Mohawk Logo

Top Pick Stats: 429/1342 (-$668.70)

Best Bets: 53/120 (-$33.90); Spot Plays: 29/123 (-$69.70)

Best Bet: SCORPION SEELSTER (Race 4)

Value Play: LADYTERRA (Race 5)

Early Pick-5: 1,5/7/5,6,9/5,9/6,10 $4.80

Middle Pick-5: 2,4/1,3/1,2/5/5,8 $3.20

Late Pick-5: 1,2/5/5,8/5/3,6 $1.60

Race 1: FILLIES & MARES, NW $9,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $18,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. AE: NW $30,000 OR N/A $2,690 P/S IN 2026.

(5) MADRID A draws perfectly for another speed try in a race that shouldn’t get too contested. (1) CARRERA SUNSET N may need another race under her but a step forward tonight seems logical given what she has already shown this summer. (6) COLD CREEK FUEGO continues to grind out checks but will likely be caught chasing when it matters most.

Race 2: OPEN.

(7) LOGAN PARK showed everyone that he is still the king of this division. Catch him if you can. (1) EMOTICON LEGACY eked out a second-place finish in his second start back. The rail doesn’t help if he wants to be handled a little more aggressively tonight. (6) MAJOR VELOCITY could add the slightest of value to exotics if his turn of foot carries him past rivals.

Race 3: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $37,500) LIFETIME.

(5) RUN TO THE HILLS posted a very good effort in his first start back. The connections clearly figured something out because he only needed one qualifier. Big threat if he can repeat that mile. (6) SECRET SOCIETY measures up to these on paper but may not have the turn of foot necessary to hold them off. We’ll see. (9) STAY FRESH has been pacing quick miles but everyone does that at those specific PA tracks. He’s more of a wait and see type for me.

Race 4: 3 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: GRASSROOTS OR PROSPECT STARTERS FOR NW $15,000 LAST 4 STARTS.

(9) SCORPION SEELSTER was searching for room in the stretch but nothing materialized. He settled for fourth but was running up on horses. I’ll try him tonight despite the wide draw. (5) PLANKTON HANOVER saw his potential lane up the inside shut off which ended his race. Some early speed could see him hang around longer than expected. (1) JOHNNY ANGEL closed well to be third which has been his m.o. as of late. Another outside journey seems likely given the early speed types to his outside.

Race 5: FILLIES & MARES, NW $2,500 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $8,500 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. AE: N/A $815 P/S L4.

(10) LADYTERRA took significant support three starts ago but wound up first over and got late-pulled on by the mare in the pocket. She’s had two no chance trips since, but drops back down in class now. I’ll try her at a price. (6) MACAPELO SEELSTER is an obvious threat given her performance two starts ago. She should work out a good trip. (4) SANTAFES APPETITE has been much better in her last two starts and should be passing horses late once again.

Race 6: FILLIES & MARES OPEN.

(2) LETS N JOY N ripped off cover and brushed past her rivals with a sharp stretch kick. Hard to imagine she works out that good of a trip again, but that likely won’t matter. (4) SIMPLY THE BEST was beaten on the square by Lets N Joy N again. Despite her likely leaving for position, I would expect the same result again. (8) ABSOLUTION could throw a wrench into things if she blasts from the outside. She has only missed the ticket three times this year.

Race 7: FILLIES & MARES, NW $6,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $13,500 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $30,000. AE: N/A $2,050 P/S IN 2025-26.

(1) MYBITCOIN was bet heavily in her latest and finished a good second to a sharp One Last Wish. She should perform well again tonight. (3) KISS N finally gets some class relief and should take advantage. She isn’t the quickest off the car but a quarter move into a slower race would set her up nicely. (8) FATED FIRE held her own last week and will benefit if the outside flow is moving.

Race 8: NW $9,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $22,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. AE: N/A $2,600 P/S IN 2025-26. AE: NW 7 RACES LIFETIME.

(1) PACINO HANOVER is hard to ignore when he drops to a level like this. The race should set up for him to grind into contention and edge clear late. (2) CAPTAIN FEAR NOT finds a good middle ground after being unable to get a check in his latest. His profile is similar to Pacino Hanover. (6) LITE UP THE WORLD can be forgiven for having to chase in what was a ridiculously fast mile. He hasn’t been at his best since making that break, however.

Race 9: OPEN.

(5) CENTURY KOMODO is back in top form and should give this field a big run for their money. (6) CRACK SHOT drifted to about the seven path and still won by nearly a length. He’s the horse to beat, but the drifting could cost him if Komodo brings his best. (4) DELRAY BEACH didn’t stop once he got to the lead and set a new career best. He surely can’t do that again, but it’s hard to look past.

Race 10: NW $6,250 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $15,500 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: N/A $1,715 P/S IN 2026 (MIN 5 STARTS).

(8) SILVERWALLS gets the nod from Borth and finds a group that isn’t the most consistent. He could go down the road. (5) RIPASSO has one of the sharpest turns of foot in this field and should be passing horses late. (2) DONT DROP THE BALL comes out of a race that I didn’t love, but he showed more in his second Mohawk start. As a likely underlay, he can get a piece.

Race 11: 3 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: GRASSROOTS STARTERS.

(5) HALL OF FEAR was too sharp to ignore in what was his third start back. I think he repeats. (3) ILLICIT BEHAVIOR circled up nicely three wide and was a sharp winner last week. If he brings that kick again, he should be a contender. (4) TILTHECOWSCOMEHOME has the name value but his last race came after two months off. Full credit to him cruising for the win, but he could still be a step short.

Race 12: NW $2,600 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $5,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: N/A $1,690 P/S IN 2025-26. AE: NW $12,750 IN 2026 (MIN 8 STARTS).

(3) MAJOR PERRY N should be aggressively handled this week with a class drop and much better post. I think he goes all the way. (6) LAKERS BANK got shuffled last week and was far too late when starting up in the stretch. He could provide value underneath. (4) INSTANTANEOUS is versatile and should enjoy getting away from some sharp claimers.
