Top Pick Stats: 233/747 (-$312.10) Best Bets: 28/68 (-$24.20); Spot Plays: 17/70 (-$43.20) Best Bet: PENNTELLER HANOVER (Race 7) Value Play: PESO HANOVER (Race 5) Early Pick-5: 3,6,9/1,8/4,6/2,7/2,8   $9.60 Late Pick-5: 2,8,10/7/4,7/2/2,4   $2.40 Race 1: NW $1,700 LAST 4 STARTS. AE: N/A $1,000 P/S IN 2025-2026 (MIN 10 STARTS).  AE: NW $2,150 LAST 6 STARTS. (3) DJIMON spoiled his second start back with an early miscue, but almost got a check anyway. I’ll go back to him tonight hoping he can mind his manners. (9) MY WAY gets a drop in class but is likely to be racing from the back. His kick can allow him to pass more horses at this level. (6) DAFFY HANOVER gets away from conditioned types and should use his gate speed from one of Mohawk’s winningest posts. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: CLAIMING HANDICAP $30,000 TO $40,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE & SEX. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000. (1) PONDER NO LONGER has produced two good miles off the claim and has taken air on the outside in both. He could be the value of the race if he gets the right trip. (8) SOMETIME SOMEWHERE saw the rail open up for him last week and took advantage. I would expect him to try and be forwardly placed again. (9) JJ XAVIER came up short as the odds on favorite in the same race. He might try off the pace tactics this week, which has worked well for him in the past. Race 3: NW $2,700 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $5,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. AE: N/A $1,230 P/S IN 2026. (4) SHEAMANALISHI raced well to stay on for third after racing on the outside. She lost her cover when Bella Cavalla cleared, but didn’t falter in the stretch. She has been racing well enough. A win will come soon. (6) MISTER MAGIC showed more punch last week but ended up with a perfect trip. Still, he continues to use gate speed week after week and get himself into winning spots. (5) JGS PAL took plenty of support last week but was another who spoiled any chance with an early miscue. I would expect a little more conservative trip tonight. Race 4: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $8,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (2) BLAST OF SUNSHINE has gotten better with each start since returning. He made multiple moves in a race that fell apart last week and was still making up ground at the wire. I’ll look for him to score this week. (7) TROPICAL DRAGON found his best stride late in what was his first start of the year. I struggle to place these types sometimes, because if he’s double-digit lengths back again, will he be able to make up that ground? His price should be right to use in exotics. I’d say (3) EARLY PLAY has overstayed his welcome at the top of my picks, which means he will probably win this week. If he used gate speed more consistently, I could trust him more. Race 5: NW $6,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $12,500 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $30,000. AE: NW $22,500 OR N/A $2,180 P/S IN 2026 (MIN 8 STS). AE: NW OF A RACE LAST 10. (8) PESO HANOVER is worth a bet back in my opinion. He was 3-1 off the claim, but took a shuffle down the backstretch. He showed enough late interest to where I’ll give him a shot; He just needs to be involved in the early stages. (2) CHIC CHOC ROSE provided a sharp winning rally once she moved off of, admittedly, stalling cover. I think Cullen can give her a similar type of trip, which should have her in contention. (7) ALL GAS NO BRAKES is a reliable early speed type who is getting closer to a win right now. I will once again use him on tickets tonight. Race 6: CLAIMING HANDICAP $12,000 TO $16,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE & SEX. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000. (10) PHONE NINE ONE ONE pulled off the upset last week after a sustained first-over move. He showed that much staying power in just his second start back; I’ll give him the nod to overcome the high draw. (2) TITANIC HANOVER has been hit and miss at times this year, but his two starts off the most recent claim appear to have him in more consistent form. (8) BAYFIELD BEACH was unable to make a sustained second move at Western Fair, though he had to work from the second tier that night. His game is early speed and getting himself a stalking trip from up close. Race 7: NW $20,750 LAST 4 STARTS. AE: NW 8 RACES OR $150,000 LIFETIME. AE: OPT. CLM. $100,000. (7) PENNTELLER HANOVER was trip compromised against Open company last week, but still fired home as he has all season. He’ll be my Best Bet of the evening when dropping a notch. (4) DEVILS ARCH should be motivated slightly more in the early stages this week because of recent trips. I expect Roy to potentially secure a pocket trip and a good finish. (1) PASSARINO has proven he can hang at upper levels and should at least be reliable for a check tonight. Race 8: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $37,500) LIFETIME. (7) DR DAVE is one I’ll go back to again after his strong second place finish in the Spring Series Final. I’m slightly concerned if he gets away towards the back, but I don’t think whoever is on the lead will have enough to hold him off. (4) PLANKTON HANOVER should get a long look tonight in what is his second start of the year. A cleaner trip, potentially on the lead, could see him go all the way. (5) WALK OF LIFE gets post relief after being unable to sprint with the top two finishers in his latest. His versatility makes him a logical contender to hit the ticket. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: OPEN. (2) LOGAN PARK got everything his own way in his first start back and easily cruised. They couldn’t catch him then, and they won’t catch him now. (1) USAIN HANOVER is back in top form and deserves a look to round out the exacta behind the big favorite. (5) OUTSIDE THE FIRE is another in good form after two straight wins. He has the kick to get onto the ticket and slightly improve exotics. Race 10: NW $1,000 LAST 4 STARTS. AE: N/A $1,175 P/S IN 2025-26 (MIN 10 STARTS). (2) AQUINAS HANOVER gets a steep drop in class and looks to get a confidence boosting win under his belt. I think he can capitalize against this group. (4) HES TOURING showed late interest in his lone qualifier, though I wouldn’t have minded seeing another one before getting back to action. Curious what trip he gets and how much support he takes. (10) SOUTHWIND SAMBUCCA was a good second after a stalking trip. He is likely to fire out from the high draw and look to hold on for a piece.
