(2) SOLO CP will be making his 2025 debut, and is coming off a lone qualifying prep ahead of it. He made two starts as a rookie which resulted in him jumping it off in each of those tries, then never made another start. He comes into this effort with a nice, second place finish under tight lines to driver James MacDonald, and if he stays to task this evening, he could prove tough to fend off in the late stages of this mile. (6) SEASONAL was a 3rd place finisher in his sophomore debut here at Mohawk Park, and then made his second try at Flamboro Downs in a Grassroots leg. He added trotting hopples in that contest for the half-mile oval, but made a miscue early on. He is back on the big track and draws well, and he should be able to bounce back with a good effort; using. (7) YOU GUESSED IT disappointed as the choice in what was his first start of 2025. He was aggressively handled in that contest but was no match for a dominant winner, regardless. His qualifying preps gearing up for his sophomore debut were strong, and I won’t let him knock me out of this opening p5 leg; using. (8) CALL ME PARKER was a non-factor in the SBOA Final. He is winless in 16 career tries, and has been given perfect trips to break his maiden in vs. company he should’ve gotten the best of. He wouldn’t surprise me if he won, but he’s a toss of multis for me. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2:  FILLIES & MARES NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $37,500) LIFETIME. (4) ROYAL MOON was aggressively handled in her latest at a big number. She was stuck behind a rival who was unable to keep up, and showed very good trot late in the mile when shaking loose. She draws even better this evening, and I’m expecting another aggressive steer, and a good showing to boot; top call. (3) KADDIDLE was aggressively handled after making a first-over bid in her latest. She went by the one above with relative ease but was able to hang-on to the choice, who was surging hard up the inside. She draws well and she is a major threat to double up. She merits respect.  (6) ZETTE ATHENA was used a couple of times early and tired late in the mile to disappoint as the choice. She draws well here and she should be aggressively handled here. She is a bounce-back candidate. (1) CLARISSA W has been 2nd in both of her starts in 2025. She has been handled differently in each of those efforts tactically, but with a rail draw this evening, I’m anticipating her racing from off a helmet. She can grab a share. Race 3: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $36,500 LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (5) SHES LAWLESS ships in from Flamboro off a pair of strong efforts. She was a nice winner two starts back where she swooped the field from the back of the pack, and was a game 2nd to a contender after benign first-up for most of the mile. She draws well, but will look to be picking off horses late, and the longer stretch will give her more runway this evening. I’ll give her the nod here. (4) CENTURY LUNAR will try this claiming event and is coming off a 3rd place effort in a grassroots leg in her latest. She is winless in six tries but she should be sitting on a good effort in vs. this group; draws well, (6) P L RINCHENIA will be making her 7th start in 2025, but this will be her first start since February. This mare made an aggressive bid for the lead in her qualifying prep leading up to this outing, and got hung out to dry the entire mile. She tired, understandable so, but should be more than fit coming into a race like this off that attempt. She draws well and she merits respect in a wide open race. (2) WOODMERE DELTA was never a factor in her qualifier and wasn’t able to keep up through most of it. The effort wasn’t enticing but this is the softest group she will take on in quite some time. Race 4: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $8,500 LIFETIME. (3) ETERNAL EMBRACE will be making her 2nd lifetime start after being a non-factor in her career debut. She failed to hit the board and basically took a trip around the Campbellville oval in that try with driver JB Renaud. This filly was coming off just one qualifier leading up to that effort, and likely needed a start to get tighter. She picks up the services of driver James MacDonald here, which indicates she should be ready for a good showing. (5) EDWINA will be making her 2nd start of 2025 after making a miscue in that try. This will be her first start since April 10, but she is coming into this start off a winning qualifier where she was full of trot late in the mile. She has had difficulty staying to task throughout her young career, but if driver Scott Young (who sided with this one over the one below) can keep her trotting like he did in that most recent prep – look out. (7) BUDDIES DREAM was aggressively handled in her 2nd lifetime start, and tired late to finish 3rd. It was the first time this filly saw the lead off an effort where she finished with late trot behind rivals. She had a chance to stretch her legs a bit and she is capable of a strong showing here with the right trip. Louis-Phillippe Roy will be at the controls here. (4) TRICKY TRISH is coming off an easy, maiden-breaking score in a Prospect Series leg at Kawartha Downs. She draws well and can continue to improve in this spot. She should be coming in with confidence. Race 5: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD LEG 1. 3 YEAR OLD TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS. (8) P L SPENCER will be entering this Gold leg off a strong win in his latest. He had missed one month prior to that effort after being a sick-scr in his SBOA Elim. Driver Bob McClure left out aggressively with this gelded-son of Resolve, but never left the rail in that contest, trotting home in :27 2/5 in sloppy race conditions to score comfortably. He should be able to take another step forward off that effort in a division that looks like it could be wide open all year long. I’ll give him the nod here. (6) ALIMONY MIKE was strong in a 3rd place effort in his sophomore debut. He was conservatively handled from the rail and made gains on the pace setter despite her getting favorable panels. He draws the best post this evening, and driver Tyler Jones will have options early on. He is a contender. (4) LOOKATMEGOAMIGO was aggressively handled in the SBOA final, but came to a walk late. He draws well here and will be driven by Louis-Phillippe Roy, who was able to guide him to a tripped out score two starts back. He can grab a big piece. (3) CHICAGO HALL is coming off a strong, 3rd-place finish in the SBOA Final. He was able to pick up a good piece despite an outside draw, and he will have every chance to land on the ticket here. Race 6: POP UP SERIES: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $25,000 (OS $31,250) LIFETIME. (4) COASTLINE will come into this start having missed a few weeks, but will now race out of the Julie Walker barn. He failed to hit the board in two starts for trainer Shayne Barrington, but had outside draws in those contests and was never a factor from the get-go. He will now race on the Lasix medication here and picks up James MacDonald. I’ll give him a shot and hope for a better trip. (5) DIAMOND RYDER has hit the board twice over his last eight tries. He finds a spot where he should be competitive in, and draws a great post to boot. He will retain driver Jody Jamieson in this contest and he will more than likely be handled aggressively here; contender. (1) THEJACKOFDIAMONDS will stretch his legs out on the big track this evening, after racing in London all season long. He has hit the board in 8 of 13 tries this year and he will have a chance to add to that here. (7) BEACHOFANERA has hit the board once in 3 tries for new trainer Jason Libby. He has experience having raced on the big track before, but will need a trip to be a factor here.  Race 7:  5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $8,500 LIFETIME. (5) EUROBANK HANOVER will be making his sophomore debut off a pair of qualifiers. He made a miscue in his first prep and followed that up with a winning effort in his 2nd outing. He added trotting hopples in that prep and was able to stay to task throughout. He draws well and should be able to work out a favorable trip in a field that’s untrustworthy. (8) KENOGAMI MAT made a miscue in his latest tri, but was a runner up finisher in his two starts prior. He has been inching closer to a victory and is one that can put forth a competitive showing vs. this group. JR Plante picks up the driver. (3) WHITE IGNITE is coming off a 2nd place finish in a qualifying effort, after being forced to get in a morning prep as a result of consecutive breaks. She can grab a share. (4) THE TIME MACHINE failed to hit the board in his recent try at Flamboro Downs. He draws well here and can land on the ticket. Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD LEG 1. 3 YEAR OLD TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS. (7) RITCHIE RICH has continued to impress this season. He has raced well and has overcome tough draws in a handful of his outings this year, and that hasn’t seemed to stop him from putting forth strong efforts. He will try his hand here in a Gold, but I think he’s shown enough to be competitive here. (4) GALEN ERSO came first up into a strong wind and was still able to trot strongly towards the wire. He draws well today and will take plenty of support at the windows off that effort. He’s the one to beat. (5) DAY made a miscue in the SBOA final last time out. He was moving well in the elimination two starts prior and is one that is capable of a good showing if he stays to task. (3) MODELO GOLD made his first start in three weeks after a nice score in the Ontario Sired Spring Series Final. His latest try wasn’t that inspiring but he’s better than what he showed in that outing. He merits respect if he’s on his game. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING HANDICAP $8,000 TO $11,000. (5) STAY PUMPED made her second start for new trainer Pam Forgie in her latest, after a winning effort in her first start in the new barn at Sarnia. She was never a factor in her latest after sitting behind dead cover at the back of the pack, but was moving nicely late. She draws much better here and with a start over the bigger oval, I think she is ready for a stronger showing here. (3) TAMARA HANOVER was moving well late in the mile to grab the place spot. She is tough to trust given where she gets away off the car, but is a danger late in the mile if there’s speed to chase. (7) CORA CORA CORA went on a speed mission in her latest and tired late. She has put forth solid showing in both starts for new trainer Malik Smith, and seems to be inching closer to a victory. She is a strong candidate to hit the ticket here. (4) WIFEY SAID SO has failed to hit the ticket over her last three starts. We know what she’s capable at this level when she’s at her best. Race 10: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $60,000 (OS $91,500) LIFETIME. (4) ALLSMOKEANDMIRRORS was razor sharp in victory last week, drawing away from her rivals despite a long, first-over journey. She draws even better this evening and can work out a less taxing trip in this spot; but if last week is any indication, it might not matter. (3) JOB HUNTER made an uncharacteristic bobble approaching the opening turn, in her first start for new trainer Des Tackoor. She added Lasix in that effort and should be able to put forth a good showing here. (5) SUPERIOR DELIGHT was aggressively handled in her latest, and was unable to fend off the choice, who was a strong winner that evening. She will be pointed forward in this spot and could be the one to chase yet again. (8) JAZZVILLE was a tripped out winner in her latest. She was claimed out of that contest by new trainer Carmen Auciello and can hit the ticket. (9) KIERA SEELSTER will make her 2nd start of 2025, and her first since January. She is coming off a 4th place qualifying prep ahead of this start. She draws outside and can land on the ticket here.
