Woodbine Mohawk Park: Analysis for Sunday 11/30

John Rallis|Nov 28, 2025
Mohawk Logo 1.5

Top Pick Stats: 216/621 = -$52.40

Best Bets: 15/58 = –$12.20; Spot Plays: 17/58 = +$4.60

Best Bet: VERTICAL SQUIRT (RACE 9)

Spot Play: GINGER TREE FINNY (RACE 3)

Early Pick 5: 1,2,7/1,5/3/1,4,5/2

Late Pick 5: 1,6/5/1,5,6,9/4/2,4,8

Race 1: NW $6,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $12,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $30,000.

(7) TOP MAST hasn’t been a factor over his last two tries but plummets in class here. He should really benefit from the company he keeps tonight and is our choice to kick off the card. (1) STEAMER was a distant 3rd behind a major class dropper who crushed its rivals. He draws inside and can be competitive. (2) TACTICAL STRIKE has raced well over her last two and had outside draws to work with in the process. She should benefit from an inside post this evening and can get away in a better spot; she will be heard from late. (4) MYFRIENDJOSE was aggressively handled in his most recent attempt to try and make front but was hung out the mile as a result. He will reunite with Trevor Henry who has had success guiding him this year. He can pick up a piece.

Race 2: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING HANDICAP $8,000 TO $11,000.

(5) JOB HUNTER tired late in the mile and submitted to the eventual winner who made a first-over bid. She draws better here and should be able to work out a much easier trip and gets top honors here. (1) MY ONLY SUNSHINE was rallying nicely to pick up the show spot in her most recent. She draws inside and is one that merits plenty of respect in the late stages of the mile; contender. (4) JAZZVILLE drew outside and wasn’t a factor, but rallied nicely down the lane to grab a share. She gets post relief here and can be a factor with the right trip. (7) KIERA SEESLTER was a sick-scr in her most recent. She has the ability to be a main threat in here, but her date isn’t the best.

Race 3: POP UP SERIES: HORSES THAT STARTED FOR A PURSE OF $10,000 OR LESS IN LAST 3 STARTS AND NW $50,000 IN 2025.

(3) GINGER TREE FINNY made her first start back in Ontario in after a successful stint out West. She finished up nicely in that outing and picks up the services of James MacDonald. I’ll give her top honors. (6) ROLL EM has the ability to trounce this group on class but I haven’t loved his on-track presentation as of late. He’s one that will benefit being back on a regular rotation and merits a lot of respect if he’s close to his best. (5) DOC HOUSTON hasn’t been a factor over his last two at Flamboro but has been racing well. He draws well on his return to the big track and he can hit the ticket. (1) BEACHIN LINDY rallied nicely to pick up a share in his latest and is one that should have every chance to close late for a piece yet again.

Race 4: NW $9,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $21,500 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000.

(4) PEMBERTON is a tricky horse to rely on, and we’ve seen him disappoint in the past when taking an abundance of support. That being said, he’s been much sharper over his last several tries and is James MacDonald’s choice over a few others in this contest; I’ll give him top call. (1) SPARTAN GENERAL moved up in class off a sharp victory and was a strong 2nd in his most recent. He will be heard from late in the mile and is one that merits respect here. (5) PASSARINO wasn’t a factor in his first start since August but will take a small dip in class here and will be back on a regular rotation. He draws well and should be put in play, giving him a chance. (8) PERFETTO is the biggest wild card in this field. He’ll be good if he touches down on the lead but I find that hard to think that’ll happen given his draw. He can race for a share.

Race 5: POP UP SERIES: HORSES THAT STARTED FOR A PURSE OF $10,000 OR LESS IN LAST 3 STARTS AND NW $50,000 IN 2025.

(2) MR IBIZA N was the most dominant of winners despite a tough journey and is tough to play against in this spot. (7) CHEDDAR BAY has been very consistent over the last couple years and returns to the big track off some sharp tries; I’ll use him underneath. (3) ARMOR SEELSTER is camera shy but his efforts as of late have been improved. He can rally for a piece and hit the ticket. (1) BETTORBEFLYIN rallied for a piece last time out and can do the same here.

Race 6: FILLIES & MARES CLAIMING $8,000 FOR NW $5,800 LAST 4 STARTS. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE.

(6) FIRST FILLY CHIP raced well in what was a tougher spot in her most recent. She finds herself in vs. a softer bunch and I’ll give her top honors here. (1) MY LAST KISS returns to the big track here and will be reunited with James MacDonald. She raced well when you give her a target to chase and I’m sure that’s the kind of trip JMac will give her here; using. (5) TIMEWAITSONNOONE got picked off late in the stretch at London. She has been consistent as of late and can benefit from a target racing back on the big track, I would think. (3) PROVE EM WRONG can pick up a share.

Race 7: $40,000 OPEN TROT

(5) SAFE CONDUCT was a minor upset winner in his most recent in a gate-to-wire approach. There are no Logan Park’s or Amigo Volo’s on this field and with another very good draw, he’s tough to pick against here. (4) WHAT ABOUT ELMO took his shot at the choice in his most recent effort and was a narrow 3rd. He raced well but was never able to go by and is likely racing for place yet again. (6) HASTY BID raced well in his most recent despite an 8th place effort. He could be even sharper tonight and is a value player underneath. (3) MR BLUE BIRD showed improvement in his most recent try and can get sharper as he gets himself acclimated on the big track, racing against this bunch.

Race 8: POP UP SERIES: HORSES THAT STARTED FOR A PURSE OF $10,000 OR LESS IN LAST 3 STARTS AND NW $50,000 IN 2025.

(9) CRAZY WORLD is exiting a few tries at Flamboro. He will make his first pari-mutuel start over a big track and is James MacDonald’s choice over three others in this contest. He’s never sat behind him before and his decision provides some intrigue; top call. (5) LARCENY was a sharp 2nd in his most recent and is one that draws well here in this spot too. We know he can compete vs. this bunch if he’s on his game. (1) MATTS BANK returns to the big track and is one that is coming off a solid 6th place try. He could be ready for more this evening. (6) WILDRIVERBUMBLEBEE was an okay 5th in his latest and draws the middle of the gate. We could see him be aggressively handled and that could be enough in this spot.

Race 9: CLAIMING HANDICAP $18,000 TO $24,000.

(4) VERTICAL SQUIRT went off as the favorite in his most recent over a pair of sharper rivals and just missed to be 2nd. He draws even better than he did last time out and I’ll give him clear top honors here. (7) LETS GET ROCKED was aggressively handled in his most recent and made a couple of moves to get to the winner’s circle. He will have to be on his game to fend off the choice, in my opinion. (6) HF PANS SHADOW has been razor sharp as of late and draws better than he did last week. He’s a contender. (5) PIPEWRENCH CHARLIE is in a better spot and should be able to show improvement this evening.

Race 10: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $8,000 FOR NW $7,500 LAST 4 STARTS.

(2) ORDER ONE TO GO stands out in class as he plummets vs. a much more manageable spot. I’ll give him top call but won’t go all-in. (8) LYONS NIGHT HAWK put forth a solid effort in what was his first start since May. He finished up nicely in that contest and could be ready for a bigger effort now that he's back on a regular rotation. (4) ARAGONITE put the slip on his rivals in his latest and cruised to victory. He draws well and a similar performance could be coming yet again. (1) RAYS KREDIT never had a chance turning for home but rallied nicely to be 3rd; he can pick up a big piece with the right trip. (3) NO FOOL MACKINLAY rallied nicely to be 2nd in his latest. He draws inside and should be in a stalking position yet again.
