Kevin Plowcha|Oct 16, 2026
Mohawk Logo

Top Pick Stats: 586/1874 (-$989.90)

Best Bets: 67/169 (-$55.50); Spot Plays: 35/172 (-$114.00)

Best Bet: IMPERATIVE (Race 1)

Spot Play: SHOW STOP (Race 5)

Early Pick-5: 3/3,6/3,7/9/4,5,9 $2.40

Late Pick-5: 5,9/3,6/8,10/2,3/3 $3.20

Race 1: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, WINNERS OF 3 (FM 4) BUT NOT MORE THAN 6 OR $80,000 (OS $105,750) LIFETIME. AE: NW $10,000 IN 2025 (MIN 4 STARTS).

(3) IMPERATIVE comes into this race in outstanding form after consecutive victories. Roy should have this gelding in an excellent position to extend his winning streak. (9) SAPPHIRE STEVE is fresh off a victory in this same class on October 11. His tactical speed makes him a serious threat despite the outside post. (6) GETTHEGREEN has a victory and a runner-up finish in his last two starts. J-Mac gives him another opportunity to work out a competitive trip.

Race 2: HARVEST SERIES: ONTARIO SIRED OR BRED 3 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS, NW $150,000 IN 2026 AS OF SEPTEMBER 30TH 2026. AE: OPT. CLM. $100,000. LEG 1.

(6) MIKE ME UP comes off a solid third-place finish in the Ontario Sires Stakes Gold Final, beaten just one length. That performance against quality competition makes him the horse to beat in this Harvest Series opener. (3) STORMONT FAST BOY has been extremely consistent with two wins and five top-three finishes in six starts this season. He has the speed to challenge the favorite. (2) THOR B GOOD has a recent runner-up effort that makes him a legitimate contender for underneath if repeated.

Race 3: HARVEST SERIES: ONTARIO SIRED OR BRED 3 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS, NW $150,000 IN 2026 AS OF SEPTEMBER 30TH 2026. AE: OPT. CLM. $100,000. LEG 1.

(3) ODDS ON BULLFROG finished third in the Gold Final with a Grassroots Final win the week before. His class and recent performances make him the clear top selection. (7) WHOLETTHEDOGSOUT should finish up nicely against an easier field and figures prominently with a favorable trip. (1) CHEESE DREAMS has been reliable recently. A short field gives this gelding every opportunity to hit the board.

Race 4: NW $25,000 LAST 4 STARTS. AE: NW 8 RACES OR $150,000 LIFETIME. AE: OPT. CLM. $100,000.

(9) MAJOR VELOCITY made an extended outside move but couldn’t track down New Rules in the end. I think he gets put in play earlier this week given the post. (1) OSCEOLA was a winner when last seen at this level but will have to work harder with a bigger, classier field against him. (10) AMIGO VOLO was overmatched in last week’s Open, but most of these would be against those types. If he gets involved from the high draw, he can get a piece.

Race 5: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $8,000 FOR NW $4,600 LAST 4 OR $8,700 LAST 8 STARTS. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE.

(9) SHOW STOP could get more involved this week despite an outside draw against a field that is searching for wins. I’ll swing at a price. (4) THE DARK PANTHER has shown enough competitiveness to suggest he is getting closer to a better result. (5) WICKED EXPRESS races off the claim and has some back class to give him a chance to rebound and become a factor.

Race 6: NW $6,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $14,000 LAST 8 STARTS AE: OPT. CLM. $40,000.

(9) FOR JULY comes off a sharp victory last week, closing to win by two lengths. That performance makes him an appealing choice to repeat. (5) TOP MAST finished third behind For July in his most recent start and has shown enough competitive form since returning to remain a contender. (1) NZURI has been competing against conditioned company and gets an inside starting position here. He should benefit from this draw

Race 7: HARVEST SERIES: ONTARIO SIRED OR BRED 3 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS, NW $150,000 IN 2026 AS OF SEPTEMBER 30TH 2026. AE: OPT. CLM. $100,000. LEG 1.

(3) STORMONT SHANLYBOY was narrowly defeated in the Gold Final after dominating his previous start. His recent form against the province's best three-year-old trotters makes him the standout selection. (6) ANOTHER GREAT MASS has the speed and class to make him a solid option. His Grassroots tries were solid throughout the year. (4) MAIZE AND BLUE has been extremely consistent at this level, finishing second in several recent stakes appearances. His tactical speed should keep him involved throughout.

Race 8: NW $9,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $18,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $60,000.

(8) DISTANCE LEARNING returned to form and a repeat of that race makes him a leading contender. (10) GHOSTLY CASPER is third back now but has to navigate the outside post. A return to his better form would make him dangerous. (7) NASEY has tactical speed and recent consistency that makes him a serious contender who could easily finish higher.

Race 9: HARVEST SERIES: ONTARIO SIRED OR BRED 3 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS, NW $150,000 IN 2026 AS OF SEPTEMBER 30TH 2026. AE: OPT. CLM. $100,000. LEG 1.

(3) TILTHECOWSCOMEHOME has finished first or second in eight of his eleven starts this year. His recent consistency against quality Ontario Sires Stakes competition makes him the top selection. (2) SCORPION SEELSTER comes off an excellent runner-up finish on October 9. His ability to finish races effectively makes him a major threat with the right trip. (6) NO WAITLIST finished second by a head on October 4 before facing much tougher company in the Ontario Sires Stakes Gold Final. Returning to a more manageable level should help him produce a competitive effort.

Race 10: FILLIES & MARES.

(3) STORMONT BEAUTIFUL really had no business losing last week given the circumstances. I’ll try her again. (2) TACTICAL STRIKE pulled off the upset with a huge return to form. Can she do it again? (6) MONALISHI is the class of this group but makes her first start since July in a spot where she absolutely does not need to be fully torqued.

Race 11: NW $2,500 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $8,500 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $25,000. AE: N/A $1,365 P/S IN 2026 (MIN 5 STS).

(4) OUT THE WINDOW comes off an encouraging runner-up finish after making a miscue. She has the ability to defeat this group if she stays flat throughout. (9) SOUTHERN COWBOY has been fine against conditioned trotters. He will need an improved effort, but will add value to exotics if he gets involved.. (1) RAISING RUSTY comes into tonight with consecutive runner-up finishes. A favorable trip seems likely for him.
