Top Pick Stats: 115/384 = -$78.60 Best Bets: 12/38 = –$19.20 Spot Plays: 7/38 = -$10.70 Best Bet: NIGHTINGALE (RACE 2) Spot Play: INDUSTRIALISTS (RACE 7) Early Pick 5: 2,5,6,7 / 2 / 1,2 / 5,7 / 7,9,10 = $9.60 Late Pick 5: 5,7 / 6 / 7 / 7,8 / 2,3,4,5 = $3.20 Pick 6: 5,7 / 7,9,10 / 5,7 / 6 / 7 / 7,8 = $4 Race 1: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $8,500 LIFETIME (5) FILLY BOO stayed trotting in her latest in what was a 4th place effort. She draws the middle of the gate and could be more aggressively handled in this spot from driver JR Plante. I’ll give her the nod in a race I find to be the biggest head scratcher of the night. (7) PAHOKEE failed to hit the board in her latest but I’m willing to be more forgiving on that effort given the weather conditions that were presented that evening. She has hit the board in 4 of 6 tries and looks to be inching closer to career victory #1. (2) P C SUNSHINE GIRL is gearing up for her career debut off a long qualifying effort. She finished a distant 4th but had a bit of trot late in the mile when finding a seam. She’s tough to love here but is one that has a chance with the right trip. (6) SHESAMANALISHI is coming off a 3rd place qualifying effort and finished just ahead of the one above. She will make just her 2nd lifetime start and picks up the services of Bob McClure; I'm intrigued.  [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: ONTARIO SIRED SPRING SERIES TROT: ONTARIO SIRED 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES, NW $30,000 IN 2024 (2) NIGHTINGALE stayed trotting in a pari-mutuel start for the first time in her young career, and was able to flaunt a nice late kick in a 3rd place finish. She made about a lot of ground in a short period of time on a night that favored front end speed, and is one that I’ll give top billing to here. (6) ROXIE HART stayed to task in her recent race and she rewarded her backers with an easy victory. She was a wrapped-up winner and will most definitely be the one to beat here. (1) RESOLVE INDEED floated out for early positioning and got jammed up just after the half when driver James MacDonald was deciding whether to sit or go. She didn’t have much pop in that effort but is capable of a good effort here. (3) EARTHA K went on a speed mission in her latest and got picked off by a very determined filly. She’ll have every opportunity to land on the ticket. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $60,000 (OS $75,000) LIFETIME (1) MY LAST KISS is coming off a 3rd place effort after being stuck behind a rival who began to tire. She angled out late in the mile and had every opportunity to be 2nd, but secured the show spot. She was a winner at this level in back to back starts before this one, and is one that should be able to work out a favorable trip here, even from the rail. (2) SUPERIOR DELIGHT found herself in this condition claimer and notched her fourth straight victory. She is the sharpest mare in this field and will be the one to take down here. (7) FOX VALLEY TATUM has hit the board in 5 of her last 6 tries. She draws outside and will need to work harder to get positioning early, but should be able to land on the ticket here. (5) JOB HUNTER was aggressively handled in her latest and faded to 5th. She could end up with a better result with a different trip. Race 4: ONTARIO SIRED SPRING SERIES PACE: ONTARIO SIRED 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES, NW $30,000 IN 2024 (7) COEURATOUT DU LAC is one that I pegged as a spot play last week after showing good pace at the end of her mile two starts back. She got away 4th off the car in her latest and finished 3rd in that effort, on a night where you needed to be close to the action. I’ll give her another nod here this evening and hope she can get the job done. (5) THE LIES WE TELL came off a winning qualifier and she was able to follow that up with a maiden-breaking score. She converted off a pocket trip and draws a spot on the gate where she’ll have every opportunity to work out a similar trip; contender. (1) DRUNK DIAL put forth a good showing in her first start of 2025. She got away towards the back of the pack but found a seam late in the mile and was a strong 2nd in that contest. She can grab a big piece with the right trip.  (9) KANDY KISS got picked off by the pocket sitter in her latest after controlling it for most of the mile. She draws outside but has enough early speed to get involved early and can stick around for a share. Race 5: CLAIMING HANDICAP $8,000 TO $11,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE (10) LADYFORD DOLLAR GB ships in from Rideau off three straight wins. He has been perfect since being purchased by owner/trainer John Macmillan and will pick up the services of Doug McNair in this contest. He starts from pp10, but that should help inflate the price and is one I’ll give the nod to in this spot. (9) FOREFATHER has failed to hit the board in three straight tries. He drops down in this cheaper claiming class and adds Lasix coming into this contest. He is the fastest horse in this field and merits respect if he can put it together. (7) BET NINTEEN was aggressively handled in his latest and was able to score comfortably as the choice. He should be summoned off the wings early here and that makes him a repeat threat. (1) HERESTHATMANAGAIN comes off a 2nd place effort to the one above. He hadn’t raced in over a month coming into that contest and should be even tighter here. Race 6: ONTARIO SIRED SPRING SERIES TROT: ONTARIO SIRED 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES, NW $30,000 IN 2024 (5) DEBRA delivered a nice victory in her first start of 2025, as she converted off a pocket trip as the co-favorite. She was coming off a lackluster qualifying effort just three days before her seasonal debut, and should be even tighter coming into this evening; top call. (7) CORE RESOLVE showed some good wheels at the end of her mile last time out in what was her first start of 2025. If she can sit close to the action, she could prove tough to fend off. (1) WHITE IGNITE was never a factor in her latest after finishing 6th. She will pick up a catch driver in Mario Baillargeon this evening, and is one that could play the role of upsetter if she replicates her form from those qualifying efforts. (6) THE GREEN BOOK was never a factor off a winning qualifier that was a good one. She draws better here and could improve in her 2nd start back. Race 7: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $8,500 LIFETIME (6) INDUSTRIALISTS returns back to Ontario after racing in the United States, where he was taking on much tougher rivals in those contests. He has hit the board in 6 of 9 tries this year and is back racing against maidens, and this is as good a spot for him to notch career victory #1 of his career. (10) RITCHIE RICH is one I put up as a top choice last week despite the miscue two starts back. He added trotting hopples in that contest and trotted the lane willingly, but is likely up against it having to start from pp10 this evening. (3) THE BEAR A CUDA was 3rd in his 2025 debut. He should be tighter in start #2 and can grab a good piece here. (2) CALL ME PARKER makes his sophomore debut off a runner-up qualifying effort. He was winless in 11 tries as a freshman and can grab a share in his first start of 2025. Race 8: ONTARIO SIRED SPRING SERIES PACE: ONTARIO SIRED 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES, NW $30,000 IN 2024 (7) WHISKEY BLUE CHIP romped in a dominant victory in the first leg of this Ontario Sired Spring Series. She should be aggressively handled in this spot yet again and will prove tough to take down. (4) SHE PREFERS GIN was 4th in her 2025 debut. She draws better than she did in her latest and could work out a more favorable trip. (3) CHILLINONTHEBEACH failed to hit the board in her first start of 2025. She will go back to the barn of Scott Mceneny here and will have every opportunity to hit the ticket. (2) MAFALDA hasn’t hit the board in four tries this year, but should have every opportunity to round out the super in this short field. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING HANDICAP $8,000 TO $11,000 (7) TAMARA HANOVER made a miscue off the gate in her latest and was out of it early. She still recovered nicely to be 5th and was pacing as good as anyone in that effort. She will now race for new trainer Kyle Fellows and is one I’ll give the nod to in here. (8) WIFEY SAID SO drove on to the lead and was able to score in gate to wire fashion. She draws the furthest outside and will likely be the one to beat in the spot, and could prove tough to catch yet again. (4) DOLLYDAYDREAM has finished 3rd at this level in back to back starts. She has a post advantage on the two main rivals and could potentially turn the tables with the right trip. She’s hit the board in 6 of 8 starts this year. (2) AK BLACK BADGER was a 2nd place finisher in her latest after working out a good trip. She can hit the ticket. Race 10: FILLIES & MARES NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $37,500) LIFETIME (3) BEERSNSUNSHINE DEO is making her sophomore debut off a 2025 qualifier where she was distant 3rd in that prep. She came first over from the back of the pack and was under tight lines to driver Tyler Borth and appeared to have more to offer. This filly hit the board in 6 of 9 tries this year while taking on a few stakes types and can notch a winning debut here with the right trip; top call. (4) IVY LYNN was a comfortable winner in her most recent qualifier over the one above. She draws well, will pick up the services of James MacDonald and will be summoned off the gate early. (5) INCANTATION was a tight 3rd after leading the way for most of the mile. She lost a shoe in the process and was charted for broken equipment. She draws better this evening and should make her presence felt early. (2) KADIDDLE rallied late in the mile to secure a 4th place effort. She has always shown good speed at the end of her miles but finds herself too much work to do. She should be able to hit the ticket. (7) HOPE N GLORY has hit the board in 3 of her last 5 tries and is a candidate to add to that total here.
