Top Pick Stats: 260/833 (-$349.90) Best Bets: 31/76 (-$24.90); Spot Plays: 18/78 (-$52.90) Best Bet: PREMIER FIRST STAR (Race 4) Value Play: CRYSTAL BALLER (Race 10) Early Pick-5: 2/3,6,8/5,6/2/4,7,9   $2.40 Late Pick-5: 1,3,9/5,8/1,2/7/4,7   $4.80 Race 1: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, WINNERS OF 3 (FM 4) BUT NOT MORE THAN 5 (FM 6) OR $80,000 (OS $100,000) LIFETIME. (2) UNGAWA can be forgiven for his latest because of a poor draw against some classy horses. He gets a major post switch for his return to a class he just won at. (3) YOU GOT IT KEMP jumped it off in his return after a year and a half off and wound up a parimutuel refund. I’ll try him again this week. (4) BINGO NIGHT makes her return in a tough spot, but should step forward after a pair of sharp qualifiers. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: CLAIMING HANDICAP $12,000 TO $16,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE & SEX. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000. (6) FOREFATHER kicked huge in his latest and put forth another strong effort with J-Mac in the bike. He knows this closer extremely well; I’ll give him the nod tonight. (8) CODE CRACKER had been on and off in recent weeks but should be given every chance with a forward trip. We’ll see if he shows up. (3) GLORYVIEW IMAGE steps back up to this class after some sharp efforts at the lower level. Post relief should give him a good chance tonight. Race 3: NW $2,500 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $5,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. AE: MARES N/A $1,330 P/S L8. AE: NW $100 IN 2026. (5) DAFFY HANOVER gets a drop after holding her own against some much tougher rivals. She draws perfectly for another leave attempt. (6) PHOENIX should improve second back and could be handled a bit more aggressively tonight, especially against this field. (3) BANK ON LUCAS fared much better at this level three back and has the kick to pick off some tired foes for a piece. Race 4: NW $1,000 LAST 4 STARTS (W/O $8,750 LAST 8 STARTS N/E). AE: N/A $1140 P/S IN 2025-26. (2) PREMIER FIRST STAR was better with Lasix and now gets a big drop in class. He should be driven like he’s best, and will hopefully perform as such. (7) CRAZY WORLD gets upgraded when J-Mac hops in the bike. He has been decent from off the pace but a forward trip would give him a better chance. (1) LOTTO MAX returns after just one qualifier but sprinted well there and could work out a midpack trip where he doesn’t have to do much work. Race 5: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $8,000 FOR NW $5,500 LAST 4 STARTS. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (7) SMOKESTACK is second back off the claim for the Cullen barn and should be placed better off the car. A live helmet makes him very dangerous. (9) ARAGONITE is second back after a good return. Louis Roy picks up a live catch drive with the right trip. (4) ROYAL JK is sharp right now but will have to make his middle move stick on the bigger track. He has a much better chance of doing so with the leading driver. Race 6: FILLIES & MARES CLAIMING $8,000 FOR NW $7,000 LAST 4 STARTS. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (3) CATCHMEGRACEFULLY comes off a good win at Flamboro and shouldn’t have any trouble securing a good trip tonight. She has been an ‘every other’ type, but I’ll look for her to break that trend. (1) D A TEMPTATION has been decent since returning and had nowhere to go in her latest. A better trip could see Mark Mac pull another upset. (9) ALLSTAR WILLOW didn’t appear to have any serious injury concerns considering she is back in a week. Her fate might be determined in the first 20 strides, but has shown plenty of gate speed in the past. Race 7: CLAIMING HANDICAP $18,000 TO $24,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE & SEX. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000. (8) STICKEMINLETHIMGO went a big first over trip in his latest and grinded down the leaders to get the job done. He is sharp right now; I’ll give him the nod to repeat. (5) MAKEMEALEGEND has stepped up with big efforts in the past and has the versatility to get into the exotics with any trip. (6) CANT STOP LOU should be doing better at this level, but has had tough trips more often than not. McClure could be pressing the pedal off the car. Race 8: NW $9,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $23,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: N/A $2,210 P/S IN 2025-26. AE: NW $100 IN 2026 (MIN 3 STARTS). (1) WHAT ABOUT ELMO should have a big chance third back after two tighteners. He lays over this field when he is right. (2) MASSTERCRAFT also gets a big drop and has the gate speed to get himself a stalking trip. (6) PERFETTO needed last week’s start after being off for a month. He could show gate speed this week which would likely give him his best chance. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: NW $2,500 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $9,500 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: N/A $1,660 P/S IN 2025-2026. (7) MIRACULOUS DESBI N really should lay over this group but has some spotty recent starts that don’t quite make him a lock on paper. That said, if Plante just tries to bottom them out, he probably can fairly easily. (5) MCWICKED TIME could be chasing from the pocket if gate speed is used. It helped him at Flamboro, so why not here? (3) TRICKY MCWICKY is a consistent type that has versatility. I can see him closing for a piece tonight. Race 10: NW $6,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $14,500 LAST 8 STARTS (W/O $18,500 LAST 8 STARTS N/E) AE: OPT. CLM. $30,000. AE: N/A $2,010 P/S IN 2025-26. (7) CRYSTAL BALLER was looming at a price in his latest but was late pulled on by the pocket horse. It may have shut his air off when Thiessen had to stop his momentum, because he went nowhere after that. I’ll try him at a price. (4) TACTICAL STRIKE was apparently better in the fog, although you couldn’t see anything. She didn’t end up in the nine path last week, which is a plus. She should make a good account of herself yet again. (1) JGS PAL is a grinder that can make multiple moves sometimes. He is a type that can easily be put in play for a piece.
