Race 1: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GOLD 2 YO COLTS & GELDINGS **GTD $100,000 Pick 5**

(6) DESPERATE MAN puts his perfect record on the line against a tough field here, but he holds the fastest mark in the race, and he should be up to it if he gets a reasonable trip. (7) LAWLESS SHADOW is an obvious threat after wiring a Grand Circuit race from the 9-hole. (3) BETTOR SUN led a Grand Circuit race to the head of the lane, and he may be able to sit a golden pocket trip here; using. (5) NO BETTOR JOY should be closing late to take another share in this spot.

Race 2: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GOLD 3YO FILLIES

(3) LAURAS LOVE tried mission impossible last week, pulling first up on unbeaten Party Girl Hill, so I won't hold that 6th-place finish against her. She gets top call here back in sires stakes company. (5) BETALADY also fits better here and she should be a speed threat. (2) BEACH SPORTS had little chance in the Fan Hanover final when starting from the second tier. Her effort in the elimination makes her a factor here. (4) ROSE RUN VANTAGE was second to the choice in a Gold race at Grand River in early August. She should be an exotics factor here.

Race 3: GOODTIMES FINAL 3YO OPEN

(5) READY FOR MONI asserted his superiority last week in his elimination and there should be more of the same coming here. (10) HOT WHEELZ continues to show improvement and I'm going to try to blow up the Exacta with him at a price. (4) HP ROYAL THEO is an obvious threat, but he would likely need to drop at least a second to threaten the choice. (1) CAPORNICUS can rally late again and make it into the Tri or Super.

Race 4: NW $8,000 L5 or $18,500 L10 - Pick 4

(2) THE DOWNTOWN BUS takes a big class dive here and he will be very hard to beat in this spot at odds-on. (3) YACHT SEELSTER is another class dropper who should wake up with a better performance here; Exacta factor. (1) PRICELESS BEACH steps up but he was right there all the way in a fast race last time, and he can take a slice here. (10) BORN OF FIRE went a big trip vs. easier last time. Consider using him on the bottom.

Race 5: MAPLE LEAF TROT 3YO and Older

This looks like a great betting race with some of the main contenders drawing challenging posts. One horse whose strategy will be no secret will be (3) GUARDIAN ANGEL AS who is sure to be the first leader. Driver Jamieson won this race in 2018 with Crazy Wow; slight nod. (9) GIMPANZEE is having a tremendous campaign but he couldn't get past the choice at Tioga and he could be in for a worse trip here; demand a price. (10) MANCHEGO will likely look to slingshot to the front as early as possible, but she is at the mercy of the #1 or #2 horse who could both get outsprinted by a few of these leaving the gate. (4) ATLANTA made a rare miscue last week and you are sure to get a much better price on her in this spot of you are sticking with her. I prefer to use her underneath.

Race 6: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GOLD 2 YO COLTS & GELDINGS - Pick 5

(3) BULLDOG HANOVER has done little wrong so far and off his most recent impressive OSS Gold win he gets top call here. (4) CANDY TRADER is an obvious contender coming off a strong closing effort in Grand Circuit action; using. (1) UCANTTOUCHTHIS does best when rallying late but that often results in him running out of racetrack. I'll use him underneath here. (5) CONTROL HEAVEN is worth a look for the Super off his debut win the other night.

Race 7: CANADIAN PACING DERBY CONSOLATION 3 YO & OLDER

(5) WESTERN JOE ships in off two good efforts down south and he faces a field he should be able to handle here. (1) COVERED BRIDGE's best race puts him right there on the wire, but it's hard to predict if he can produce it here; your call. (7) THE DEVILS OWN N is likely to show speed here and he has the perfect driver to try to bottom out the field. He isn’t without a chance. (9) EAST END rarely throws in a clunker and he could pass a few of these late to land in the Tri or Super.

Race 8: SIMCOE STAKES 3YO

(1) BEAUMOND HANOVER paced a 53-flat back 1/2 uncovered in his North America Cup elimination and yet just missed making the final. He should be tough in here. (6) WARRAWEE VITAL was razor-sharp here last week cutting a 25 2/5 opening 1/4 and rolling from there. He is the main danger, but he could end up being the perfect target if the choice leaves quick enough to sit his pocket most of the way. (5) MAYHEM HANOVER should improve in this spot, but I don't see him threatening the top two choices. (4) ANETO tries hard every week and he should work his way into the Super in this spot.

Race 9: CANADIAN PACING DERBY 3 YEAR OLDS & OLDER - Pick 4

(7) CENTURY FARROH returns home a millionaire after winning the Dan Patch and he is one of several contenders in a race that will likely be decided by trip and pace. (4) SINTRA, winner of this race in 2017, is in top form and he could trip out stalking a quick pace; using. (2) DANCIN LOU stretched his legs here last week and left plenty in the tank for this race. He is sure to be more aggressive here. (1) BETTORS WISH is kind of under the gun to try to leave from the tricky rail post and he may never get a breather. I'll play to beat him.

Race 10: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GOLD 3YO FILLIES

(2) KARMA SEELSTER produced two solid efforts vs. undefeated Party Girl Hill and she should be the one to catch here. (4) ALICORN exits the same races as the choice and draws better but she may have to take the overland route chasing the choice. (6) SEX APPEAL was sluggish on August 3rd at Grand River and she then took a break. She could go much better here coming in refreshed. (3) ALL DAY SUNSHINE should pass a couple of these late and take a small share.

Race 11: SIMCOE STAKES 3YO

(2) TATTOO ARTIST will take beating here after valiantly chasing Tall Dark Stranger in vain in the biggest race in the country for sophomore pacers. Stablemates (3) CAPTAIN BARBOSSA and (6) CAPT MIDNIGHT both figure to get much better trips here and if the choice is going to get knocked off, it will likely be by one of these colts. (4) BEACH BLANKET BOOK can get position near the front early and stick around for a share.

Race 12: NW $8,000 L5 or $18,500 L10

(7) ROYAL RENEGADE has reached peak form and he just took a new life's mark. If he gets another aggressive steer, he can repeat despite jumping up in class. (5) SCOUTS REPORT didn't get a great trip after leaving from the second tier last week. I expect improvement with him starting from the middle of the gate here. (3) POINTOMYGRANSON had little chance from an outside post last week. Moving inside he has upset potential in this spot. (2) TREMENDOUS PLAY is always right there at this level and he is another who could take this with the right trip. (6) JM JACK OF HEARTS is sharp, but these are tougher, and I'll use him underneath.
