFETIME (4) BLUE HERON was trotting well late in the mile to be a good 2nd to a dominant winner. He should be tighter going into his second start of his 3YO season and is the one I’ll give top billing to in this spot. (1) POPPIN BOTTLES is coming off a pair of qualifiers, including a runner-up finish in his most recent prep to a rival we have pegged as a top selection earlier on in the card. He starts from the rail and could be ready here at first asking off the bench. (6) SEASONAL is coming off a pair of qualifiers to kick off his sophomore campaign and can hit the ticket. (8) SOUL STEALER never left the rail and was an even 5th in that try. He can grab a share. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $60,500 (OS $75,500) LIFETIME (7) JOB HUNTER was aggressively handled in her latest en route to a dominant score. She was claimed out of that contest and will now race for new trainer Jay Harris, who will also be driving her in this evening’s affair. I’m expecting a similar effort and result here. (3) SUPERIOR DELIGHT was a runner up finisher to the choice in her latest. She’ll need to find a little more if she wants to compete, but she’s certainly shown she’s capable. (2) ALLSMOKEANDMIRRORS grabbed the show spot behind these two last time out. She can hit the board yet again. (5) FOX VALLEY TATUM rounded out the super in her latest and will have every chance to do the same. Race 10: FILLIES & MARES NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $37,500) LIFETIME (1) ZETTE ATHENA was confidently handled last time out and absolutely cruised to a victory. She will be tough to beat off that effort and should have every opportunity to repeat. (3) LILY LACE comes off a 3rd place qualifying effort as she heads into her 3YO debut. She flashed some good late trot in that effort and is one that can put forth a good showing here. (6) TH MONICA will make her sophomore debut off one qualifier. She draws well, but loses her driver to our top choice. She will pick up James MacDonald in this contest and can grab a piece. (5) KANKOON is coming off back to back scores at Flamboro. She should be brimming with confidence and have every chance to hit the ticket. (7) BEERSNSUNSHINE DEO hasn’t hit the board in both starts this year, but can turn things around here.
