Best Bet: R PEAKY BLINDERS (Race 7)
Spot Play: LUVUTOTHEMOONANBAK (Race 1)
Early Pick-5: 3,9,10/4/1,2,6/2,5,8/9 $5.40
Late Pick-5: 3,5/1/2,8/1,5/3,7,8 $4.80
Race 1: NW $1,700 LAST 4 STARTS (W/O $12,000 LAST 8 STARTS N/E). AE: N/A $1,755 P/S IN 2025-2026 (MIN 10 STARTS).
(9) LUVUTOTHEMOONANBAK is third back now and had a parked-out trip in his latest. Look for Plante to fire again and secure a better spot. (3) SPARKS FLY grinded out a solid third in his latest. He can get into the race in a variety of ways. (10) I GOT THE LOOKS is an interesting new shooter from Batavia that has plenty of back class. Could add value if he gets into the race.

Race 2: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES: NW 1 RACE OR $10,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.
(4) SIMEA finds an overnight for the first time and likely tries to just overpower these. (5) SPEEDY MASS just missed last week in her best mile to date. I’ll look for her to be right there again tonight. (7) FLEETWOOD DANCER has been trotting decent miles but may not have the pop late if McNair points her forward.
Race 3: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, WINNERS OF 3 (FM 4) BUT NOT MORE THAN 5 (FM 6) OR $80,000 (OS $100,000) LIFETIME.
(2) ROYAL CAPTAIN got a great trip last week and capitalized in his third start back. I’ll give him the nod to repeat. (6) MIKE ME UP continued his winning ways against Grassroots foes. Post draw favors him. (1) DAFFY HANOVER finds a different bunch this week after consistently holding his own against classier trotters. Should be in the mix for a piece.
Race 4: POP UP SERIES: STARTERS FOR PURSE OF $13,000 OR LESS L4 STARTS (WO $50,000 IN 2026 NE). AE: NA $2,200 PS IN 2026 (MIN 10 STARTS) LEG 2. MAY BE RACED SAT/SUN
(8) CAPTAIN HURLEY got lucky that a lane materialized, but once it did, he exploded through with pace between horses. He should put himself in a much better spot this week. (2) JK BLACK GOLD was a touch flat after a grinding move but that was a fair result after nearly a month off. McNair could try him near the front. (5) SNACK ATTACK’s race was done after 20 steps but he closed decently to nearly get a piece. I’ll use him underneath this week.
Race 5: NW $9,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $22,500 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. AE: NW $35,000 IN 2025-26.
(9) FASHION FRENZIE drops from the Open and likely tries to trot these off their feet. (1) MYFRIENDJOSE gets a big post switch and should have a chance to get a big piece with his typical grinding move. (3) GRIFF is another who can be relied on to sustain a midrace move and did so last week against a class higher than this.
Race 6: POP UP SERIES: STARTERS FOR PURSE OF $13,000 OR LESS L4 STARTS (WO $50,000 IN 2026 NE). AE: NA $2,200 PS IN 2026 (MIN 10 STARTS) LEG 2. MAY BE RACED SAT/SUN
(5) P L OLIVER tripped out and produced a nice win in his division of leg one. Same draw should produce similar tactics. (3) ELLIOT MOOSE drew away from rivals in just his third start back. Hard to overlook an effort like that. (7) LEGION SEELSTER likely has the lowest win percentage when it comes to classiest horses on the grounds, but he tries hard most weeks and can get a piece.
Race 7: NW $6,250 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $21,750 LAST 8 STARTS (W/O $15,000 LAST 8 STARTS N/E) AE: OPT. CLM. $30,000. AE: NW $55,000 IN 2026 (MIN 15 STARTS).
(1) R PEAKY BLINDERS had to settle for a check after trying to make two moves from post ten. Roy sticks and likely gets him a much better trip. (2) SOUTHWIND DOMINO comes out of the same race and also got a check. His miles have been consistent since returning, and he likely goes off a big price. (8) STABLE GENIUS looked like himself last week, but will he be able to repeat it against tougher company? Right now it’s tied 1-1 in that category since he’s returned.
Race 8: NW $33,000 LAST 4 STARTS.
(8) MAJOR VELOCITY, like the rest of the field, was never catching Dame Good Time but he posted another strong mile off cover. I’ll give him the nod. (2) AMIGO VOLO cruised at the shortest of prices last week. He’ll need to bring that level of mile again tonight. (1) SAFE CONDUCT returns after five months off. His qualifiers didn’t tell us anything new, but I don’t expect him to be fully torqued in his first start back.

Race 9: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD LEG 4: 3 YEAR OLD PACING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $900 CDN ($700 USD).
(1) REDLAND ROCKET MAN raced huge in the Milstein and likely wins if Melillo doesn’t get an inside lane as early as he did. Let’s see if he can continue his fine form. (5) BORDERLINE MOBBY didn’t disgrace himself in the Milstein either given he was parked for the mile. He lasted a long time grinding on the outside. He has been more consistent throughout the year. (3) BEAU JANGLES once again wasn’t bad when he raced in the Hempt, but he wasn’t great either. He finds himself with another new pilot still looking for answers.
Race 10: POP UP SERIES: STARTERS FOR PURSE OF $13,000 OR LESS L4 STARTS (WO $50,000 IN 2026 NE). AE: NA $2,200 PS IN 2026 (MIN 10 STARTS) LEG 2. MAY BE RACED SAT/SUN
(8) FRANCO SANTANA N went down the road in his division last week and likely looks to do the same again. (7) DOWS UP recovered decently after an early miscue to finish less than five lengths behind. I’ll try him again to get a big piece. (3) DAD used early speed to secure position and raced well in leg one. Decent post draw tonight.
