(7) MAINTENANCE MAN dropped and popped, and he looked good doing it. He gets the call to repeat coming back at the same level tonight. (4) KEEPAMERICAGREAT took a new life’s mark here in a Pop Up race on 12/19 and then broke when facing tougher. He is capable if he brings his best race tonight. (5) MACH SILVER brought his typical strong effort last week, but he was no match for the choice late. He should be part of the exotics again. (2) HERVEY HANOVER raced okay to finish 3rd last time. He should get another share here.

Race 2: POP UP SERIES: CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $40,000 (OS $50,000) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. LEG 2. AE: LEG 1 STARTERS

(4) ALLSTAR PLAYBOY got Macdonald in the bike and jogged in leg 1 and he looks solid to repeat. (5) SPORTY BEE tried for the front and got hung out facing handicap claimers. Tonight, he has a much better chance of making the lead early and that gives him a shot. He is the other one that I’ll use in the Pick 5. (3) OUTRAGEOUS SHOW closed well from the back to finish 2nd to the choice and he will likely close for another slice tonight. (7) CENTURY JAZZ got a good trip and a clear shot from the head of the lane to the wire, and he lost a position. A small share is likely his ceiling in here.

Race 3: POP UP SERIES: CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $40,000 (OS $50,000) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. LEG 2. AE: LEG 1 STARTERS

(4) DM SNAKEPLISSKEN is capable vs. these types when he is on his game, and I’ll take a price stab with him moving into the Fellows barn for this start. (7) CHEDDAR DUHARAS won the race for show last week in a race where the top two broke away from the rest of the field. He is in easier tonight, and he is in with a shot vs. these. (2) LA BARBE raced okay first-up last week. He can be right there with these if he gets a decent trip; using. (1) ALWAYS B MELMAN is the morning line choice coming off a break in stride and I prefer to use him on the bottom starting from the rail tonight.

Race 4: CLAIMING $8,000 FOR NW $5,000 LAST 5 STARTS Pick 6

(4) BETTORHOLDONTIGHT drops to face much easier here and he gets the leading driver back. I’ll give him the nod over another dropper, (9) BAYLOR BOBBY, who should get put into the race earlier tonight. (2) MACH JACOBS is another that drops and he gets the potent first-time McNair angle, but he won only once in 38 starts last year, so I wouldn’t take a short price in this spot. (1) CHOREOGRAPHER is capable of a big speed try and he is another possibility for multi-race tickets.

Race 5: POP UP SERIES FINAL: FILLIES & MARES NW $30,000 IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS). AE: NOT AVERAGING $1,500 PER START IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS)

(9) CHARMBO STORMY shoots for a sixth straight win here and her versatility makes her the one to beat; top call. (7) FATED FIRE turned her form around in this series with Macdonald driving and she could win racing from the pocket tonight; using. (8) REDLANDBETHANYJEAN was a closing 2nd to the choice in Leg 1 and then she came back and won last week. She is another threat in a good betting race. (6) CHOCOLATEFORLUNCH woke up with a better effort last week and she can close for a slice here, too.

Race 6: POP UP SERIES: CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $40,000 (OS $50,000) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. LEG 2. AE: LEG 1 STARTERS Pick 5

(3) D A MAGIC MIKE couldn’t get to the leader last week on a very windy night, but he was 11 lengths clear of the next horse at the wire. With the winner of that race gone, this one gets top billing here. (4) BALLYKEEL PAINTER brought good form in from London last week and then paced a strong back 1/2 to get the job done. He is the obvious threat. (8) BRINGITONHOMETOME had no shot starting from post 9 in a 12-horse field on 12/26. He gets McNair now and he is worth a look for the exotics. (2) JIMMY WHISPERS closed for a share off a following trip last week and he will likely be part of the Tri or Super again.

Race 7: POP UP SERIES: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $40,000 (OS $50,000) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. LEG 2. AE: LEG 1 STARTERS Pick 4

(2) LILLY CLARE made a nice late move last week, but the pocket sitter had already made a decisive winning move. I’ll take a price stab with this mare who faces some rivals that could be vulnerable. (6) VENDETTA BLUE CHIP is in great form, but she has been off three weeks. I’d be careful to not take too short of a price here. (4) FANCY LETTERING raced okay when claimed and she should be in the exotics mix again. (9) RAFFLE WINNER drops in for a tag, but she is still a one-time winner. I’ll use her underneath.

Race 8: POP UP SERIES CONSOLATION: FILLIES & MARES NW $30,000 IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS). AE: NOT AVERAGING $1,500 PER START IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS)

(6) BETTER BE DONNA N draws best and gets Macdonald for this Pop Up consolation and she will likely turn her form around tonight; top call. (4) BIG DIAMOND should be the main threat racing on or near the lead, and she is the other one that I’ll use on multi-race tickets. (1) PAM will likely get a good start from the rail, sit a trip, and get a share. (7) CORA CORA CORA probably sits and rallies this week. I see her closing late to land in the bottom of the exotics.

(5) P L RINCHENIA was aggressively driven last week, and she rewarded her driver with a winning effort. Off that sharp performance, she gets the call to repeat. (2) SAULSBROOK FEISTY figures to improve with the drop into a claimer tonight; Exacta factor. (9) SAULSBROOK ANNIE was no match for the winner last week and she will likely suffer a similar fate tonight starting from the widest post. (8) SWEET CRAVINGS closed from the back to take a share last week and she can do the same here.

Race 10: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING HANDICAP $8,000 TO $11,000

(7) GOLDEN LEADER is on a roll, and she gets Henry in the bike now racing off the Barrington claim. She should prove hard to beat. (6) WIFEY SAID SO closed from last and was moving fastest at the wire when 4th to the choice last week. She is worth a price look for late multi-race tickets. (9) FEARLESS SHELIA finished behind the choice last week and more of the same is likely coming for her tonight. (4) DEL DIGGITY is one of the hardest triers you’ll find in this province, but I prefer to use her underneath. (10) MY ONLY SUNSHINE closed well for 3rd behind the choice, but she draws worst now. A small share is likely her ceiling in this spot.
