She made multiple moves in that effort and was right in the mix at the wire. She has to work from another outside post, but last week wasn’t a problem. (5) ALWAYS DAWN took a step forward in her second start back, and should have more trip options off the car when getting away from the rail. (3) DIRTY DIANA used her late kick to produce a strong third place finish when stepping up to this level. The fractions should be quick enough to allow her to pass horses again. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD LEG 1: 3 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $900 CDN ($700 USD). (5) A CLEAN DEAL got the best of her rivals in the SBOA Final as the odds-on favorite. She is likely to have every chance on the lead tonight in a short field. (1) SHES A BULLDOG wasn’t at her best when facing off against A Clean Deal, but should rebound in this spot if she’s right. She showed enough gate speed off the car last week, so the rail shouldn’t be a problem. (4) ROMANTIC BEAUTY is in good form right now, and has the kick to give herself a chance at a piece behind the top two. Race 3: FILLIES & MARES OPEN. (5) LETS N JOY N got picked off up the inside last week, but that was likely the only trip that was going to get her beat. She has been excellent at the top level for weeks now. (6) ABSOLUTION got the rail to open up and was able to beat the big favorite. She had been pacing big miles previously and was sitting on a win with the right trip. (8) SIMPLY THE BEST was an upset winner in her return and paced a big mile after sitting a perfect trip. I think she is up against it from a trip standpoint given the post. Race 4: FILLIES & MARES, NW $6,500 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $12,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $30,000. (3) SUNSHINE MAGIC gets a steep drop from the Open level where she held her own. She is reunited with her familiar pilot tonight and should shine in this spot. (4) MADAM X is extremely sharp at this level and draws favorably again. She should be given every chance to do well once again. (1) TWIN B EMPRESS nearly completed a sweep of the latest Pop Up Series and showed versatility in that stretch. She is in top form right now and deserves a look. Race 5: NW $6,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $13,600 LAST 8 STARTS (W/O $23,000 LAST 8 STARTS N/E). (9) WHATCHULOOKIN AT should be put in play tonight given that he gets another drop in class. He has been up against it from a trip standpoint in his last few starts. Some early speed could counter that issue. (6) JABBERWOCKY could be set for a down the road attempt, although he hasn’t been able to finish one in recent tries. This is another drop in class, though, for a classy pacer nearing a half a million dollars. (5) HOWMAC VICTOR is a grinder who should give himself a chance to hit the ticket no matter where he gets away. It’s a bonus if he can work off a helmet. Race 6: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, WINNERS OF 3 BUT NOT MORE THAN 6 RACES OR $80,000 (OS $100,000) LIFETIME. AE: 4 YR OLDS NW $100 IN 2026. (7) FIGMENT continued his sharp form with last week’s win by a neck. This class can come up salty at times, but he has been up for the challenge week in and week out. (2) MAJOR THREAT was aptly named given his performance last week. Recent efforts show that it wasn't just a flash in the pan. He should be right there again tonight. (3) BACKUP PLAN put it all together last week in a strong effort, but now steps up to a group that he might have to settle for a share against. Race 7: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD LEG 1: 3 YEAR OLD PACING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $900 CDN ($700 USD). (8) BEAU JANGLES is going to effortlessly beat these horses again unless something goes terribly wrong. He is the superstar that this sport has been lacking for years. (2) BORDERLINE MOBBY was a sharp winner on the front end two starts ago. That gate speed could allow him to work a good trip and finish best of the rest. (3) WINDOR hasn’t quite returned in top form, but it took him a minute to get going at two. He can get another piece tonight. Race 8: NW $28,000 LAST 4 STARTS. AE: 4 YR OLDS. I really liked (2) REMEMBER THE ALAMO last week and he produced a sharp winning effort on the lead. I’ll look for him to show gate speed again and hopefully encounter no traffic trouble. (8) POSEIDON SEELSTER is logical when dropping from the Open where he just missed. I would look for him to show gate speed against this group tonight. (5) CRACK SHOT gets reunited with McNair after a miscue took him out of contention in his Juravinski elimination. When he’s right, he can pace with Open company. Race 9: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD LEG 1: 3 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $900 CDN ($700 USD). (4) P N G SHADOW was a strong second behind A Clean Deal after leaving out and getting a perfect trip. She will be forwardly placed again in this short field and I’ll give her the edge. (6) DAYA didn’t fire her best last week, but draws a short field that should allow her to get a better trip and every chance at her first win of the season. (1) NAUGHTY DELIGHT could spring the upset if she gets a good trip. She has been showing sharp final quarters, but from well off the pace. Race 10: FILLIES & MARES, NW $2,500 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $4,500 LAST 6 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. (4) SETTN A PRECEDENT saw the rail open up for her, but by the time she got going, the outside horses already had momentum. I’ll look for her to get a winning trip tonight with an improved post. (6) CC ROCKIN ROSIE took a completely different route last week and it paid big dividends. She flew home to get the job done, and now has plenty of options given this post draw. (8) MADRID A has been shining in this class in recent tries, though may be limited just a touch by the post. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 11: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 RACES OR $50,000 (OS $66,000) LIFETIME. AE: 4 YR OLDS NW $7,500 IN 2026 (MIN 3 STARTS). (1) STARLIT MILLERTIME is an interesting prospect who makes his debut for the Amanda Riley barn. He comes off a sharp second place finish in his only start of the year, and made multiple moves in that effort. I’ll give the new shooter the nod. (3) SCAMMER came through with a big effort in his first start north of the border. He pulled off a big upset from off the pace. A similar mile should have him right there. (4) PAC MAN HANOVER finds an easier overall field and draws a post that gives him plenty of trip options off the car. I’ll use him underneath tonight. Race 12: NW $9,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $18,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. AE: N/A $2,590 P/S IN 2026. (6) CODENAME CIGAR BOX got Cullen’s nod which might mean a speed try is coming. He draws perfectly for it, and his last time trying it gave him a win. He gets my nod in a wide-open race. (7) SOARING NOW didn’t have much chance in his latest when getting away at the back. Roy gets back in the bike tonight on the drop in class. He should be in a much better position. (4) JACK PANIC gets a much-improved post which should allow him to show gate speed. He thrives when sitting up close.
