Best Bet: SILK LACE (Race 1)
Spot Play: TH BENEDICT (Race 8)
Early Pick-5: 1/1,6/4,5/6,9/3,4,8 $4.80
Late Pick-5: 6,9/3,8/8/1,6/3,9 $3.20
Race 1: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 3. 2 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).
(1) SILK LACE fits much better at the Grassroots level and will likely quarter move to get position. I’ll count on her sustaining her bid from there. (7) ACEANDATEN makes her first appearance at this level. Her early turn of foot can carry her a long way. I thought (6) GLAM ROCK posted a solid outing on debut but will need to step forward to catch the top two in my opinion.

Race 2: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES: NW 1 RACE OR $12,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.
(1) TIT FOR TAT was a fast-closing second in her latest, once again displaying the solid turn of foot she has. She’ll need to navigate the rail, though. (6) CORAL CLIFF put forth a much better effort stateside and only lost by a head to an okay looking Smedshammer mare. If the progression continues, she’ll be right there. (4) DEWENITFORTHEMONI failed to get around the Ohio circuits with any luck but we’ve seen what she can manage around the Mohawk oval, if she stays flat.
Race 3: FILLIES & MARES, NW $2,500 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $5,250 LAST 6 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. AE: NW $22,000 IN 2026.
I’ll count on (5) CANT SEE ME getting an aggressive steer and potentially tripping out. This is easier compared to the two groups she faced last month at the level. (4) CHARMBO STORMY raced great after making an uncovered bid in her latest. A similar move could wear down the leaders. (7) WICKEDPACE received an inside lane but couldn’t take advantage of it. She’s likely blasting to the lead, but I’m not sure she can hold on.
Race 4: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 3. 2 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).
(9) LYONS BULLDOG got right back to winning form last week and should be able to carry her speed a long way against this group. (6) TWIN B GIRL TALK has been out of position against fillies that have a similar turn of foot to her. The task should be easier against this field. (7) BULLDOG BELLE just missed in her latest but is continuing to progress and should be in the mix again.
Race 5: NW $6,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $12,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $30,000. AE: N/A $2,310 P/S IN 2026. AE: STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $15,500 LAST 5 STS.
(8) RIGHT HERE HANOVER nearly won from post ten in his latest but couldn’t hold off the momentum that Willowtime had. Another forward trip gives him a chance. (4) ROYAL BELUGA has produced some very good miles at Mohawk in the not-so-distant past and I thought his mile two back was pretty good against tougher horses. (3) DAFFY HANOVER is in pretty good form right now but will need to be spotted accordingly to make her turn of foot show up.
Race 6: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 3. 2 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).
(6) DEL RAY SEELSTER paced a big final half on debut and appears to have more in the tank. (9) EFFECTIVE CONTROL raced well against heavy favorite Waves Of Fortune and should be forwardly placed here. (1) RHYMES WITH REGINA has been overmatched since her debut win but should fare much better against these types if she can produce that stretch kick.
Race 7: POP UP SERIES CONSOLATION: H&G STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $10,000 OR LESS LAST 3 STARTS (WO $40,000 IN 2026 NE). AE:NA $1,450 PS IN 2026 (MIN 10 STARTS). 11-20
I’ll try (3) SCAMMER one more time with the hope that these horses won’t be able to sustain their speed as much. His price should be okay. (8) BEACH TOUR speed try incoming? It could certainly help him get back to form rather than flat grinding tries. (10) CONVOY TWENTY TWO draws wide but can get into the race in a variety of ways. I like his chances of grinding into contention more than others.
Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD LEG 3: 2 YEAR OLD PACING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $900 CDN ($700 USD).
(8) TH BENEDICT has displayed a sharp turn of foot and could benefit from a quick pace set by others. (7) GOGO GADGET was placed the winner in the Battle Of Waterloo which maintained his perfect record. He should no doubt be involved early. (1) ATLAS ROSS is another looking to stay unbeaten after a solid qualifier to keep him tight. He has proven himself multiple times.

Race 9: NW $29,000 LAST 4 STARTS.
(1) WHAT ABOUT ELMO is in top form right now and just grinded out a strong second place finish over the sloppy going. I’ll give him the nod. (6) OSCEOLA was parked for the mile in his latest. Pitch that line. I think he’ll be forwardly placed in this shorter field. (4) EUROBANK HANOVER gets along much better with McClure and should be able to grind for at least a piece.
Race 10: POP UP SERIES FINAL: H&G STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $10,000 OR LESS LAST 3 STARTS (W/O $40,000 IN 2026 N/E). AE:N/A $1,450 P/S IN 2026 (MIN 10 STARTS).
(9) D A LETS BOOGIE just paced a career best mile and was under a tight hold by McClure after realizing no threats were coming. Hard to overlook an effort like that. (3) UP JOEYS CREDIT has been sustaining his outside moves and could wind up getting a big piece if the race falls apart. (8) BOOTHILL HUDY was lethal in his latest and will be another part of the early pace mix. Yet another contender in a good race.
