Race 1: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING HANDICAP $8,000 TO $11,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000.
(1) FANCY LETTERING showed a decisive front-end win versus similar company when racing off the claim and returns with the rail and a top pilot; should be forward and very difficult to run down. (4) JUST ONE BITE is a grinder and has plenty of tactical speed. She will be pressing or pocketed early and has the late kick to challenge if she can get a clear path. (3) FIRST FILLY CHIP is reliable at this level and usually picks up a share. She can be in the exotics if the pace sets up right.

Race 2: CLAIMING HANDICAP $30,000 TO $40,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE & SEX. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000.
(2) YYC ON THE HORIZON has been extremely sharp in both of his recent wins. He has quality speed on both ends of the mile. He should settle into a stalking position and be dangerous turning for home. (1) PREMIER FIRST STAR makes a somewhat lateral class move to a spot where an inside draw could help him get away closer. He can grind into contention. (6) BOLD SPIRIT can produce a fastball up front that leaves others chasing when at his best. He tailed off last week, but could rebound.
Race 3: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $8,000 FOR NW $6,000 LAST 4 STARTS. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE.
(7) ASHERS BASHER has had an excellent season and continues to gut out strong miles on the front. He looms as a potential pocket rocket. (2) SPORTNSENSE comes off two very nice wins where he looked visually very impressive. The leading driver hopping in the bike is likely to take the price away, but the form is hard to deny. (1) DANCE ON THE MOON is still working his way back after being off for a year and a half, but he took a step forward last week and could work his way into the race for a piece.
Race 4: NW $9,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $24,500 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. AE: NW $116,000 LIFETIME.
(8) PERFETTO finds a nice middle ground after two tries from well off the pace against tougher trotters. If he can work out a trip from outside, he should be dangerous. (5) SPARKS FLY has the tactical speed and ability when he is on his game. If he drops into a stalking trip, he’ll be right there late. (2) SPARTAN GENERAL has the back class and comes off a confidence boosting win that should certainly have him in the mix again tonight.
Race 5: CLAIMING HANDICAP $18,000 TO $24,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE & SEX. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000.
(7) LETS GET ROCKED is one of the more reliable claimers on the card. Tactical speed and consistency give him the edge against this group. (4) PHONE NINE ONE ONE has shown that he can hang at this level and should be at least considered an underneath use. (1) WELL SAID has shown ability and finally gets a positive post switch. He will be competitive if he can secure a favorable early position.
Race 6: HORSES THAT STARTED FOR A PURSE OF $8,000 OR LESS IN LAST 4 STARTS. (W/O $12,000 LAST 8 STARTS N/E).
(4) BROOKDALE MIKI can perform at this level when forwardly placed. He should be able to get his preferred trip from his post. Hard to not see him in the mix when turning for home. (1) HOWMAC CHARMER should continue to trend in the right direction after a solid third when shipping from PEI. McNair should have him in a prime spot to explode late. (8) ROLL EM showed his class two starts ago with a solid win, but he hasn’t raced in over a month now. It would be logical to assume that he could be a step short tonight.
Race 7: OPEN.
(6) SAFE CONDUCT was moving very well in the late stages last week. He is a horse I’ve chased plenty this year, but he should offer a square price if he gets the right trip. (9) LOGAN PARK flaunted his class two starts ago despite the tough post. It’s a similar scenario tonight, but there is nothing on the horizon to prepare for, and his price will be short. (1) SID THE KID comes off a blowout win against weaker competition. The inside draw and proven versatility at the top levels makes him a logical use.
Race 8: CLAIMING HANDICAP $8,000 TO $11,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000.
(1) ST LADS BEAT IT has plenty of early speed and the inside draw to secure a favorable early seat. He could take them all the way just like he did two starts ago. (6) MACH STEADY has been handled extremely aggressively in recent starts. When the veteran is pumped up and ready, he goes a long way on the lead. J-Mac should easily be able to secure a good trip. (7) ALWAYS B SWEETEST is in good enough form to pick up a share; He will be a factor if the pace overheats, though it isn’t always a reliable tactic at Mohawk.

Race 9: NW $6,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $12,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: NW $40,000 IN 2025.
(7) MYFRIENDJOSE just missed after rallying in the stretch. He should be closer to the action tonight when getting away from the rail. I’ll try him again. (2) VILLEFRANCHE AS comes off two subpar efforts, but gets a drop in class and reunites with J-Mac who has gotten more out of the veteran than most. (1) MAJOR BANK has been just even in his last few starts, but faces different horses tonight and could get an aggressive steer from Plante.
Race 10: NW $1,500 LAST 4 STARTS (W/O $13,000 LAST 8 STARTS N/E).
(4) FOREFATHER gets a sizable drop in class this week. He should be right there at the wire against a group who likes to falter on the front. (1) STORMALONG drops in class relative to some recent assignments and draws a spot that should let him work out a good trip; expect a powerful late move. (2) ARMOR SEELSTER has the speed to be close when turning for home and should get a suitable stalking trip. He likes to wait for things to open up for him, which could result in him hitting the board at a price.
