Top Pick Stats: 162 – 533 / $790.90 (-$271.30) Best Bets: 27 – 50 / $84.10 (-$15.90) Spot Plays: 8 – 49 / $35.10 (-$63.90) Best Bet: TIMELY BET (4TH) Spot Play: FATHER DANIELS (8TH) Early Pick 5: 3,4/2,6,7/4,5,6/6,7/7,8 = $14.40 Late Pick 5: 1,4/8,9/2,6,9/1,5/5,7,10 = $14.40 Early Pick 4: 6,7/7,8/1,4/8,9 = $3.20 Late Pick 4: 8,9/2,6,9/1,5/5,7,10 = $7.20 Race 1: ONTARIO SIRED SPRING SERIES TROT 3YO FILLIES 1st Leg **Gtd. $100,000 Pick 5** (3) RESOLUTE LADY tuned up for this series with a facile score in her sophomore debut and she is the one to beat to kick off the Pick 5. (4) LEXUS ANGEL was no match for Winning Alliance last week racing over a good track, but her previous two starts put her right there with the choice. She is the other one that I’ll use in the Pick 5. (7) ALL OUT MARILYN looked good breaking her maiden in her seasonal debut, but this is tougher. I’ll use her underneath. (9) HALLIE INTHECLOUDS loses Macdonald here and I see her closing late to take a small share. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: NW1 or $7,500 LT $170,000 Lexington buy (6) VINCENDI BLUE CHIP is from a dam that produced seven winners from eight foals that have raced and this gelding lands in a good spot for this debut; top call. (7) SPY CRAFT paced a 55-flat back 1/2 in his debut and I could see him notching the upset here if he lays closer; using. (2) BET ON SUNSHINE paced a couple of good miles in December and Macdonald coaxed a 26-flat kicker out of him on 12/22. He is another in with a chance. (3) BROOKDALE GEORGE is another that paced a nice back 1/2 that can improve enough to take a share in this spot; using. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: ONTARIO SIRED SPRING SERIES PACE 3YO FILLIES 1st Leg (4) GOGETTERMISSCHEDDR gets away from impressive Mikki Sixx here and she shows identical 27 2/5 kickers in her last two starts against that rival. She gets top billing here in what should be an easier spot. (5) LE BEC FIN had no chance trying to come from where she did in her sophomore debut, but that closing effort should serve as a perfect tightener for this series. I expect her to be more aggressive early in the mile tonight; using. (6) LIGHTNING LIZZIE is the obvious threat coming in off a sharp winning effort and she is hard to leave off Pick 5 tickets. (1) CATCH MY BREATH is another that has been chasing Mikki Sixx. She should be part of the exotics. Race 4:  NW1 or $7,500 LT Pick 4 (6) TIMELY BET raced well last week but he couldn’t hold off the chalk in the lane. He has a good chance vs. these. (7) FRED AGAIN interests me moving into the Beaton barn; price look for multi-race tickets. (3) CAPTAIN NASHVILLE, who has taken six slices in eight starts so far this year, is a good one to use underneath here. (9) DAB OCOLOR was a decent 3rd in his sophomore debut but he got set back for a pylon violation. He can take a slice at a price. Race 5: 5YO and younger NW1 or $7,000 LT $500,000 Harrisburg yearling (7) GREENSPRING debuts here, and she can get the job done in this field if she stays flat. (8) TENACIOUS TOOTSIE was probably going to win last week if she didn’t jump it off in midstretch. Perhaps she was affected by racing on a wet track in a blizzard that night. She should be right there if she behaves. (5) FASHION CONTENDER is sure-gaited and she takes frequent shares. She is in the exotics mix here. (3) STAR HAIRDRESSER is another that stays flat and takes shares; using underneath. Race 6: ONTARIO SIRED SPRING SERIES PACE 3YO FILLIES Pick 5 I thought (4) RIGHT MATCH paced a big mile on the rim last week, continuing to advance when the pace accelerated, and I’ll give her top billing here. (1) MARGOSGOTTHECARGO had her unbeaten streak broken when she started from post 10 last time and now she has missed close to a month. She is obviously capable, but she doesn’t have to win in this opening leg after missing some time. (5) CONTROL THE FIRE had some Grassroots wins last year and she qualified nicely for this sophomore debut. I see her closing for a share tonight. (6) ALWAYS A CATCH comes off two decent efforts in a row. She should sit a trip racing close to the front and land a share. Race 7: 5YO and younger NW1 or $7,000 LT Pick 4 (9) TEA LAKE was 0 for 13 last year but she shows some performances that would be good to win here. I’ll take a shot with her in this sophomore debut hoping she gets an aggressive steer. (8) CALLIXTUS HANOVER raced well in defeat in the snow last week and he is the one to beat. (3) DUNVEGAN CASH shows two decent efforts in a row and he can land in the Tri here, too. (5) QUICK FIX is 1 for 37 but he takes frequent slices, and he is a good one to use on the bottom of the exotics. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 8: 5YO and younger NW2 (F&M3) or $20,000 LT I’ll excuse (2) FATHER DANIELS break in stride racing in the snow last week. His race two starts back puts him right there with these and he gets top billing. (9) LMC MR SQUISHY has a similar profile as the choice and his race two starts back when a good 2nd to Tyrone Bow Tie makes him a top contender here. (6) NORTHERNCHANCELLOR was a Grassroots winner at 2 and he fired 28 and change kickers in both qualifiers prepping for this sophomore debut. He is another that is in with a chance here but it’s hard to predict intent for a Sires Stakes colt making his first start of the year. (5) POOF was a distant 3rd to outstanding Convoy Hall and he should be in the exotics mix again tonight. Race 9: NW1 or $7,500 LT (5) CHARLIES WISH was part of a strange race in his debut. He left and protected pocket position, then the leader jammed up the field and then drifted off the rail in the third quarter and was passed, and moved back in front of Charlies Wish who then got fumbly gaited. I’ll stick with this gelding here. (1) BRINGITONHOMETOME is another that was affected in that race, and he came back on late for 3rd. He is in with a decent chance tonight. (8) LYONS BRUSHMARKS took on the leader and eventual winner on the final turn. He couldn’t stay with him but that was a decent effort; should be a threat here. (3) RUSTYS BETT moves inside tonight and he can improve enough to take a small share. Race 10: Claiming $20,000 for NW $62,500 LT (10) TACTICAL SEELSTER dropped to this level and jogged as expected and now he draws widest, which should keep his price viable; call to repeat. (7) STREET ART beat the choice on 3/21 then missed some time. He should be a threat right back regardless; using. (5) BETTORHOLDONTIGHT is always flying late for J Mac it seems and he is hard to leave off late multi-race tickets. (2) KYLES ART was 2nd to the choice last week but he was no match. I’ll use him underneath here. (8) TWO FOR TRIPPING rarely misses a check. He is a good one to use on the bottom.
