Top Pick Stats: 273 - 835 / $1487.50 (-$182.50) Best Bets: 45 - 78 / $148.80 (-$7.20) Spot Plays: 13 - 76 / $157.00 (+$5.00) Best Bet: LEGENDARY HANOVER (3RD) Spot Play: WARRAWEEFORLAURA (10TH) Early Pick 5: 4,6,7/4,7/6/3,5,8/3,4,5,7 = $14.40 Late Pick 5: 5/5,6,9/4,5,8/1,3,7/5,8 = $10.80 Early Pick 4: 3,5,8/3,4,5,7/5/5,6,9 = $7.20 Late Pick 4: 5,6,9/4,5,8/1,3,7/5,8 = $10.80 Race 1: 5YO and younger NW2 or $30,000 LT **Gtd. $100,000 Pick 5** This race will likely come down to the Gold droppers. (6) BEST NIGHT EVER was the first leader last week but there were two lead changes and he found himself as the third one racing on the inside which isn’t ideal. He has a good chance to wire these. (4) BRUDON finished fast while lacking room in deep stretch and he finished just behind the choice. He should get a more aggressive drive in this NW2 dash, and he is in with a decent shot. (7) NUMBER CRUNCHER has already taken a fast mark in New Jersey this spring. He gets Scott Zeron in the bike here and he should be a threat. (2) PRICE CONTROL will likely pass some rivals and land in the bottom of the exotics again. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: MISS VERSATILITY: LEG 2 (7) CALL ME GOO produced a big final 1/4 to win leg 1 and I imagine Tetrick will blast to the front, then accept the pocket again when main rival (4) M MS DREAM moves to the front. I’ll side with the former who is sure to offer a better price here. (3) TACTICAL MOUNDS had a tremendous sophomore season, and she comes in off a nice win over some male rivals, but she steps into the deep end here. I’ll use her underneath tonight. (6) ADARE CASTLE was driven like she needed the race last week. She can land in the bottom of the exotics at a price here. Race 3: SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE 3 YEAR OLD OPEN (6) LEGENDARY HANOVER outdrew his main rivals here and that will likely make him very hard to beat. (9) FUNTIME BAYAMA might have gone too slow early in the mile last week because he ended up getting picked off by the loaded pocket sitter. He will be blasting for position here and he should be an Exacta factor. (4) CALICOJACK HANOVER gets off the rail which should mean he can lay closer to the front this time. I see him closing for a share. (10) STORM SHADOW couldn’t repel a rival that raced uncovered a long way last week. He has his work cut out here facing tougher and drawing worst; small share predicted. Race 4: GRADUATE SERIES: 4 YEAR OLD OPEN LEG 1 - Pick 4 Last year’s North America Cup winner, (5) IT’S MY SHOW, returns and he adds Lasix. He will likely be the one to catch and beat here. (3) ALL CLASS was very good in the Juravinski elimination and final and he is razor sharp and dangerous. He should be a big threat tonight; using. (8) COMBUSTION exploded late to win his most recent start and he is another adding Lasix. He could do if there is any battling in the opening 1/2. (9) SEVEN COLORS didn’t get the best trip in the Juravinski final, but he draws worst now. A small share is likely for him here. Race 5: GRADUATE SERIES: 4 YEAR OLD OPEN LEG 1 (4) OSCEOLA got progressively faster in his first three starts this year and he was given a brief rest following his dominant win in the Ontario Graduate series. He faces open trotters now, but he can be up to it. (7) CHAPERCRAZ gets Tetrick back and he always sends him. He can get a good trip here racing on or near the lead and he could add some value to multi-race tickets. (3) OH WELL was part of the Exacta in 10 of his 13 starts last year and he earned more than $500K. He adds Lasix here and he is another possibility in a race with many options. (5) KIERKEGAARD K had some good moments in 2023 and he qualified well for this on 5/25. He drew well and Gingras will likely put him into the race leaving the gate. Here is yet another contender.   Race 6: SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE 3 YEAR OLD OPEN - Pick 5 Last year’s Metro Pace winner (5) CAPTAINS QUARTERS couldn’t have looked any better throttling some elders in his sophomore debut and he will be a single for me here. (8) NEWSROOM won his first six starts last year. He obviously races well fresh, and he should be a threat here. (2) NIJINSKY caught fire in the lane last week to beat favored Funtime Bayama, but I don’t see him getting the same trip tonight. I’ll use him underneath. (3) DO BETTER can pass a few of these late to land in the bottom of the exotics. Race 7: NW $15,250 L5 or $25,200 L8 AE: NW 8 LT - Pick 4 (6) SOUTHWIND SAMBUCCA was no match for a rival that raced out of his skin last week, but he was clearly the best of the rest. He is razor sharp and he gets the nod here. (5) MR IBIZA N was visually impressive flying down the lane to win at this level two starts back. He will likely be the one to fend off late. (9) STONE CARVER wired the field in 1:50-flat last time he raced this low. I expect Sorrie to try to blast and last with him and he is another that figures to be a threat. (3) WHATCHULOOKIN AT exits the same race as the choice an its noteworthy that he was passing horses late in a 1:47 4/5 mile. He should be in the exotics mix again. Race 8: GRADUATE SERIES: 4 YEAR OLD OPEN LEG 1 (8) HUNTINTHELASTDOLAR was driven with confidence in the Juravinski final as Gingras made two early moves to the front and the gelding did the rest. He gets the call to repeat coming in off that strong effort. (5) NO CONTROL was hung the mile and he was only three lengths behind the choice at the wire. He could turn the tables here if he gets a better trip. (4) WHY NOT NOW had a nice sophomore campaign and he looks ready to roll based on his two qualifiers. He is another in with a chance. (1) ERVIN HANOVER is another that got a rough ride in the Juravinski final. He should get a better trip here and crack the exotics. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: PREFERRED 2 (7) SAULSBROOK VICTOR was loaded with pace late in the mile last week and he fits well here on the slight drop not having to face currently unbeatable Taurasi. He should get a setup for his potent late kick tonight and he gets the nod. (1) CONTROL HEAVEN made two moves on Taurasi in that same race, and he finished only 1/2-length behind the choice. His typical front-end style seems to conflict with some others in here, but his current form is hard to ignore. (3) EMMETTS BUDDY is another whose typical closing style should play well in this spot, and he should offer a square price. He is the third one that I’ll use on multi-race tickets. (8) WRITE ME A ROSE is another sharp horse that should be in the mix but from the widest post I’ll use him underneath. Race 10: 5YO and younger winners of 2 but not more than 5 or $45,000 LT (5) WARRAWEEFORLAURA fits much better here, and he draws perfectly for a speed try. I expect Borth to send him and he gets top call. (8) SAULSBROOK IAN was a winner three back then he faced the impossible mission of racing against Legendary Hanover twice. He should improve sharply here. (2) CENTURY INSPECTOR qualified fast for this first start for trainer Burgess, but this is not an easy spot. I’ll use him underneath. (1) KOPI LUWAK was racing well until he came up against a horse that paced in 1:47 4/5. He should rebound here and land in the exotics. (3) T H MCMURRY had no shot in his last two starts facing some very tough colts and starting from the widest post. He should be good for a small share tonight.
