(9) GAINES HANOVER tried a second move against tougher trotters last week. I think he gets unleashed from another outside draw. (1) AMIGO VOLO tried his luck with an outside move against Open types. That certainly wasn’t going to work with how good they are at the moment. He fits much better here. (3) SID THE KID adds Lasix after a lackluster month. I’ll need to see one from him but I think he can rebound tonight.

Race 2: NW $9,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $18,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $60,000. AE: NW $41,000 IN 2026. AE: OS 3 YO FILLIES.

(6) SAFE CONDUCT is fifth back now and gets a steep drop in class. This is his time. (4) NOTHINGBUTADREAMER wasn’t at his best last week but draws well again tonight and will look to rebound. Might need a little time off if he bounces again. (1) TE QUIERO LINDY gets a major post switch and should leave himself with more in the tank in the stretch.

Race 3: FILLIES & MARES CLAIMING $8,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE.

(7) HEAVENS LIL DRAGON continues to evade me after a perfect trip turned into her first win in a minute. I’ll look for her to repeat. (1) MEILLEUR FROMAGE was unable to get into the race last week from a wide post. Major post relief tonight is more than enough reason to look her way again. (8) THE DIVINE MISS M tends to favor early speed but doesn’t usually have the pop to make it stick.

Race 4: NW $6,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $12,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $40,000. AE: N/A $1,700 P/S IN 2026. AE: NW $110,000 IN 2025-2026 (MIN 15 STS).

I’ll get suckered into (7) WAYS N MEANS who is second back and stayed on nicely after getting to the outside. (2) MYFRIENDJOSE got a wake up when last seen at this level. I think he posts a quality mile tonight. (9) DISTANCE LEARNING hasn’t seen a front-end effort work as of late, but he should probably keep trying. Someone’s gotta wake up here.

Race 5: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $8,000 FOR NW $5,000 LAST 4 STARTS. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE.

(1) KEYSTONE DAKOTA was much better in his latest and could show that he’s turning a corner against a lackluster field. (7) ROYAL JK adds Lasix after a major clunker at Flamboro. When he can wait and zoom off a helmet late in the mile, he is dangerous. (5) WILLS WATCHIN should improve when returning to the bigger track, but I’m not sure it will be enough to earn him anything more than a piece.

Race 6: NW $6,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $12,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $40,000. AE: N/A $1,700 P/S IN 2026. AE: NW $110,000 IN 2025-2026 (MIN 15 STS).

(2) FOR JULY was excellent last week and should give this field a real run for its money if he can stay sound. (9) STABLE GENIUS finally found a group that was too much for him. He just won by five at this level two starts ago. (7) FAITH STEP nearly got up after a sharp final quarter put him right in the mix. That’s what we’re accustomed to seeing out of her.

Race 7: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, WINNERS OF 3 (FM 4) BUT NOT MORE THAN 6 OR $105,000) LIFETIME.

(3) SAPPHIRE STEVE has shown us he certainly knows where the wire is after two straight wins by a neck. He draws well again and should be right in the mix. (9) P L ROBERT G finds a slightly softer field tonight but will have to work out a trip from post nine. (1) BLACK BULLET ships to Mohawk after plenty of conditioned tries in PA. From watching him, he’ll need to show plenty more if he wants to contend against these.

Race 8: CLAIMING HANDICAP $10,000 TO $12,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE & SEX. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000.

(3) RYLENTLESS looks for his fifth in a row and gets a fair shot against 10 claimers. (7) TITANIC HANOVER was overmatched in a bottom level pace, but those go quick no matter where you are. He should slot back in nicely against claimers. (2) CAUGHTINALANDSLIDE was just okay in his latest but could have more punch off the claim.

Race 9: OPEN.

I understand that (3) DAME GOOD TIME might not get the most aggressive steer here given the presence of the top two, but he was so impressive in his latest that I have to give him a try regardless. (2) EMOTICON LEGACY took advantage of On To Norway making an early miscue in the Hill and absolutely romped. He returns to Mohawk and should make his presence felt again. (6) LOGAN PARK looks to repeat and gets the nod from McNair. He will likely look to be aggressively handled.

Race 10: NW $2,500 LAST 4 OR NW $6,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $25,000. AE: NW $16,500 OR N/A $1,215 P/S IN 2026 (MIN 10 STS). AE: N/A $1,100 P/S IN 2025-2026.

(7) PEMBERTON is third back now and picks up James Macdonald, but will now attract a lot of betting attention. (3) OH BOY gets a positive post switch after two quality efforts. His versatility makes him an obvious contender. (9) KADIDDLE should get away in better order tonight despite the wide draw. I think he can grind into contention.
