Top Pick Stats: 152/456 (-$158.20) Best Bets: 18/42 (-$19.20) Spot Plays: 9/43 (-$40.50) Best Bet: MAGIC PUNK (Race 10) Value Play: RUTHLESS HANOVER (Race 5) Spot Play: ABUCKABETT HANOVER (Race 8) Early Pick 5: 2,5/1/6,9/5/5,6,7 $2.40 Middle Pick 5: 3,6/6,9/6,7/5,6/2 $3.20 Late Pick-5: 5,6/2/2,7/2,4/1,7,8 $4.80 Race 1: WINNERS OF 3 BUT NOT MORE THAN 7 RACES OR $80,000 (OS $105,000) LIFETIME. (5) ALLSTAR MANIAC has been extremely sharp in recent starts and visually looks very good when he is pacing home. He gets my nod in a competitive field. (2) JOEL AND THE JETS looked to be going by after tipping off cover but got picked off by a rival on his outside. He is knocking at the door. (4) FIFTH AND FIVE has strung wins together against weaker competition, but is another who has looked visually impressive. He has competed against Gold company in the past. (7) FRANCO SANTANA N has sharp early speed, which should get him a good spot, but I question how much pressure he can take when stepping up in class. Race 2: NASSAGAWEYA: 2 YEAR OLD OPEN. STARTING FEE: $1,000 CDN $775 USD. (1) BEAU JANGLES has looked like a special colt ever since he stepped foot on the track. The undefeated Cattlewash progeny will look to continue his streak against familiar foes. (3) REDLAND ROCKET MAN showed potential from day one and was a colt I wanted to keep my eye on after his wrapped-up win on July 8. He cruises against Grassroots foes but has to run into Beau Jangles when stepping up to the Gold. Regardless, he's a nice colt who can finish best of the rest. (4) STINGRAY DEO is likely to sit just off-the-pace, but has shown late speed which could make a trip like that perfect for him. (2) CALLSIGN ROOSTER was an impressive winner on the front last week but faces a major class test tonight. Race 3: NW $6,000 LAST 5 STARTS (W/O $15,000 LAST 10 STARTS N/E) AE: OPT. CLM. $30,000. AE: N/A $2,100 IN 2025. (6) NAUTICAL HANOVER has found a more comfortable spot and has turned his from around. Ignore his last start because of the post ten draw. (9) WHEELS ON FIRE is fresh at the moment after two straight front-end trips have resulted in good finishes. I would expect him to be forward. (4) MAYHEM HANOVER got the job done in his latest but was facing weaker company. It is a confidence-booster that he could build from. (1) ELLIOTT MOOSE has the speed to get away in good order, but may get shuffled in the middle portions of the race. He can re-rally for a slice. Race 4: ETERNAL CAMNATION: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES. STARTING FEE $1,000 CDN $775 USD. (5) NAUGHTY DELIGHT has had tough trips in all three career starts but has shown excellent speed on the end of her miles. This is a stakes group she can take advantage of. (4) DAYA produced a bit of a bounce effort after her massive mile at Grand River. She still paced a fast mile that would contend here. I think she can rebound. (2) BRIANS HALO raced inside for much of her mile last week but sprinted home well and got a share. I think she can do the same tonight. (6) FABULOUS HANOVER has shown decent speed against stateside stakes company. Top connections could have her ready to step up. Race 5: CANADIAN PACING DERBY ELIMINATION: 3 YEAR OLDS & OLDER. STARTING FEE: $5,000 CDN $3,875 USD. (5) RUTHLESS HANOVER got his preferred trip two starts ago and went down the road. I thought he battled well to get a check in the Sam McKee Memorial and could potentially get the jump on this field with some rating up top. (6) SABONIS was supplemented into this race after winning the Dan Patch from post ten. This was a breakthrough win for a horse who was knocking at the door and dancing all the dances. Dunn should get him a good trip. (7) ERVIN HANOVER has been extremely sharp at this track in recent weeks and comes off another 1:48 and change win. He should take plenty of support despite the presence of Grand Circuit rivals. (8) FUNTIME BAYAMA got a confidence-booster last week and returns to a track where he has had past success. He can work out a trip to make the final. Race 6: NASSAGAWEYA: 2 YEAR OLD OPEN. STARTING FEE: $1,000 CDN $775 USD. (3) SWEET LOVIN LOU will look to remain undefeated after a narrow win in the Dream Maker final. He continues to get faster and now takes on a couple of Gold foes in a match-up that should make for a good race. (6) TILTHECOWSCOMEHOME came up lame last week, which gives cause for concern, but he comes right back this week which is a good sign. He has spent the last few weeks chasing Beau Jangles around and now doesn't have to face that rival. If he's right, he should be a major player. (4) DAD finished second in the Dream Maker final and has shown to be a fast colt himself but is just a step below the top two in my opinion. (1) BORDERLINE MOBBY sat a perfect trip in his latest and came within a length and a half of Beau Jangles. He can sit close and get a share. ► Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter Race 7: PEACEFUL WAY FINAL: (GR 1). 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES. STARTING FEE $2,000 CDN $1,525 USD. (9) ONE BELLE continues to cement herself as the superstar of this division. She comes off a wrapped-up win in the Pure Ivory final and is the filly to beat. (6) SUGAR PACKET got a perfect tightener in the Peaceful Way eligibles race and should be ready to put a sharp effort forward tonight. I would expect her to be forwardly-placed as well. (7) GREEN MONI QUEEN has produced strong rallies from off-the-pace and could get a setup if the early speed becomes too much. (2) BINGO NIGHT lulled her rivals to sleep in the middle-half of that aforementioned Peaceful Way prep race. She has done little wrong so far. Race 8: CANADIAN PACING DERBY ELIMINATION: 3 YEAR OLDS & OLDER. STARTING FEE: $5,000 CDN $3,875 USD. (7) ABUCKABETT HANOVER has been very good at this track in the past. Despite the one win this year, he is a horse that I can still count on to come up with big efforts in big races. (6) BYTHEMISSAL was flying late in the Dan Patch to finish second after starting well off-the-pace. Now comes the age old question of, was it a fluke or not? We may not know until next week, considering this is an elimination, which means he may get plenty of respect. (2) CAPTAIN LUKE is in pretty solid form right now and should be given every chance to sit up close with Bartlett back in the bike. (8) COACHES CORNER backed up his second-place finish in the McKee with a strong second at Pocono against these types. Roy should get him into the race immediately. He can hang on for a piece. Race 9: ETERNAL CAMNATION: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES. STARTING FEE $1,000 CDN $775 USD. (5) TWIN B FIERCE nearly pulled the upset in the Whenuwishuponastar final after firing out and sitting a close trip. She is rapidly improving and is sitting on a win in my opinion. (6) JEN TILLY has shown potential when racing against the top fillies and Gingras showing up could mean she is handled aggressively again. I'm off the (4) ADINA HANOVER bandwagon. She had to try a first-over blitz into another slower middle-half, which allowed the leaders to get the jump. She can get the job done with the right trip. (2) TH CHECK ME OUT has come up short in recent weeks after going trips that should likely get you a win or two. I’ll use her underneath. Race 10: WILLIAM WELLWOOD MEMORIAL FINAL: (GR 1). 2 YEAR OLD OPEN. (2) MAGIC PUNK shipped up and immediately made his presence felt. He sat a perfect trip in his elimination and vaulted by. Dunn shines in big races no matter where he is, especially when partnered with Svanstedt's top teamsters. (6) ARDONNE has shown to have versatility already in his young career, which can allow him to get into this race in a variety of ways. I think Zeron gets aggressive. (7) FIRST CLASS MASS got a perfect tightener in last week's elimination and showed very good late ability and interest. He could pounce if things get interesting up front. (1) GREENARROW HANOVER hasn't done much wrong but could prove to be just a step below these Stateside shippers. He could dig himself an early hole from the rail. Race 11: PREFERRED 2. (2) REMEMBER THE ALAMO picks up Louis Roy after a razor-sharp effort where he just got picked off in his first start in the new barn. He can get the jump on these and rate. (7) CENTURY KOMODO wasn't handled as aggressively the last time Jamieson got the nod, but he got plenty out of him in the middle and late stages of the race. He could be looking for a similar grindy trip tonight. (3) TAURASI is pacing strong miles more consistently of late, but the wins just aren't coming. He should have options off the car. (6) WRITE ME A ROSE has paired second-place finishes at upper levels and likes to be forwardly-placed. "The Money Man" Scott Zeron could oblige him on the catch drive. Race 12: POP UP SERIES FINAL: H&G NW $50,000 IN 2025 (MIN 12 STARTS). AE: STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $11,000 OR LESS IN LAST START. (2) ROCHESTER FLASH has been in top form since the claim and should have an easier time getting a spot up close with the post relief. I'll side his way in this Pop-Up final. (4) COLD CREEK QUESO wasn't able to make up much ground after chasing a well-rated middle half. He can be used at a price if you think things get completely western up front. (7) JK BLACK GOLD got the job done at a short price but it was not convincing. McNair should have him forward as well. (1) WANNABEABIGSTAR is another who could capitalize off a hot pace, but he's gotten them in the past and has come up short. I'll use him underneath. Race 13: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $46,000) LIFETIME. AE: 3 YEAR OLDS NW $5,500 IN 2025. (1) CENTURY LUCIFER was a sharp second in his return, which should get him a lot of attention at the windows. He can step forward this week and get the job done. (8) BACKUP PLAN rebounded very nicely and cruised at this level. He is another who hasn't done too much wrong in his short career. (7) AQUINAS HANOVER has been sitting on a win all year, but it hasn't shown up yet. He can get himself in contention with a middle move. (6) TH KAY C CRUNCH should get himself into a good spot off the car. Despite two straight narrow losses, he likes to battle and fight. This is a competitive race. (2) SMILING DANCER is another who can step forward and do some damage in his second start back. I'll look for him to round out the Hi-5.
