(8) DELRAY BEACH gets my nod when dropping from the Open. He will hopefully be the quickest off the car and keep going. (5) DONT DROP THE BALL was sharp in his latest and could strike from up close, especially if the pace is hot. (6) CAPTAIN FEAR NOT had another tough trip last week and took a good chunk of support. Look for him to grind for a piece.

Race 2: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD LEG 4: 3 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $900 CDN ($700 USD).

(5) A CLEAN DEAL returns to likely take another Gold. If they couldn’t beat her off a month, why would that change now? (4) POWNAL BAY BOBBI tracked down (3) DAYA in the late stages of last week’s event. I’ll look for the former to beat the latter again. They’re very similar in my opinion and should both be trying to gun down the favorite.

Race 3: NW $2,500 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $5,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. AE: N/A $1,935 P/S IN 2026.

I’ll look for (2) STABLE GENIUS to rebound after never having a chance to showcase his best. I think he gets to the front this week. (5) MY WAY is in decent form right now and should be involved if he finds a live helmet to follow. (9) FOR JULY was better in his latest and now drops in class again. I think he can get a piece.

Race 4: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 RACES OR $38,750 LIFETIME.

(5) STAY FRESH made multiple moves from an outside post in his first local start and raced very well. Post relief should allow him to get his trip without working as hard. (2) SECRET SOCIETY was a measured winner after racing off cover and set a new career best. He isn’t flashy, but he’ll put forth a good effort every time. (4) MAJOR MIKI had to work for the win in his latest and now gets a flashy driver change. He has been sharp, but I’ll use him underneath.

Race 5: NW $9,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $18,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000.AE: NW 8 RACES LIFETIME. AE: N/A $2,835 P/S IN 2026.

(5) AMIGO VOLO likely tries to go down the road again after getting back to form in his latest. I’ll lean on his back class. (6) MY BUDDY SAM was fine last week, but I think he benefits from this draw because of his early speed. He could trip out behind the favorite. (1) NASEY gets a major post switch and will likely be passing horses late.

Race 6: FILLIES & MARES, NW $12,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $24,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $70,000. AE: NW 8 RACES OR $150,000 LIFETIME.

(4) AVYANNA was forced wide in the first eighth and was unable to show top speed until it was too late. A better trip could see her bring a price. (9) MADRID A comes off two sharp wins on the lead and shows no signs of slowing down. (7) HORIZON SEELSTER was a good second to Madrid A two starts ago and has versatility. She is one of a few here who is having a solid season despite limited outings.

Race 7: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD LEG 4. 3 YEAR OLD TROTTING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $900 CDN ($700 USD).

(3) BLUE JEAN GAL cruised to the win in the last Gold and doesn’t find any new opposition that could pose a threat. (1) BINGO NIGHT has the fitness edge and will get a good trip, likely right behind Blue Jean Gal. (2) FLOWING TRIBUTE adds Lasix after looking a step short in her latest, but she hasn’t raced in over a month.

Race 8: CLAIMING HANDICAP $30,000 TO $40,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE & SEX. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000.

(9) STICKEMINLETHIMGO was a sharp winner in his latest and should be firing early from the outside. I’ll give him the nod to repeat. (8) WANNABEABIGSTAR returns to the level where he crushed two back on the lead. Do those tactics return tonight? (2) DOWS UP was no match for the winner last week but still secured a good piece. He is a logical underneath type most weeks.

Race 9: NW $22,500 LAST 4 STARTS. AE: NW 9 RACES OR $150,000 LIFETIME. AE: 3 YEAR OLDS.

(8) VESSEM N ripped off cover from the back and paced home extremely well to finish third. He has a ton of ability, but needs to put it all together. (4) WAFFLE BLUE CHIP should show a bit more gate speed tonight and secure a better trip. He has sharp speed on both ends of the mile. (5) AYEAYE CAPTAIN DEO is second back but not likely back to his best yet. I’ll use him underneath.

Race 10: 3 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: GRASSROOTS OR PROSPECT STARTERS.

(4) STONEBRIDGE WINGS makes his second start on Lasix now after a solid win at Kawartha. He gets around the Mohawk oval just fine and should handle these. (6) ZILLENIAL looms at a price if the new trainer figured something out. He could show gate speed this week. (10) MIKE ME UP was another sharp winner at Kawartha but has to deal with the outside post. He has shown the ability to get himself into the race in a variety of ways.

Race 11: NW $2,500 LAST 4 OR NW $5,000 LAST 8 STARTS. (W/O $10,000 L8 STARTS N/E). AE: N/A $1,570 P/S IN 2026 (MIN 10 STARTS). AE: STARTERS FOR A PURSE $10,000 L3.

(5) BET THE BB is in a classic Mohawk spot where the tote board should tell us a lot about his chances. Another speed try could get it done. (2) WATERLOO has been facing much tougher company of late. I’m not sure what trip he gets, but he should improve. (9) HARBORLITE AMBROSE should be firing early and will look to secure a good trip.

Race 12: NW $6,500 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $12,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: NW $30,000 IN 2026.

I’ll look for (8) LITE UP THE WORLD to put it all together on the drop. A return to form should see him win by at least four. (7) NUCLEAR has been sharp from off the pace but might need to show a little gate speed tonight to get himself into contention. (10) CODENAME CIGAR BOX has been hit and miss all year but takes a steep drop from the Open. He should be a contender in this finale.
