He gets sent out for his first start for his new owner by trainer Fellows and he fits well here; top call. (5) PREMIER FIRST STAR was eliminated early in his PASS start but he really had little chance vs. Captain Albano and company. Getting back to a realistic spot here makes him a contender. (2) FASNACHT HANOVER couldn’t close into a 26 4/5 kicker last week. His effort two starts back shows that he is sharp, and he can be right there if the pace is honest; using. (7) CHALK HANOVER should close for a slice in this spot. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: CHAMPLAIN STAKES: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES (4) PERFECTLY CHIC didn’t have much of a chance when she drew post 10 against killer Chantilly. She draws better now and faces easier, and she gets the nod. (6) NICE BUNS qualified like her gait issue is fixed and she will likely be the one to catch here. (1) PAPIS OPINION tried Chantilly first up in a solid effort and she has a chance to break her maiden here; using. (3) MILLIE MAY HANOVER is another that comes off a decent try vs. the best rookie filly on these grounds and she is in the exotics mix. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: CHAMPLAIN STAKES: 2 YEAR OLD OPEN (4) AYEAYE CAPTAIN DEO lacked room until it was too late last time as the three rivals in front of him were in an all-out sprint late. He can win here with a better trip. (1) POWER CODE has shown he has the speed to contend vs. these and Roy will likely look to take control of this small field early; using. (6) STERLING CHOICE would have been 3rd or better if he didn’t get interfered with in midstretch last week. He should be part of the Tri here. (3) COOKIE AIR hung in the lane in both starts here and there is little reason to think he can step into Grand Circuit company and win now. Race 4: NW $14,000 L5 or $28,900 L10 AE: NW7 LT - Pick 4 (6) STOCKADE SEELSTER was stubborn in defeat last week, but a persistent rival just ground him down in the final 1/4. This is a good spot for him to get off the 2024 schneid. (1) MR IBIZA N was simply too far back last week. He gets Macdonald with McNair showing typical loyalty to the Brad Grant owned entry. He can be right there vs. these if he gets moving earlier. (5) UNCLE SHANK A will likely ride in the choice’s pocket again tonight and he can land in the Tri. Decent sophomore (8) WIKIPEDIA is always closing, and he can sneak into the bottom of the exotics here racing against his elders. Race 5: NW $27,500 L5 A/E N/A $4,690 P/S in 2023/24 Two horses that engaged in a destructive speed duel at this level renew acquaintances here and you’d think trips will be different and drives will be smarter this time. Of those two, (2) WRITE ME A ROSE might ride the pocket of rival (7) WHICHWAYTOTHEBEACH this time and prevail late. The latter hug in well considering, and he would be no surprise here. (5) DRAGONONTHEBEACH circled up like he was the winner then he got picked off in the final strides. He is another in with a shot here. (4) P L OZZY was relentless racing first up last week and he is worth using off that sharp winning effort. Race 6: CHAMPLAIN STAKES: 2 YEAR OLD OPEN - Pick 5 (3) BOXER SEELSTER may have paced too fast to the 3/4 last week. He tired and leaked off the pylons late which allowed the winner to sprit through for the win. He still has room to improve, and he gets the nod here. (5) CENTURY LUCIFER got a tough trip last week and he caused interference to a couple of rivals in the stretch. He gets Macdonald now and a better trip is likely tonight; using. (2) MAD RIVER comes in on a win streak and has Zeron in the bike in a short field. He’s hard to leave off multi-race tickets. (7) BRIGADE closed well when 3rd to the choice on 8/24 and he dropped more than two seconds in that race. He is worth a look in this spot as he could go forward again. Race 7: SIMCOE: 3 YEAR OLD OPEN Two of the sophomore heavyweight colts, stablemates (6) LEGENDARY HANOVER and (8) NIJINSKY face off for the first time since the latter took the North America Cup. I think the former, who drew better, turns the tables here. (2) THE VICAR is class tested here and may looked overmatched on paper, but he always seems to be live in the lane and he could sneak into the bottom of the Tri at a price. (3) TROPHY TAKER was good last week, and he can take a slice here. Race 8: CHAMPLAIN STAKES: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES (3) AU JUS HANOVER will likely offer some value here and she has already shown that she can beat likely favorite on the square. J Mac will likely drive her aggressively like he did two starts back. (1) BONHOMIE HANOVER flew late in the Eternal Camnation and the short field should help her; using.  (2) CANT SEE ME offers no value as the likely chalk and I’ll play to beat her in this spot. (6) WICKED N SINGLE should race better here and land in the bottom of the exotics. Race 9: SIMCOE: 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES - Pick 4 (6) ITS A LOVE THING is on a tremendous roll that is very unlikely to be stopped tonight. The choice’s stablemate, (5) PASS LINE, returned to good form when she finished 2nd to the choice, and she can take another top two finish here. (3) ODDS ON PLATINUM couldn’t match strides with the choice last time and there is no reason to think that will change here. I could see deep closer (7) COCO JO JO passing some tired rivals to land in the bottom of the Super. Race 10: Horses that have started for a purse of $15,000 or less in 1 of L3 (6) CODE CRACKER lands in a field laden with rivals that typically want the front leaving the gate and I see Cullen dropping back early and charging past them late; top call. (4) IDEAL PERCEPTION missed four weeks between starts but it didn’t matter, and he has shown in the past that he doesn’t need the lead to win. He should be a major threat right back. (1) LEGION SEELSTER is another that figures to sit and rally and he is in with a shot here. (5) HUNGRY MAN dropped and popped but he will likely get more competition for the lead here. I’ll use him on the bottom. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 11: 5YO and younger NW2 or $30,000 LT AE: 3YO N/A $1,510 P/S in 2024 (5) WHY WOULDNT YA just finished 2nd in a NW7 class now he gets into this NW2 because he has only averaged $1506.47 per start so far in 2024. He should be tough in here. (4) FALL IN LINE looked good beating maidens and he still has plenty of upside. He could double up vs. these. (2) R J RINGO raced well at a big price last week and he can take another share here starting from an inside post. (6) SPORTY BEE made a nice wide move to break his maiden but I’m not sure he beat much there. I’ll use him underneath tonight. Race 12: NW $8,000 L5 or $16,750 L10 AE: OPT CLM $50,000 AE: NW $1,000 in 2024 (2) THE GREEK FREAK drops to a logical spot here and he should get an aggressive steer from Jones; top call to end the late Pick 4. (1) SOUTHSIDE EDDY only gets into this class because he hasn’t earned a cent this year. He has been off for 11 months, but he is plenty fast enough to beat these if he is ready. The addition of Lasix is a move that has worked many times in the past for his trainer. (5) TYGA HANOVER dominated the Pop Up series but he gets class tested here and I’m inclined to try to beat him. (3) ORDER ONE TO GO will be closing as always, and he is hard to leave out of the exotics. (7) DREAMFAIR ARNIE B got an impossible trip last week. He can take a check here with a slightly better trip.
