Late Pick-5: 1,3,8/5/3,6,8/2/1,2,6 $5.40

(4) SEISMIC STEP has progressed nicely since returning and draws well again. He should be forwardly placed and in a spot to trip out. (7) STROBE LITE adds Lasix after a career-best Gold win. I’m not sure how much of a hurry J-Mac will be in, though. (5) DREAM FOR PEACE was a good third in that same race and might be forwardly placed as well. I can see him getting a piece.

Race 2: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD LEG 1. 2 YEAR OLD TROTTING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $900 CDN ($700 USD).
(3) TWIN B KINGSLEY made a delayed move to the front on debut but was in hand from there. I’ll give her the nod in the first Gold for the freshman. (1) COLD BREEZE edged away from her competition after getting to the outside. She looks like a filly that should continue progressing. (2) QUEEN OF BS was a good second on debut in what may have been a tougher race. She is progressing well and should be in the mix.
Race 3: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 1. 2 YEAR OLD PACING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).
(2) CALLSIGN MAVERICK was making a big move towards the front in his debut but rolled off stride. You could tell of his quirks just by watching how he got off the car, but there’s plenty of ability there. (9) CATTLETRACKS made multiple moves in his second qualifier but got steppy around the final turn. He may not be handled as aggressively given the post. (4) ATLAS ROSS was a winner in his debut and paced a big back half. If he continues to progress tonight, he should be in the mix.
Race 4: POP UP SERIES: STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $12,000 OR LESS IN LAST 4 STARTS. (WO $50,000 IN 2026 NE). AE: N/A $2,000 P/S IN 2025-26. LEG 2. AE: LEG 1 STARTERS.
(6) ROXIE HART was the beneficiary of a slow middle half which allowed her to ease into the race before showing her usual kick. Still, this is the best we’ve seen her in a while. (3) RICKY RESOLVE was best of the rest in his division but didn’t appear to lose any form after the miscue two starts ago. (1) MY HOLY MOLEY was following Roxie Hart and wound up a good second. I can see him getting a similar trip and result.
Race 5: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 1. 2 YEAR OLD PACING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).
(8) THE BIG DADDY picked off the aforementioned Cattletracks with a good final quarter. I think he will continue to move forward. (3) UNTOLD STORY tracked for the entirety of his second qualifier and shaved several seconds. I like that he has gone two different trips in as many preps. (6) C SCRIPT was able to get to the outside and swooped over the top to pull off the slight upset on debut. I’m not sure how deep he is, but he has a race under his belt.
Race 6: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD LEG 1. 2 YEAR OLD TROTTING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $900 CDN ($700 USD).
(1) OUTLAST looks ready to roll after a single winning qualifier. She drew into the weakest of tonight’s Gold legs in my opinion, which helps. (3) TREASURE KING got tracked down on debut but showed decent speed on both ends of the mile. Hard to imagine she isn’t in the mix. (8) FLAWLESS LADY looks like she has some ability but has to navigate the outside post in her debut. We’ll see how aggressively she is handled.
Race 7: POP UP SERIES: STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $12,000 OR LESS IN LAST 4 STARTS. (WO $50,000 IN 2026 NE). AE: N/A $2,000 P/S IN 2025-26. LEG 2. AE: LEG 1 STARTERS.
(5) NOTHINGBUTADREAMER dominated in leg one and continued to open up his advantage all the way to the wire. He is in top form right now. (7) KADIDDLE got to the lead and couldn’t be caught in her division. I can see another forward trip working in her favor tonight. (3) TYMAL RIGGS is such a consistent sort who does his work every week. Definitely a horse that many would love to own. He could get the job done with the right trip.
Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 1. 2 YEAR OLD PACING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).
(3) IM IN COMMAND opened up at will against his rivals in his second morning prep. If he continues to progress, he should be right there in tonight’s debut. (8) YANKEE SCOUT wasn’t anything special on debut but he has enough speed on both ends to make you think of him as a threat to trip out. (6) YES I AM HANOVER shouldn’t be discarded after his debut because he ran into a quick field. Tonight should be more to his liking.
Race 9: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD LEG 1. 2 YEAR OLD TROTTING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $900 CDN ($700 USD).
(2) REBEL MOON comes out of the same Grand Manalishi race which I mentioned was probably tougher than others that weekend. She will need to get away slightly closer to contend for the win in my opinion. (3) R ROSIE couldn’t catch (1) SELECTIVELY SWEET in their first battle, but the latter might be forced to make an early move if she wants the front. I’ll look for the former to at least beat her.

Race 10: POP UP SERIES: STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $12,000 OR LESS IN LAST 4 STARTS. (WO $50,000 IN 2026 NE). AE: N/A $2,000 P/S IN 2025-26. LEG 2. AE: LEG 1 STARTERS.
(1) ROYAL BELUGA got a nice tow into the action and was aided even more when the favorite faltered on the lead. He is sharp right now. (2) JAYPORT CASH was first over in that race and I thought battled well to hold third. He will likely be looking for a helmet this week. (6) ESPLOSIONE was scratched for leg one but posted a recent sharp win at Grand River. A similar forward trip could see him take this field a long way.
Race 11: POP UP SERIES: STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $12,000 OR LESS IN LAST 4 STARTS. (WO $50,000 IN 2026 NE). AE: N/A $2,000 P/S IN 2025-26. LEG 2. AE: LEG 1 STARTERS.
(7) ZETTE ATHENA somehow didn’t get by Kadiddle last week but raced well. I’ll try her again. (8) MY BUDDY SAM found room up the inside to finish second in his division. He is better when racing from up close. (4) PESO HANOVER was a good third from off the pace in his second start back. A similar trip could see him pass horses late and land on the ticket.
