He seems good enough to make the transition to nw2 in here and I’ll give him the nod to double up. (5) ROYAL BELUGA made a bobble behind the gate in his latest from pp9 but recovered nicely to finish a solid 4th. He draws better and should be among the main contenders if he can get away cleanly and stay to task. (4) MR BALLYKEEL added trotting hopples in his most recent try and was able to stay on task, as he was able to score easily despite being first-over. He loses JMac to another rival but picks up Louis-Philippe Roy and can take another step forward here. (7) ZORGWIJK VENTURA rallied nicely to be a strong second in his first attempt in this class and he is one that you should monitor in a wide open race to kick off this Thursday night card. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (FM 2) (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $8,500 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (3) MR JAZZ MAN was a solid second in his latest and has been knocking on the door over his last few starts. He finally draws inside and should have every opportunity to notch his first career victory. (2) MONI ALL DAY picked up her first win a few starts back and is allowed to enter this class by virtue of the purse she won for. She has more wins than the field combined and has that edge over her rivals. (1) NATALLYA will make her second start of her career tonight. This 4YO mare was able to slide up the inside during her most recent qualifying prep under a couple of reminders from driver Tyler Borth. She picks up JMac tonight and is one I’d like to monitor in this contest. (6) TACTICALLYSPEAKING has a pair of 4th place finishes to kick off her sophomore campaign and is one that can hit the ticket once again. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3 :CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $36,750 (OS $44,250) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. AE: NW $1,550 LAST 5 STARTS. (6) JUST ASK JOE stepped up in class against a tougher group of claimers after a dominant score at London in his start prior. He was second best to the overwhelming choice and should prove stronger this evening after a solid, acclimating mile at the big track. (1) HES STILL WATCHING was second at this level last time out and should be able to work out a favorable trip from the pole-position in this field of seven. (3) ALWAYS B MELMAN left out for early positioning and tried to gain positioning up the inside but lacked room to do so. He draws further inside and should have every chance to work out a good trip. (2) ALLSTAR PLAYBOY was never a factor in his most recent try in a Pop-up Series Final; he draws inside and can be more of a factor here with the right trip. Race 4: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $50,000 (OS $62,500) LIFETIME. **$7,730 PICK 6 CARRYOVER** (2) FOX VALLEY TATUM exits the Blizzard Series vs. tougher company and will now find herself in a much softer spot here this evening. She draws inside and merits a lot of respect in this spot. (7) BIG GIRL DREAMS ships in from London after making a three-wide move on the final turn but flattened out. This will be her third start since coming off a layoff and will pick up the services of Doug McNair for the first time this evening. The mare could be in for a wake-up call. (1) ALLSMOKEANDMIRRORS is coming off a couple of lackluster efforts and takes a drop into a pretty cozy spot this evening. She should be the one to beat here. (3) VENDETTA BLUE CHIP got towed into contention and flattened halfway down the lane when pacing towards the wire. She can get a big piece with the right trip and should have every opportunity to hit the ticket. Race 5: CLAIMING $8,000 FOR NW $5,000 LAST 5 STARTS. (10) BET NINTEEN is coming off a 3rd-place qualifying effort after a pair of very underwhelming tries at Mohawk in his two starts prior. He looked much better in that prep (while taking on tougher rivals) and got the vote of confidence from driver Louis-Philippe Roy here this evening, who had his choice of two others in here as well. (6) TUF COOPER is coming off a 3rd-place effort in his latest. He draws well but is a bit camera shy, so I’ll give him the nod for a share this evening. (7) SAVOIR DUHARAS was an upset winner at this level two starts back at 37/1. He draws a little outside but has enough gate speed to get a good spot off the car; can hit the ticket. (9) GIDDY UP MAX has been closing well for shares over his last few tries but that’s probably the best he can do here this evening given where he draws in this race. Race 6: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (FM 2) (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $8,500 LIFETIME. (5) COVETED STYLE drops out of nw2 and is back in a maiden class where she was victorious in her career debut. She draws well and has experience crossing the wire first, something this group has not done yet so far. (3) SOUTHWIND DANI exits tries at Flamboro Downs and will step foot on the big track for the first time in a pari-mutuel start. The change of scenery might do her some good. (4) HIGH HIGH HOPES was looked in the eye in her most recent qualifier and fended off a rival gamely. She draws well and could be confident off that prep. (6) HOBNOB HANOVER has been no worse than 4th over her last four tries and is definitely a contender in arguably the most wide-open race on the card. Race 7: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING HANDICAP $8,000 TO $11,000. (9) WIFEY SAID SO has won three straight at this level and has looked better in each of those tries. She’s tough to side against right now. (7) GIMME A CORONA was claimed out of this class two starts back after a 2nd place effort to the one above and tried her hand vs. tougher company. She finds herself back at this claiming class and should pose as our top choice’s biggest threat. (5) TAMARA HANOVER was a distant 2nd to our top choice in her latest. She draws well here and can get a big piece once again. (8) LADYSMITH closed well to be 4th in her most recent try and should have every chance to round out the superfecta as well. Race 8: CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $36,750 (OS $44,250) LIFETIME. (2) JOHNSTOWN JET scored convincingly in his most recent try and takes on similar company this evening; he gets top billing to repeat. (3) ARAGONITE was aggressively handled in his first start off a winning qualifier and got picked off by the one above in a 3rd-place effort. He draws better this evening and should have to work less to secure a good spot early; using. (4) ACEFORTYFOURY ZEUS was moving well amongst rivals in his most recent try in a 4th-place effort. He can hit the ticket here again. (6) FLYING FOR TREV ships in from London off a 3rd place effort. He draws well here and picks up the services of JMac and can land somewhere on the ticket. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $65,250 LIFETIME. (6) CRUISE HANOVER is coming off a nice win at Flamboro when he tipped three-wide while being stuck behind a rival and continued to pace hard towards the wire in a winning effort. He was sneaky good at this level two starts back on the big track and I'll take a shot here as a flier. (5) HEAVE AWAY was claimed at this level two starts back off a nice win and tried his hand against tougher company in his latest. He didn’t fare too well and should appreciate the company he keeps a lot more tonight. (1)  D A MAGIC MIKE took some time to straighten out in the lane but was able to get up for the score when he did. He will take support in this spot and merits respect. (3) HESTONATOR will pick up the services of Jody Jamieson this evening and is one that is proven to be competitive in this class. Race 10: CLAIMING HANDICAP $8,000 TO $11,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (5) BRING YOUR FIRE was aggressively handled in his latest when he floated out for an early position but stayed in and took a shuffle. He showed live legs late in the mile and is one I’m willing to go back to this evening; best bet. (6) DAY TRADER was classified in a better spot in his latest and was confidently handled in a victory. He draws well and we’ll likely see another aggressive approach here, especially from pp6. (4) KEYSTONE TENACIOUS has been no worse than 3rd over his last four starts and is one that will always be right in the thick of things at this level. (3) QUAN BLUE CHIP hasn’t been much of a factor in his last two tries, but should be able to land somewhere on the ticket with an inside draw. (7) VICIOUS ALOICIOUS was claimed out of her most recent try at London and will now race for Michelle Olson. She adds Lasix on this guy and he is one to monitor.
