AE: OPT. CLM. $70,000. AE: NW $100,000 LIFETIME. (5) HUNGRY MAN was never involved in his latest effort, especially since drawing pp10. He flashed some good speed late and was moving well at the end of it. He draws well and could work out a pretty good trip, which could result in a minor upset here. (4) NAZARE has been razor sharp as of late and is coming off a 3rd place effort in his latest. He draws better this evening and will be pointed forward off the gate, and will be the one to take down. (10) CODENAME CIGAR BOX wasn’t a factor in his latest but took on tougher company. He draws poorly in this contest but is one capable of a big effort, but the post doesn’t do him any favors this evening. (9) COLD CREEK QUESO will make his first start in about one month. He has taken on some salty foes over his last few pari-mutuel tries, and is one that merits respect, but fitness is an obvious question mark. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: SBOA FINAL: ONTARIO SIRED 3 YEAR OLD FILLY PACE. STARTING FEE $1,000 CDN $775 USD. (6) CHANTILLY will be making her highly-anticipated season debut. This daughter of Big Jim is coming off a rookie season where she was a perfect 9-9, and was named the Somebeachsomewhere Horse of the Year in Canada. She will offer a price of the shortest varieties but should handle this group with ease. (3) PERFECTLY CHIC was a runner up to a strong winner in her latest. This filly has raced well in two starts this year and will have every opportunity to grab a big piece this evening. (5) MILLIE MAY HANOVER ships in from the US off a pair of qualifying efforts. She was 2nd in both of them and finished up well in those efforts, and should be able to secure a share here. (2) WICKED N SINGLE was 3rd in her season debut and can land on the ticket. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $41,000) LIFETIME. (3) LITE UP THE WORLD scored easily in what appeared to be a measured victory. He was sharp in his sophomore debut and should only take another step forward here; top call. (1) SMILING DANCER came first over and challenged the pace setter in his latest. He looked like he was going to be an easy winner, before being pulled up by driver Doug McNair, to finish 5th. He’s back in to go a week later, which likely indicates he’s just fine, and he can finish behind the choice here. (8) BLUE BAR rallied nicely for a 2nd place effort in his latest. He’s flashed good late speed in both outings, and that will give him every opportunity to hit the board here. (4) GRIN AND WIN was a very nice 2nd in his latest, and he can close late to round out the super with the right trip. Race 4: SBOA FINAL: ONTARIO SIRED 3 YEAR OLD FILLY TROT. (4) GREEN GLIDER has looked sharp in both of her starts here as a 3YO, and was an ultra-impressive winner in her latest. She rallied from off the pace and blew past her rivals with ease. She will have to find a little more to beat the likely favorite, but I think if she can work out a trip behind her, she’ll have every chance. (3) MONALISHI was an easy winner in her latest in her 3YO debut. She will enter this contest as the one to beat, but she appeared to be just a little flat on the engine last time out. She might be in a spot where she’s cutting the mile, and she could be susceptible to the choice if that’s the case. (8) SPRITE SEELSTER rallied nicely in her latest to be 2nd to the one above. She has been sharp in both outings and can close late for another share. (1) LIL SWEET was aggressively handled and faltered late. She should be sharper in her 2nd start back but this is a deeper field overall. Race 5: POP UP SERIES FINAL: HORSES & GELDINGS NW $20,000 OR NOT AVERAGING $1,700 PER START IN 2025 (MIN 8 STARTS). (8) SERIOUSLY HANOVER showed a different dimension last time out when he left our aggressively from the outside to score in gate-to-wire fashion. He has the most speed in this field when he’s on his game, and last week was an indication that he could be rounding into form again. I’ll give him top honors to score in this Pop Up Series Final. (7) CENTURY INSPECTOR is coming off back-to-back victories, displaying different styles in each. He is sharp and merits respect. (6) LARCENY was runner up to the choice, but fell short of catching him. He draws well and should be able to work out another favorable trip, which makes him a threat. (4) NIGHTIME DANCER had too much ground to make up last time out. He can grab a piece with a more favorable trip. Race 6: SBOA FINAL: ONTARIO SIRED 3 YEAR OLD COLT AND GELDING TROT. (7) GALEN ERSO was conservatively handled off the car in his sophomore debut, but showed very good wheels at the end of his mile. He found clearance late in the stretch and fell short to a rival who had the jump on him. He should be even tighter this evening and he gets top billing. (3) GETTHEGREEN looked like an easy winner in his latest before getting picked off by the pocket sitter. He put in an awkward step at the head of the lane and driver James MacDonald appeared to check him and just kept him to task. He is capable of a big effort and merits respect here. (4) DAY flashed some good late trot to score the minor upset last time out. It was the best effort he’s shown in his young career, and is Louis-Philippe Roy’s choice over the other elimination winner. (6) LOOKATMEGOAMIGO made a bridle change last time out which resulted in a stronger showing. He draws well and is capable of grabbing a share. Race 7: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 RACES OR $60,000 (OS $92,000) LIFETIME. (2) SAUBLE WILSON made a move to the lead before the 1/2 and cruised to a wrapped up victory. He’s been sharp in all three efforts in 2025 and he will be given every chance to double up this evening; top call. (3) D A LOVE BOAT will make his 3YO debut off a pair of qualifying efforts. He was picked off by the pocket sitter and was under some urging during that stretch duel by driver Louis-Philippe Roy. This colt has the ability to get the job done this evening if he’s at his best; contender. (5) HONOLULU VACATION angled out late in the mile and showed some good wheels late. He can grab a big piece if he’s within striking distance late. (8) MOOD CONTROL has hit the board in 6 straight and he can grab a share despite missing three weeks coming into this start. Race 8: SBOA FINAL: ONTARIO SIRED 3 YEAR OLD COLT AND GELDING PACE. (6) CRACK SHOT looked like he was going to settle for the place spot in his latest, before driver Doug McNair popped the plugs in the final 1/8th, and this colt absolutely found another gear. He should be even tighter in his 2nd start of the year and he's going to be the one to knock off this evening. (9) FIFTH AND FIVE got picked off by the choice in his latest. He has been sharp in both efforts and merits respect even with an outside draw. (3) BOXER SEELSTER will make his 3YO debut off a pair of qualifiers. He was just okay in his most recent prep, but you have to expect this colt to be ready for a solid effort this evening. (7) TIP OF TIME put forth a good effort in defeat and is capable of grabbing a share. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: PREFERRED. (7) NIJINSKY will be making his 2025 debut this evening and is coming off two, very strong qualifiers. He will take on some salty aged foes this evening, but his preps give an indication this he’s ready for a big effort, in what will be a busy, stakes-filled, 4YO campaign. (4) ERVIN HANOVER will make his 2025 debut after closing out his 2024 campaign on a scorching hot note. He, too, is coming off a pair of qualifiers that should have him primed for a big effort, and he will likely be the one to chase in this spot, and could prove tough to catch. (5) BRUE HANOVER has won six in a row and will take on his toughest group to date. He draws well and he’s sharp enough to be competitive, but the two above seem to have just a little bit more, even if they will be making their seasonal debuts. (2) GEM QUALITY made a miscue off the gate at Yonkers in his latest. He put forth two sharp efforts in his starts prior, and is one that can grab a piece in this spot. Race 10: NW $9,000 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. (1) DRAGONONTHEBEACH was never a factor in his latest, but that was his first pari-mutuel start since October. He takes a drop, has a start under his belt, and should be primed for a more competitive try here; top call. (4) STORMALONG stayed along the cones in his latest and flashed some good pace late in the mile. He rounded out the super in that effort and appears to be sitting on a good effort here. (9) SAULSBROOK IAN closed nicely to be 3rd in his latest. He draws the outside and loses his driver from last week to the one above, but this is a horse who is one to watch out for late in the mile. (2) SERGEANT SLAUGHTER has hit the board in 4 of his last 6 and is one that could hit the ticket here too. (5) RESPECT OUR FLAG draws well and can round out the hi-5 in this spot.
