(8) KOBRA KAI is the "now" horse in this division and he could be an overlay here starting from a wide post; top call. (4) KAPORAL was no match for the choice last week as the 2 to 5 favorite. Maybe he looks for the pocket tonight; using. (1) SIP OF BOURBON was first up against the two choices last week and that trip wasn't going to work out. I think he sits and rallies here. (6) DYNOMITES PEAK has had an uneven year but he can close for a share here.

Race 2: MILTON STAKES ELIMINATION F&M 3YO and Older

(4) GRACE HILL has hit her best stride in her last few starts and she gets McNair here; slight nod in a small but competitive field. (2) FIRE START HANOVER similarly comes in sharp and she should be well-positioned throughout this mile; using. (3) WATCH ME NOW N stretched her legs against the locals last week and she should be even sharper for this. She is another to consider for the Pick 5. (1) VOELZ DELIGHT is right there every week. She should qualify for the final.

Race 3: NW $18,000 L5 or $30,000 L10 AE: NW $160,000 LT

(3) SOUTHBEACH HANOVER was huge last week, carving out fast fractions then digging in to repel challengers from all sides in the lane. Off that sharp effort, he gets the call to repeat here. (10) TYPHOON STRIDE N had missed more than a month between starts last week and now he gets to drop a few levels. He can be a threat here, even from post 10. (7) LAWLESS SHADOW got a great trip but he couldn't get past the choice last week. I'll use him underneath here. (8) POWERTRAIN drops but this is no easy spot. I think he closes late for a share.

Race 4: SIMCOE STAKES 3YO OPEN - Pick 4

(4) FOUREVER BOY has faced the toughest sophomore colt pacers all year and he comes in off a win in the Pennsylvania Sires Stakes championship. He should be hard to beat here. (6) SPORT SECRET will likely set up shop on the front end early and that gives him a shot to upset the choice; using. (1) DREAMFAIR ARNIE B has been on a tear but he gets a class test here and I see him taking a slice. (2) RON will likely sit a following trip near the front and land a share.

Race 5: CHAMPLAIN STAKES 2YO Fillies

(4) SYLVIA HANOVER was a relentless first up winner in the Eternal Camnation and she is the one to beat here coming off that stellar effort. (8) CAVIART DAVIA was excellent in defeat in that same race and she figures to be the main danger again. (5) WINDSUN TIARA almost pulled off a big upset despite racing with broken equipment and she keeps Tetrick here; upset chance. (6) MOMENTARY CONTROL can produce a huge late kick on her best day and she is worth a look for the bottom of the exotics here.

Race 6: MILTON STAKES ELIMINATION F&M 3YO and Older - Pick 5

(7) TEST OF FAITH was likely short when bet at 5 cents to the dollar last time. That mile will have the screws tightened and she is the class of this division; top call. (5) SO MUCH MORE couldn't be any sharper and her grit has been well documented many times over. She could prove a tough foe for the choice tonight. (2) CLASSICIST brings some solid form north and she should get good position early. She is in the exotics mix. (1) DABARNDAWGSWATCHIN caught fire in the past three weeks and she can make the final of this Grand Circuit event despite facing tougher tonight.

Race 7: SIMCOE STAKES 3YO FILLIES

(3) SILVER LABEL hit her best stride in August and she is the one to beat here as she shoots for a fourpeat. (2) I LOVEONGAIT put up some big fractions in Ottawa and almost held on. She is sharp and dangerous. (7) BIG BETTOR HANOVER was airborne last time when facing older mares. She has upset potential here. (6) VELVET STINGER took a Gold win rallying down the lane in Ottawa and her good late kick should get her a share tonight.

Race 8: CHAMPLAIN STAKES 2YO OPEN

(4) SAVE AMERICA took a Grand Circuit win last time despite having missed 3 1/2 weeks. He should be sharper here which could be scary for his rivals. (6) ACE OF ACES has been chasing some tigers the past three starts and he faces another here; Exacta factor. (5) CAPTAIN BATBOY was 2nd to the choice last time but he was no match. He likely takes another slice here. (8) ANTS MARCHING is an interesting Takter shipper that is worth a look for the exotics.

Race 9: SIMCOE STAKES 3YO OPEN

(5) BEACH GLASS is the top sophomore pacing colt on the continent and he should add to his resume tonight in this Grand Circuit event. (4) STONEBRIDGE HELIOS comes into this off a monster winning effort and his best gives him a chance tonight. (6) GREATEST ENDING looks next best and he should get positioned near the front early and stick around for a share. (2) BETTERHAVEMYMONEY comes off an improved effort and he is in the exotics mix again.

Race 10: OPEN HANDICAP - Pick 4

(6) DESPERATE MAN exits a Canadian record-tying mile and he should beat this group. (4) CODENAME CIGAR BOX comes off a huge effort in defeat and he couldn't be any sharper; price look. (8) AMERICAN HISTORY has been idle since taking a big Open win on 8/13 and that is likely because there has been no Open carded since then. He is an obvious threat here. (3) MAPPOS LION is one of the hardest trying horses on this circuit and he should land a share here despite facing tougher.

Race 11: Winners of 2 but not more than 4 or $40,000 AE: 3YO to be claimed for $50,000

Tough trying to predict intent in this race with so many in between sires stakes starts. I'll side with (8) SOUTHSIDE EDDY, who gets sent forward at the start of every race. (9) ST LADS STERLING wins this if he gets put into play early enough, but he is often unhurried in these kinds of races so I wouldn't take a short price. (2) SPORTY M THREE has improving form but the two choices are faster. He would need a perfect trip to get the job done here. (1) TWIN B JAMMER’s speed should get him a spot near the front early and he can take a slice.

Race 12: NW $6,000 L5 or $12,000 L10 AE: OPT CLM $45,000

(5) COMMANDING OFFICER was locked up tight in the pocket for the entire stretch drive last week as the leader was on his way to a third straight win. He drops here and he is the clear top pick. (1) WOODMERE STEALDEAL flashed home in 25 1/5 in his return race and he is an obvious contender on the drop. I wonder if he will get over bet here. (7) IDEAL PERCEPTION should improve here exiting the Gold Cup and Saucer final. He should be a speed threat. (6) HERVEY HANOVER steps up off a big win and this is tougher; small share predicted.

Race 13: NW $12,500 L5 or $22,000 L10 or NW $105,000 LT AE: OPT CLM $65,000

(2) HIGHLANDBEACHLOVER drops and adds Lasix and he showed two starts back that he can win at a similar level and pace in 1:50 flat; top call. (4) THATTLL BE SPORTY draws decently for the first time in several weeks and Sorrie takes the return drive. He is in with an upset chance here. (1) CONTROL HEAVEN gets away from the streaking Fabrizio N and he should be the main threat in here. (8) RHODENA ROAD drops a few levels and he should come on late to take a share. (5) JM JACK OF HEARTS is typically around the money when he races at this level and he should be part of the High-5.
